Makaha condo description
Kitchen remodel and other upgrades done in June 2013, and new pictures added at that time.
Great location in Hawaii! Away from the crowds of Waikiki or Hanuama Bay but close enough to visit! Just up the Leeward shore of Oahu past Pearl Harbor, Ko'Olina and the new Disney resort (Aulani). Located on one of the best beaches on the island. Beautiful condominium on the ocean with private Lanai (balcony) with views of the whales and dolphins or you can watch the sea turtles. Great place to watch the sunset, too! Quiet area with Beautiful Pool and Spa.
Fully furnished condo with all the amenities of home. Freshly painted with new carpeting and murals painted on the walls by a local artist (Elbert East). Close to golfing and right out your door is a great place to go scuba diving or snorkeling. Visit Diamond Head, Honolulu Zoo, Polynesian Cultural Center, Sea Life Park, or just relax and watch the surfers. Great place for a family vacation with a beautiful beach and relaxing atmosphere.
Located on the fifth floor of the Famous Hawaiian Princess! Beautiful 180 degree views of the valley from the entrance and gorgeous views of the ocean from the lanai.
Wireless internet available for additional fees, depending on length of time needed.

We were surprised that the Property Manager did not get in touch with us after our arrival to ensure we had found it met our needs and comfort level. I did talk to the manager a couple of times when I called. We found the washer/dryer and the dishwasher to be quite noisy. There were no instructions inside the condo for procedures or etiquette for renters. We eventually found a copy in the lobby and used it. The condo was very nice. Parking was always available although the parking spots themselves should be a little wider - they were too tight. The proximity to the beach made it perfect for us. But, overall our stay was comfortable, quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the view from the lanai.

We just got back from Hawaii a month ago today and I'm already planning our next stay. This property was amazing! And now that I hear it is being remodelled, it makes me even more likely to stay here again in the future. The view was awesome! It was so nice to be right on the beach. The pictures were exactly what it is like. It was great to have wireless internet and parking. Everyone we came across was friendly. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the unit. We can't wait to come back! Our thanks to the owners and to Jan for making our stay a very pleasant one.

Manager response: We aim to make your vacation a wonderful experience and it is SO NICE to hear that people enjoy staying at our "piece of PARADISE" as much as we do!! Susan - We hope that we will see you again! Thanks for sharing your experience. We will post the new photos as soon as the remodel is done.
We stayed at the Princess in October 2012. The weather was unusually hot with no wind. The first night we were there, a family of locals were sending Chinese lanterns up in the air from the beach (at night). What a magical 1st night! FANTASTIC sunsets every evening which we enjoyed from the private lanai. The other guests and the staff were really friendly - everyone really enjoyed being there because you were away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. We enjoyed snorkeling at nearby Electric Beach but mostly just enjoyed relaxing on our very own beach, swimming in either the ocean or the swimming pool and enjoying the "hang loose" atmosphere. We will go there again!

Home away from home!
Home away from home!
We had 2 family reunions to attend. This was the first time not staying with family. It was truly home away from home. This was our Grandson's first trip to Hawaii and, he just loved every minute. The condo was perfect! The view was amazing! The beach was not crowded at all. A very quiet and peaceful place to be. Everything you could think of was in the condo. The fridge had an ice maker, there were coolers to use, sand toys, beach chairs, mats, beach towels, boogie boards. The washer and dryer came in very handy. Excellent communication between the owner and manager. The guards and staff were very friendly. We have already decided this is where we will stay if we return to Hawaii.

The Hawaiian Princess was the perfect get a way destination. With the hustle and bustle of work in California wearing us down, my friend and I needed a relaxing, non-touristy vacation. Makaha was a wonderful "local" experience. We spent the majority of our time on Oahu on the west side (with a couple trips to the North Shore for Matsumoto's Shave Ice mixed in) We stopped on our way to the condo to stock up on supplies at Cost Co and Safeway in Kapolei and during the week picked up things at local Tamuras. The condo had a fully stocked kitchen, many beach amenities and the convenience of in unit washer/dryer. The views from the lanai, the sounds of the waves and the seclusion of the semi-private beach were just what the doctor ordered to melt away our stress. I will definitely stay here again next time I make a trip to Oahu and would recommend it highly to anyone who needed a quiet get a way and didn't plan on doing a lot of sightseeing or tourist attractions.

Wow....that was sooooo nice!
Wow....that was sooooo nice!
What can I say? My wife and I absolutely loved this condo. It was well appointed, everything worked, beds were comfy, place was clean. Then there's the lanai....wow!!! The views are simply breath-taking, no joke, absolutely stunning. The grounds are well maintained, the guards & maintenance people were all very friendly and easy to talk with. Papaoneone Beach (turtle beach, whatever you call it)...it's like the lania, too good to be true...quiet, fun waves and, when calm, good snorkeling but you need to go about a hundred yards out for clarity (it's worth heading down to electric beach for some classic blue water snorkels). We had a hard time leaving and always couldn't wait to get back to the condo for a cold beer and sunset on the lanai. Location? We totally fell in love with Waiana'e! Can't wait to go back. Everyone we talked too was quick to smile and shoot the breeze. The place is a breath of fresh air ofter the zoo of Waikiki. The mountains are a beautiful backdrop. On major drawback is the restaurant scene...it doesn't exist! You got 2 choices repeatedly....fast food, cook at home (Costco on H2 is convenient). You got 2 choices to drive to occasioanly...Hanarras (good local food) and Kahumanu (sp?) Organic Farms (exceptional food). Other than that, drive to Ko Olina or further (Roy's Ko Olina is too die for!). Been avoiding Oahu for years, big mistake, the Hawaiian Princess is our new favorite. I hate not being there!

We loved the condo and the way it was set up so that you can hear the surf and the sunsets in the living room. Even have a conch shell that I learned to blow with the natives at sunset each day.. Whats missing...There were No tools to be able to use the bbq down stairs and No first aid kit or even bandaids. On the other hand it was well stocked for anything that you wanted to cook with pots and pans, serving dishes, chilled mugs and lots of ice, towels and the handy washer and dryer. Other than that it was clean, and steps away from the most beautiful snokeling, with turtles and fish everywhere.

We had a wonderful time enjoying the private beach life. The accommodations are accurately depicted in the pictures. Listening to the ocean waves at night and eating on the balcony overlooking the ocean was fantastik. We saw a whale spout one evening and came close to the turtles in the cove. We would stay here in a heartbeat again.

Turtles and more
The amazing swim I had on my last day during which I was the only one in the cove, sharing the water most notably with 2 beautiful sea turtles was just icing on the cake. The condo was great - comfortable, clean, with everything I needed. Thank you for a great stay!

We were here for two weeks and enjoyed every day. The unit is in need of some TLC but for the price it was great and we made good use of the beach toys, BBQ and kitchen. The bed was comfortable and everything we needed was available. The unit is exactly as pictured. Saw turtles every day and were able to snorkel every day but one (due to larger waves that day). The sea life was plentiful and gorgeous and there was plenty of room on the beach to spread out and relax. The Hawaiian Princess felt totally safe and secure and when we were out exploring the island it was nice to know that we had a wonderful, friendly place to come back to. Yes, it's a drive to get anywhere, but well worth the extra drive time.

About: Owners live in California, but come to spend 2 or 3 weeks each year in Hawaii.
Our family has always enjoyed staying in Hawaii and we love the ocean! We decided that this is where we would like to retire. We bought our place in Makaha so that some day we can spend all our time here - in the meantime, we rent it out so that others can enjoy the beautiful beach and all the amenities that the Hawaiian Princess has to offer. I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do! Aloha!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
You can watch the spinner dolphins frolick just off the point of Mt. Lahi and watch the whales and turtles from the lanai. We have a beautiful beach with local artists painting and drawing the beautiful scenery. You can buy it direct from them instead of picking it up at the expensive shops in Waikiki. The beach is not crowded and it is a great place to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city! Relax and Unwind!
