Mid Century... Modern Pool Home
- Minimum stay:N/A

Featuring classic, mid-century, modern architecture, this beautiful, Non-Smoking home features three bedrooms, two baths, and 12' ceilings. The house is in the first neighborhood built by the famous Alexander Company in 1957 and designed by the architectural firm of Palmer and Krisel. The home has been recently renovated and has a new kitchen/bath/floors and has been painted to the original specifications of the architect. In addition, the landscaping has been newly designed by Mr. Krisel. All rooms have built-in stereo speakers and there are two flat panel TVs. The kitchen is equiped with all new Viking appliances but continues to evoke the style as originally built.
Clerestory windows frame wonderful blue-sky and starlit views from every room. The interior is light and bright with an open floor plan and a lovely view of your private pool and patio. This home is located in a quiet, wind-free neighborhood. The backyard is very private with beautiful mountain views from pool and sunning areas.

As soon as you drive up to the home, you know you're in for a very special experience. Located in the Twin Palms enclave of beautifully maintained Palmer & Krisel/Alexander homes, this one stands out as the jewel of the neighborhood. The front landscaping (designed in recent years by Krisel, himself) provides just a hint of the care that has gone into this home's restoration. Original period furnishings grace every room, creating a welcoming and decidedly upscale vibe. The upgraded master bath and kitchen (with all top-of-the-line appliances) provide modern conveniences without sacrificing style. The comfort of the master bedroom's bed was beyond compare. The home's museum-quality artwork is jaw-dropping. And the private outdoor pool area--with multiple seating configurations and more architectural pottery than you can count--will make you want to throw dinner parties every night (which would be entirely possible, given the well-equipped kitchen and outdoor grill). The tranquil views of the mountains through the palm trees complete the scene. I have come to Palm Springs periodically over the years to escape the brutal midwestern winters. None of the homes I have rented can compare to this one. It is relatively small (about 1600 square feet) and may not be a good choice for large gatherings. But for a few friends or small family, it is perfect. The location can't be beat. Neither can the feeling that this is what high-style and high-comfort living in Palm Springs is all about. In fact, the home was so relaxing and accommodating that I actually had to force myself to leave to explore the area during my two-week stay. The owner was great--very responsive to my questions and very pleasant and easy to work with. That made the whole experience even better--icing on the mid-century cake. If you are a mid-century buff, look no further. If you are looking for a relaxing and private get-away with every amenity, you've found your place. I, for one, will definitely be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
