Why the Owner Chose Hilo
At 1200 feet elevation, it is a perfect climate: breezy, tropical and on the mountainside of Mauna Kea, it is simply one of the most lovely and dreamlike places anyone could imagine to live in. A mile from the Hilo Watershed and the top of Ainaola Drive, we have a beautiful quiet country road to walk, under tall eucalyptus trees. The views of the ocean and forests is stunning, and peaceful. The small private road has good neighbors and friends. We built a vacation rental so we could share this experience with others of like interests.

January 12, 2008 Dear Dave and Nora, What a welcome change!! Arrived from Kona a little frazzled and right away the quiet relaxed us. It's so good to see the quiet, country-loving-side of the Big Island. Thanks, Dave, for your guided tour of your acrerage (& your passion fruit!) Thank you Nora for your well-appointed "Nest" and your attention to have on hand some of the niceties we don't want to pack along. And each and every animal was a real blessing, each in thier own way! Thank you SO MUCH! Howard, Deanie, Richland, Wes & Rollins Cicon PS. To those future guests....when you are downtown Hilo...don't be fooled by those well-advertized places to eat...try the Royal Siam Thai Food...a place not advertized, but extremely good! Also right around the corner on the main drag is the Puka-Puka kitchen...it doesn't look like much but the food is GREAT. Also enjoyed the Pescatori! The Cicons Mahalo nui...to Nora, Dave and Noe...and our animal friends. (this is followed by a great little drawing of kid and pet!)

May 8, 2008 Nora and Dave: Your have a beautiful ohana house and we enjoyed staying here. We enjoyed the excited greetings by Schatzie, Augie, and Bijou whenever we left or came home. Lulu seemed to be our back patio guardian, spending most of her time sleeping against the door or on the next mat over. The goats and Merlin were very cute...and I did "enjoy" getting spit on by Merlin! Mahalo, Jon & Sandi

Hello Friends and potential visitors to Noe's Nest... We have a guestbook in the Nest for our visitors to leave us their thoughts and comments. I am proud that, for 3 years, we only had 1 dissatisfied couple...but I guess some people would complain even if they were in God's pocket.(And I do think that Noe's Nest is probably pretty close to God's pocket.) I will let you read the notes that I have copied VERBATIM from our visitor's and hopefully they will help you decide if this is the place you would like to visit! We hope to meet you soon....the only thing missing is the great drawings by the children who have loved our pets! Aloha, Nora Waters
