This is a beautiful home; however, it is NOT oceanfront. It is a little walk to the beach on a private walk. But when it says oceanfront, you expect to be on the ocean. The walk was difficult as I was limping from a fall so I only went over once and am ususally on the beach two or three times a day. It was too far to take the kids more than once a day and the older ones could not play on the beach without an adult as we could not see them from the house. The description also lists linens provided. We found no towels, no bedsheets, no dishclothes or towels. Bring them with you.

Magical Time at Footprints

The view and sound of the ocean were incredible from this beautiful and luxurious home. The photos do not depict just how close you are to the water. The home was very clean and well maintained, and the decor was bright and cheerful with an island feel. The heart of Surf City which has many restaurants, shops, and several fishing piers, is a short walk or bike ride away. My husband and I rented bikes from Herrington's, which was only one block from the house. We rode 8 miles (each way) to the town of Topsail Beach and walked the south end of the island, (where the sound and the Atlantic converge), an incredible experience. One evening after dinner, we rode our bikes to the Surf City Family Park boardwalk which overlooks the sound and saw one of the most breathtaking sunsets I have ever seen. We turned to leave, looked to the east and magically, there was a full rainbow. It was magnificent! My family and I agreed that the favorite part of our Topsail Island vacation were the countless hours we spent on the covered deck drinking coffee, sharing meals and making memories while taking in the view of the ocean and feeling the constant breezes from this picturesque island. This home exceeded our expectations in every way! Thank you Shane and Lisa for allowing us to make your home our home for one enchanted week!

"We had a beautiful week at Footprints with all the family - Our sons, daughter-in-law, and five grandchildren including our dog, Cammie - A Dog Friendly Home and lots of room for everyone. The view was wonderful and the sound of the waves so inviting. Highly recommend this as the listing is accurate and much more. Don't forget to go to the Beach Shop and Grill - the best food by far and a gift shop that you won't want to miss. Many happy memories were made here with family. "

Our family has vacationed at Surf City at least one week every year for about 10 years. Last fall we rented Footprints unseen. We were delighted when we saw it on our arrival for a 3-month stay. We would never have asked for a more comfortable, convenient, and beautiful place with such a wonderful view of the ocean. I will recommend this to all of my friends because I know they would never be disappointed. The elevator was WONDERFUL! We will definitely book this again!

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. None of us had ever visited the Surf City area. I believe this house was perfect. The view was great, the beach wasn't over crowded and the house was just magnificent. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We are definitely coming back!
