Hello! We're Mark and Amy Stevens from Erwin, Tenn. We've been married 15 years and have spent many happy days vacationing at our Sunsuite on Fripp Island in South Carolina. Buying our Sunsuite was a dream come true, and it's one of the best decisions we've ever made. We completely renovated and redecorated our little condo (with the help of family and friends!), and we still love looking for nautical collectibles to add our personal touch to the decor. We hope you'll consider staying in our little place by the sea!
Why the Owner Chose Sunsuite Studios
Mark grew up vacationing on Fripp Island with his family. Once we were married, the two of us began vacationing there together. We always joked we'd retire on Fripp one day, but we never imagined we'd be able to buy our very own Fripp place so soon. It's wonderful to have a place where we can escape the pressures of everyday life!
The Unique Benefits of this Studio
We've traveled from coast to coast and to beaches throughout the Caribbean, but there's no place in the world quite like Fripp Island. We love hopping on a golf cart and traveling the roads through the marsh to spot shore birds, and there's nothing better than watching the sunset at the end of Tarpon Boulevard. It's wonderful to spend lazy days on the beach without only a handful of other people – and sometimes no one at all! – as far as the eye can see. And of course, there's the delicious dinners at The Beach Club and Bonito Boathouse -- where you might even see Pat Conroy.

I loved this suite's location. Everything was very relaxed, very laid back. The room is pretty small, but my party of two adults was comfortable. The kichenette came in especially handy with all the fresh seafood markets around. I forgot to take my large pot with me but was happy to find that this suite had decent sized pots, a regular sized fridge, plates, bowls, everything I needed. My only complaint is that there is no private balcony. The suites are set up like a hotel with outside access. Each one has a little alcove-type seating area. So you can sit outside and watch the waves roll, but the ocean breeze is mostly blocked and anyone could walk by at any moment. That being said, who cares about the balcony! I wasn't in the suite long enough to use it that much anyway. The location is great for all sorts of activities. The beach is ideally accessible, it's not crowded, there's a nice walking path nearby with deer everywhere, and Hunting Island Park is just on the other side of the bridge with hiking/biking trails, a marsh walk, and lighthouse. There is really no end to the outdoor activities. And if you want to just sit and relax, this is also a good place for that. It is very quiet. There was a wedding at the clubhouse during my stay. I heard the music when I was outside, but once that room door shut, nothing; not a peep. I very much enjoyed my stay here and look forward to possibly staying here again.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Fripp Island is the best place for young families I think I've ever seen! Because the island is self-contained, if you have older children, you can allow them the freedom to explore. The condo was just right, welcoming, well-kept, and what a view!!! You are mere steps to the beach, two of the resort's pools and the food court. Once we rented bicycles, the island was entirely at our fingertips. We had a wonderful stay.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.
