First, I must say that we have rented many homes on the coastal regions of Florida and this is the first time we have rented on Lake Oconee. And...we will return! The lake is beautiful. The home was everything that we expected and more. The house was very clean and the photo's represent it well. The view of the lake is amazing. Especially in the evenings while watching the sunset. The dock is very well maintained and great for sun or fishing. We rented the golf cart and it was well worth it for the convenience. We spent time at Reynold's Plantation at the tennis center, golf and had lunch at the Cafe. We really enjoyed the fires in the evenings while roasting marsh mellows. We also took a day to fish with a guide, (Doug Nelms), he was the best. We were catching large hybrids. Rebecca was the best home owner we have ever worked with on a trip. Very concientious and courteous to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. We appreciate that "true" southern hospitality. Chris, Carla & Family.

Great Stay, Even Better View

Perfect house situated far enough off the main road so that you are "miles away" from it all, but close enough to where you are never too far away. The house has a great back yard area and huge yard that leads up to the lake. The spacious home is big enough for a large group of people (as was our case) to spread out and have their own space, while have access to the awesome kitchen and living room. You literally are no more than a 5 minute drive from the Ritz Carlton and all the shops(Publix, movie theater, restaurants etc) right off Linger Longer Rd. This is a must stay whenever you travel to Lake Oconee.

Recommended for:Families with young children, romantic getaway.

We had a great week at "Miles Away". First off the house was spotless when we arrived (and I am very picky) such that we could smell how clean it was from the front porch! The house is beautifully appointed and Rebecca has worked hard to make sure everything you need is available. The amenities are endless--even better than have been described. I think the kitchen is stocked better than my own at home! We had some minor issues with the house when we were there, which Rebecca promptly took care of and went through great efforts to make sure was to our satisfaction. She truly is a gem of a person and a delight to work with. Her hospitality is reflected in the lovely home she provides. Thank you for a wonderful week!!

The kitchen iw well equipped for cooking for large groups. Many toys for all age children. The high chair was especially helpful for my great nephew of 2 years. Rebecca, Thank you so much for renting us your lake house over memorial weekend. It is BEAUTIFUL both indoors and out. Rebecca, things could not have gone better. We had a fantastic time, the boys caught fish, it was beautiful to go out to the dock at 7:00 a.m. each morning to fish. The fire pit was a huge plus, we used it every night to sit around and cook smores. Your house was so well equipped, we have rented homes several times but never had a home this well equipped, PS2, books, games, yard toys, kitchen utensils……..Your home is beautiful, we all spent a lot of time outside in the big yard, playing games and volleyball. We were spoiled with the golf cart, so easy to go back and forth from the house to the lake. It was so nice to walk into your house and feel like we were in a home, not a rental house. We went to Athens which was a quick ride, ate at the Blue Willow in Social Circle, went to Pounders for steaks. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home with us and allowing our family to create great memories! Scott

We could not have been more pleased with your beautiful home. It was perfect in every way. Our 18 month old grandson loved all the toys and all of the adults loved everything else. Our vacation at "Miles Away" was everything I had hoped for! We had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca, Chris and Remington upon our arrival. They went over and above to make certain that everything was perfect & it was - including the weather. There weren't enough hours in the day to take advantage of all the amenities offered at their home. We fished, water skiied, tubed, rode bikes, cooked out, had s'mores and played baseball every day. Their home is lovely and very well-kept with everything you could ever want or need. Rebecca's info prior to arrival made Lake Oconee feel very familiar. We're already trying to come up with a date for all of our family to return.

We enjoyed three wonderful weeks of "work-cation" in this gorgeous home! It is the perfect retreat for both family and business and is maintained to a tee. There is truly nothing lacking...the kitchen is amazingly well-stocked, and everything in the house is kept in pristine condition. The patio and decks are very private and comfortable. The owners are very involved and eager that your experience there be top notch...any concern is immediately addressed. After three weeks on the lake, I decided this may well be the very best lot of all. The sunsets are lovely, and the view across the lake is very unique in that there are woods and pastureland to look at instead of developments or lots of other houses. It is very peaceful and private in its setting and is slightly off the beaten path for the heaviest lake traffic... which is a wonderful blessing on more-crowded holidays. The flat lot makes everything very accessible for all ages and abilities. One in our party uses a wheelchair and could access both the house and yard with relative ease (two small steps) through the garage. We practically lived in the shady grove of pine trees near the dock (the perfect spot to set up chairs and discuss business and/or converse in a breeze while you eyeball the younger ones out in the boiling sun on the lake!). We could not have been more delighted with our experience and hope to return for more fun/fellowship in this lovely and charming locale. Thumbs way, way up on this VRBO listing!

The house was perfect for our family. The location couldn't have been better for my son who was playing in the Southern Jr. Am Golf Tournament. We actually drove our boat over to Reynolds Landing each day. The kitchen was amazing and provided everything we needed. My son really enjoyed having the Golf Cart to haul everything to the dock. Would highly recommend this house.

My best friend's wedding was this past Memorial Day weekend in Reynolds Plantation and my friends and family all went down to celebrate and stayed at Miles Away. From the first interaction and questions about the area and house to the second we drove away, our experience was amazing! We recentlu spend a few days at this wonderful and relaxing home on the lake. Every thing was as presented on web site and more. It is so relaxing and well equipped. Ben our 12 year old grandson learned to ski, up 1st time and our son Fred had a great time. We enjoyed the boat and the golf cart. The only problem was that the time flew by and we are now longing to return again soon. Rebecca is wonderful to work with and a joy to share emails and telephone conversations. We just returned from the most wonderful Spring Break stay at Miles Away. It is the perfect spot for a relaxing and fun family vacation. The house is exceptionally decorated and impecably maintained. There is must to do for all -- a beautiful setting - quiet and peaceful but not too far from shopping and dining, a dock for fishing, lots of great toys, videos, quiet areas for reading, etc., etc. And the kitchen has everything - you'll actually enjoy cooking while on vacation! Rebecca, We spent a short 2 nights at your lake home and wished we could spend an entire week, even though it was December. We attended a wedding at the Ritz and I have to say that the children wanted to stay home over going to the wedding reception. First class accommodations, everything you could possibly want or need is offered at Miles Away. The grounds were immaculate, games, movies, toys all wonderful additions for entertainment. "Miles Away" is the perfect get away from our busy hectic life. My family had such a wonderful time here. This home is beautiful! Extremely clean, completely stocked with everything you need, and decorated so nice! The grocery store is right around the corner too! We brought our wave-runner and had such a great time riding around this wonderful lake! We practicaly had the whole lake by ourselves! "Miles Away" is on a very private wooded lot so I didn't have to worry about the kids being too loud and bothering anyone. The boys played football is the huge yard and my daugther and I walked around and enjoyed nature. We fished and caught one fish after another! No kidding!It was the most relazing weekend my family and I have ever had! I highly recommed this home! We will be back, for sure!

WOW, what a wonderful feel this "enchanting forrest" gave me from the moment I drove down the driveway! It was heaven on earth and gave me the exact remedy for stress relief that I was so desperately needing. I basked in the morning sun on the deck with my coffee, I breathed in deep the cool fresh air as I sat completely still, meditating amidst the pines, I cleared my mind while watching the birds and wildlife down on the dock, I totally indulged with a MASSAGE {without leaving home!} If you are overdue for some rest and relaxation, you will not be disappointed in this little slice of heaven, I was sad to leave and look forward to coming again many times in the years to come. Trust me, look no further, this is THE ONE!! Miles Away is truly spectacular and the PERFECT vacation house. It has it all. First of all, Rebecca is very detailed from the decor and cleanliness to extra items she has available, like sunscreen, spices, coffee, teas, etc. She provides prompt and great communication, fabulous referrals, for anything from home-made cakes to a masseuse that comes to the house. She is wonderful to work with. I wish she could have been down here with us. Miles Away is immaculately clean and in good working order, so we did not have to come in and do anything. It is better stocked than my own home. The view has to be one of the best on the lake and is on a flat lot that sites on the main lake (no coves for vacations). While sitting on the dock, practically all you see is nature. There are amazing million-dollar sunsets and to sit on the dock or out on the boat and watch the sun go down is something everyone should experience. The beach area is such a great place for the kids to build sand castles or collect rocks. Miles Away has sand toys, beach chairs, and even umbrellas for the sun conscientious. This part of the lake is a great spot for all water sports and just minutes away is a marina where we could go gas up the boat. The golf cart was SO helpful; we loved being able to load it up and go! This house is perfect and has it all! There was plenty of room for everyone without feeling the least bit crowded. We enjoyed the fire pit most nights making s'mores and chatting. The kids really got a kick our of reeling in fish right off the dock! I loved the location! To have all that peace and quiet, yet be right down the road from the grocery, was so helpful! Thank you, Rebecca, for sharing Miles Away and giving us one of the best vacations ever. Thank you for having THE best vacation home we have ever rented. We will be back next year!

Fantastic vacation! We will be renting this beautifully appointed home again next year. Rebecca was amazing to work with and her hospitality was beyond expectations. She provided us with so much information about the local are we had everything we needed. We came with my 3 adult children and they each brought a friend along with my sister and no one wanted to leave. Definitely rent the golfcart, the boat and we rented jet skis from Typhoon Tommy's which is the best. The guys also played a round of golf. We had a fabulous dinner at the Ritz one night and you must try the chicken salad from Sweet Kneads. You can't beat driving the boat up to the Ritz for lunch or smores in the evening. After a full day of sun and water sports we played lawn games while we grilled gourmet dinners by the firepit. The mornings were my favorite. I loved having coffee on the patio as I watched nature rise for the day. The view is fabulous and we never felt crowded. Thanks so much to Rebecca and Chris for sharing this paradise.

Fantastic Getaway! The house is beautifully decorated and has everything we needed! The lakefront view is amazing. My family really enjoyed the yard and playing outdoor games. The patio and firepit were great places to relax in the evening. My trip was both relaxing and fun. I reccomend the golf cart, it was so convenient. The boat is really nice and was so much fun for skiing, cruising, tubing, and other fun activities. We love fishing off the dock. Our family really appreciated Rebecca's attention to detail. Our family had an amazing time at Miles Away. Our family gathered here from Texas, North Carolina, Georgia and England. Miles away is absolutely beautitul inside and out. We spent most of our time outside on the lovely back patio or down at the dock. It is so peaceful and quiet. I saw deer on two different mornings when I went for my morning run. Rebecca, thanks for suggesting pounders and sweet kneads. We bought meat from pounders and chicken salad from Sweet Kneads and they were both wonderful. Rebecca, you were so helpful with everything up to ordering cakes for my husband and daughter's birthdays. I hope we can stay at Miles away next year! I spent a week at Miles Away and it was one of the most enjoyable vacations I have had. It was beautiful and serene to sit on the dock and watch the orange sunset over the lake. The view from the back of the house is amazing - water and trees as far as the eye can see. The bedrooms were very well decorated and the entire house was exceptionally clean. The backyard was large and perfect for playing frisbee. The owners also have a golf cart that they rent out for an extra fee. Although it was not necessary, it was very helpful! As soon as I got to the dock I had to use the restroom and was able to hop on, ride in, an ride back to the dock in much less time than it would have taken to walk through the large backyard. The cart is also very helpful when taking things (cooler, fishing poles, etc) to and from the dock. It seats four and I definitely recommend thi to anyone with small children. I highly recommend this rental house and am already planning to return this summer!

"Miles Away" is BEAUTIFUL, inside and out! The home is tastefully and elegantly decorated by the homeowner, and is pleasing to the eye, cozy & welcoming, and immaculately clean! We found it comfortable, spacious and "user-friendly"! Rebecca could not have been more accomodating and helpful to us in allowing us to rent the property for our daughter's outdoor wedding reception (which the homeowners probably cannot do again because of changes in neighborhood covenants). The back lawn is expansive and faces deep-water views of Lake Oconee. The sunset over the lake just after our wedding guests arrived was SPECTACULAR and is something we will always hold in our memories of that day. We loved Rebecca, found her easy to work with, and even now consider her a new friend. We highly recommend "Miles Away" as your next lake-front get-away destination!

My wife and 3 sons had a very relaxing Thanksgiving vacation at 'Miles Away'. With boys 19,4 and 2, there was always something for the boys to do. What a treat! We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing week's vacation in this comfortable lake house, only getting into the car for the short drive to the supermarket (although there are plenty of other attractions nearby) The view from the house is great and our 4 kids were busy the whole time. This was our 2nd vacation at Lake Oconee. It was our 1st time to stay at Miles Away and we so loved it there. For 2 years my son has been begging us to go back to Oconee and he was not disappointed. For those of you with children, this is such a haven. The location of this home on the lake is perfect for playing on tubes, etc. behind the boat. There's not a lot of boat traffic so it's great-and for you avid skiers...very glassy in the early evening. My 5 yr. old caught his 1st bass and 4 catfish-all while we had our morning coffee on the back lawn. We had a fire at night in the firepit and of course, did mores. Also, go to Pounders and get crab legs like Rebecca suggested-they were outstanding. The golf cart is a must-you will wear yourself out going back and forth without it. Plus, it's kind of fun to drive. If you have children, there really is no need to bring much for them. If it's summer time they'll probably be out at the beach, if they are inside, it's all there already-really!! Rebecca was such a dream to work with. She was always available to answer questions and our deposit check was back to us within a couple of days. She's such a pleasure. For those of you using mapquest, the directions were way off-luckily we were familiar enough with the area to find the house, but be careful. One week is not long enough to be at the Lake-once you go you'll know what I mean!! Thanks Rebecca for allowing us the use of your beautiful slice of heaven! Kelly

A week was not enough to enjoy all of the toys and surrounding activities. The golf cart was a big hit with our family - be sure to ask Rebecca about it's availability. Rebecca was a delight to work with: she delivered on every promise and was available to answer any question. Since this was our first visit to the Oconee area, we found her recommendations to be most helpful. For any boaters interested in this home, we think that this home is located on a great part of the lake for watersports - we had water like glass each morning.

We had a wonderful week at Miles Away. The house was beautiful and equipped with anything one would need during a vacation. The boat rental was the biggest hit with our family. We planned to rent it a day or two, but used if 5 days! Rebecca was a joy to work with--she sincerely wanted us to have a home away from home.

I have been using VRBO for over five years, and have never had a better experience. The home and setting are gorgeous beyond words and the response of the owner, and their willingness to answer any question, no matter how unimportant. Great boat, great house.

I know the web site and pictures are great, but they don't reflect the outstanding experience of week at this location. Everything was outstanding, the house is beautiful and well decorated, the landscaped back yard is a sight to see. It is perfectly located on the lake, with a great view. The owners were very courteous and helpful in providing information about the home and its amenities (which are many). It made planning our stay a breeze. Rebecca, Thanks for everything. Don't forget to ask the owners about the golf cart, you will not regret having it for your stay. The yard is huge and the cart saves many steps to and from the dock and house. Also had a great time fishing and boating directly in front of the dock, within view of the back yard. Our family truly enjoyed every day at this fantastic home on the lake.

The pictures on VRBO are great, but the house was even better in person. Everything was perfect. There was plenty of room for all 10 of us to stretch out. We were super close to the Ritz where we spent a lot of time for the wedding. Make sure you take in a sunset on the dock or boat. Let us know if you ever sell it, I know 10 people that would like to go in on it! Thank you for your help Rebecca. One note for future guests, Mapquest website and GPS took us astray. Do not rely on them.

We could not have had a more perfect weekend! My husband, myself and 3 other couples rented this beautiful home for a weekend (without children....something very rare for all of us!). We really wanted the experience to be special. We couldn't have asked for more! The house is GORGEOUS top to bottom, and stocked with everything you can think of. We spent all day on the dock, and all evening in front of the fire pit...So relaxing! We had massages at the house too, Rebecca's recommendation...wonderful! Finally, I can't say enough about the owners. Rebecca made our preparation so easy. So kind, timely with correspondence and full of information about the the area, services and activities! We can't wait to visit again....only this time we will bring the kids...I don't want them to miss a chance to enjoy this wonderful place! Thanks again Rebecca! We loved our visit!

The house was wonderful. I booked it so that we could take a group of clients to The Masters and have a nice place to return to in the evenings. The home itself, is beautifully decorated and has a great view. I would absolutely recommend this house to others looking for a nice get-away.

Our family, which consists of six adults and four children, could not have found a nicer place to stay! Even though this Easter weekend was the coldest on record in the last 20 years, we had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
