Welcome to Las Brisas

Turn onto Hummingbird Lane and feel the tranquility surround you. Pass a few scattered homes and quiet pastures, encounter a few deer grazing, some wild turkeys... meander toward the old barn, and slowly ascend the gentle slope to Las Brisas.

This luxurious Blue Ridge escape on 35 acres of rolling hills is filled with details rarely available in a rental property. Hints of the southwest, Mexico, and the Blue Ridge Mountains all subtlely come together to create your next slice of vacation paradise.

The exterior features a rustic western look with natural cedar, highlighted by a Mexican hacienda door with a "postigo" window that children especially love. Inside, you will find comfortable furnishings, antiques, and soothing colors. Enjoy evening cocktails from the rockers on the back deck as you behold the sun setting over Grandfather Mountain.

In order to maintain a tranquil and natural ambiance, there are no televisions in this home. Note that even the most adamant tv fans have visited and made comments such as, "I am so glad you did not have tv...we played games, read and had the best vacation ever..."Or..."I did not think my husband could stand missing all the games, but he played scrabble, hiked with the kids and had the time of his life!" (Sports bars and movie theatres in Boone are just 15 minutes away.)

Floors are covered in wide-plank heart pine and slate on the main level, and woolen sisal downstairs and in the loft. Original artwork and antique iron light fixtures hang throughout the house. A fabulous sound system created by Bruce Sprinsteen's former installer ensures high-quality sound inside and out.

Hot tub installed April 2007.

Las Brisas was completed in 2004. Architect: Bradley Dowdey. Builder: John Drake. Design: Circa in Charlotte.
