This fabulous vacation retreat lies in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, in the resort community of Cherokee Village, AR., just steps from the shores of Lake Thunderbird. Thunderbird is the largest lake in the area and is ideal for boating and water sports in the open water and fishing, swimming, canoeing or kayaking in the many coves around the lake. This lakefront retreat is absolutely the finest Ozark mountain vacation opportunity for you, your friends and your family. It features accommodations for up to 8 people in a 3000+ sq. ft. one level lakehouse on over one acre. There is a private boat house with dock (bring your boat or rent one!) on a beautiful, peaceful, quiet cove ....and, if you’re a fisherman, there are some great holes nearby! This retreat, selcluded on a private point is a romatic haven for two and a family vacation favorite, with plenty of parking for your cars and an RV or a boat or two!
The property is uniquely configured and consists of a main house with master suite; a guest wing on the side, with two bedrooms and bath and a bonus room on the front.
MAIN HOUSE.... includes the Music Room Master luxuriously furnished with Asian style bamboo king bed suite. Other rooms in the main house include a spacious living area with ample seating and full media components; a kitchen/dining area with a large oak harvest table that seats eight people; a "pantry"; laundry room and a wonderful "cedar" sunroom that looks out on Lake Thunderbird. At one end of the sunroom, there is a drop leaf table and 4 chairs for additional seating at mealtime. All rooms except the sunroom and kitchen are hardwood floors.
In the GUEST WING, SKYE-BLUE... the largest room, sparkles with a white wicker queen bed suite, french doors, sitting area and a beautiful, private, lakeside veranda. TIPPY CANOE....the smaller room, is a cozy, comfortable space with a two poster queen bed suite and lakeview.
BONUS ROOM..... a large family room area provides additional sleeping two twin beds and a second media setup.
Of course a vacation in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas means enjoying the outdoors as often as you can! This unique property has lots of outdoor living built right in! There is a large, over the water and tree sheltered veranda atop the boathouse. What a delightful place to spend an afternoon reading or a enjoy a leisurely dinner. In summer, the boats and their friendly passengers often pass by below. A large deck area just off the sunroom offers a quick trip into the sunshine and fresh air. Skye-Blue bedroom in the guest wing, features another private veranda with sparkling lake view and offers more outdoor living away from other guests in your party. If you are an early bird, a morning walk down by the lake will often result in a "wildlife moment"..... a turtle sunning itself on the dock or a magnificent blue heron gliding down on to the lake. So much opportunity to live the lake life, if even for just a few days!
The surrounding area is a veritable year-round playground for family fun and recreation! Cherokee Village offers two 18-hole championship golf courses, seven lakes for boating, fishing and swimming, community pools and fitness center complexes and dozens of parks and playgrounds. The Spring River is nearby and offers great kayaking and float trips! Nearby attractions include Mammoth Spring, at the mouth of the Spring River, which is just 20 minutes up the road. There, in addition to the magical spring, you'll find an old railroad museum and park with walking trail around the lake. The town of Mammoth Spring is full of fun shops and galleries. Old Towne Hardy, a wonderful historic district with quaint shops and lots of Ozark Crafts is just 10 minutes away. This is delightful town with its old boardwalks, ice-cream parlors and many antique shops gives visitors the flavor of the Ozark Mountains at its very best!
The spectacular Blanchard Caverns is a fantastic natural and living cave system, located near Mountain View, which is also home to the Ozark Folk Center, with it's living museum and numerous music venues. A "must do" day trip is one to Mountain View with a visit to both Caverns and the Center.
