My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at this cute and unique apartment. Fun decorating, absolutely the best location imaginable! Walked everywhere, enjoyed the neighborhood thoroughly. There's a grocery/butcher within a block, 3 restaurants across the street (recommend the one DIRECTLY across from the door!), a block+ from Campo di Fiori market. No matter what was happening on the streets it was quiet for sleeping. A bit damp - the courtyard area is closed off and tends to hold the moisture - but nothing we aren't used to being from the Seattle area! The apartment was clean and well stocked with all we needed. Owner provided a marvelous assistant in managing all our difficulties - Domatilla picked us up at the airport and also helped us with the loss of our luggage, finally driving back to the airport to pick it up herself! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Stayed for two weeks in March. Great location, safe area, restaurants, shops, grocery store nearby. Very helpful having arrangements made by the friendly property manager to provide rides to and from airport. Only drawback is that the apartment is a bit damp.

We loved the location of this apartment. Many small markets, restaurants and shops close by. Piazza Navona just down the street. Campo de Fiore market a few blocks away. Express bus 40 and bus 64 would take us to the Vatican or to Termini. It was a comfortable apartment for the week we stayed in Rome.

Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Wish we could have stayed longer here. Cute apt ..... opt for the air conditioning... we should have, but didnt. would have made it less muggy as Rome can be in the summer. We didnt get it as we were rarely in the suite. If i knew rome was this amazing and so much fun, we would have tried to stay longer. This place is within walking distance to EVERYWHERE!!!! we walked to the pantheon, the vatican, the colloseum and not to mention piazza nuovona. Which was unreal. Try the food across the street at the bar. great food and amazing service, friendly people .... such a great location is all i can say!!! thanks!

My husband and I did a sort of tour of Italy for our honeymoon in May of 2011. While in Rome, we stayed at this lovely apartment. It was so incredibly cute and cozy. The location was great. There is a FANTASTIC restaurant across from the entrance to the apartment...It's ideal. We loved it!!!

I am a VRBO owner 165144, and would like to give Alessandro a great review for a great flat in a perfect location. I just returned from my trip to Italy, Aug 13th and had spent 3 days in the Gold apt. in Rome. The flat was perfect for myself my wife and my daughter. Alessandro the owner had set up a ride for us from the airport, which is located around 30 minutes away. We met him at the flat, he was very nice and attentive. We did pay the $6 Euros a day extra for the AC, well worth it. The flat is locted in a central location, safe neighborhood and within walking distance to everything. Piazza Navona is about a 7 minute walk, cafes, wine bars and shops just out the door of the apt building. I would definatly stay there again. Thank you Alessandro!

Gold Apartment - Less than meets the eye

Our theory is that the Gold and Platinum apartments were once one apartment, which would explain the lack of windows, small size, and odd door to the "Gold" that we rented. Although technically not underground, the apartment looks, feels, and smells like a basement apartment. We walked in to be overwhelmed by the smell of cleaning product that still could not disguise the odor of mold. There is one six inch window so high up (and above the air conditioning unit) that you need a remote control to open it, and one other that is bigger and also very high, but can be accessed on the staircase that leads to the loft. Neither window emits any light; even in broad daylight, the apartment is totally dark, necessitating the need to have the lights on anytime you enter. Air conditioning is a necessity due to total lack of air flow. The fact that the owner offers air conditioning as an option is baffling, because the place would be unbearable without it. The location is in the heart of centro storico as advertised, but in the six years I've rented in Rome, I've rented much better apartments in equally central locations for comparable rates. And, frankly, if you want my advice, rent in Trastevere. You'll be within walking distance of Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Campo de' Fiori, the Vatican, etc., without being in tourist central when you walk out of the building. And you might even bump into a Roman or two.

This was our second stay ( 10 days) in Alessandro's wonderful apartment.You could not wish for a more perfect location and it was great to find a new supermarket just minutes down the street.Open the street door and you are spoilt for choice- coffee, lunch, dinner or gelati. The web site is honest and true in every respect: location as well as what you will find in the apartment which is a beautifully designed and comfortable space, ideal for two. The photos are very accurate and reflect the appearance and facilities exactly.As before, we found the apartment spotless with excellent linen. Alessandro is a warm, generous and extrememley helpful host.His response to emails is always immediate.We loved staying here so much that we often came home for lunch or siesta- "when in Rome"... Everything you could possibly wish to see, experience and visit is within walking distance.There is a very helpful tourist office at the northern end of P. Navona.We highly recommend making your way to the Via Apia Antica - ancient Roman road, also dont miss San Clemente and Castel Sant' Angelo. For pizza without a queue we recommend La Buffeta- just off Campo de Fiori We would happily recommend the apartment and have done so already.We saved the best til last- this was our final stop in an 8 week journey in northern Italia.Once again we threw some coins in the fountain and hope very much to return to this beautiful apartment in our favourite city, once more.

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying in the Platinum apartment in March last year. You can't ask for anything better. The location allowed us to walk EVERYWHERE, including the Borghese gardens and the Vatican, and our favorite restaurants were just steps away. The area was perfect for strolling around at night, and we always felt very safe. Mario was so friendly and helpful in taking our reservation and answering all of our questions, and was quick to respond to emails. I can't wait until we have the opportunity to stay here again.

The Roman Holiday Suite was more than what we could have asked for. It's location provided easy walking access to nearly every sight in Rome. Mario and Alessandra were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Alessandra was waiting for us with the keys right on time and we were in awe even before we got to the apartment realizing how great the neighborhood was. There are plenty of restaurants and shops and even a grocery store on the same street. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is very tastefully decorated. I rented Alessandro's flat in Rome for the month of July 2010; it was a perfect location for sightseeing, transportation, and enjoying being a resident of Rome. The area is very safe, even late at night walking back to the flat. I could walk to all the important sights in Rome which also gave me the opportunity to chance upon and discover new sights and experiences. The street itself and the whole neighborhood is absolutely charming, friendly and fun with new alleyways to explore filled with shops and cafes. I walked everywhere and really felt the hearbeat of this intense and beautiful city. The flat itself is well maintained and stocked with all the basic necessities and comforts. There is a grocery a block away as well as Campo di Fiori for farm fresh produce. Alessandro the apartmnet owner is extremely gracious, helpful, and accommodating, and I would certainly rent this place again. The neighborhood is like a 16th century Greenwich Village.

Our 6 days in Alessandro's flat near Piazza Navona was a highlight of our recent Italy/Mediterranean vacation. The location is perfect, walkable to all major sites (the only transit we took was one way taxi to the Borghese Gallery). The apartment is so well stocked and grocery convenient (one block away) that we were able to eat light breakfasts in with ease. It is on a busy, hip, and partying street, but the ground floor/rear location means you hear none of that. Check in/out/reservations were quite simple and smooth. Hope to visit Rome and this flat again soon!

After spending countless hours looking for quaint AND affordable lodging in Rome, I was thrilled to find the Roman Holiday Suite near Piazza Navona. Alessandro, the owner, was very easy to work with over email, and he made our getting to and into the apartment very easy. The area outside the apartment is THE spot to be in Rome. There are numerous excellent restaurants & cafes and tons of great boutiques for window-shopping. You're also just steps away from the major tourist sites and from the #40 bus stop -- this bus gets you everywhere you want to be in Rome! Inside, the apartment is clean, charming and stocked with everything you need. Great appartment and location, located very central, less than 10 mins walking from the Vatican in the North, less than 30 mins walking from the Colloseum in the South. The appartment is clean, large enough for 2-3 persons, in a busy area but you don't notice anything from that. Thanks A.

Great little place with a wonderful location. About 2 minutes away from Piazza Navona and 5-20 minutes walk to the major sites: Vatican, Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Pantheon. We loved all of the little shops and restaurants along the small streets in the area and a grocery was 2 minutes away as well. The nearby Pizzeria Bafetto and the gelato place next to it were great places to eat. I would recommend to any couple and we will hopefully stay there again someday. Thanks!

This apartment was everything we could have asked for. It was in a fabulous area near the Piazza Navona, and many cafes. There was a grocery store nearby, and is located near several types of public transportation systems which got us quickly to the Roman Forum, Colosseum, Vatican, and other important ancient structures. The apartment was in a safe area and was darling, as shown in the pictures! The owner is gracious and accomodating. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

What a wonderful little apartment! We were a little anxious to have reserved an apartment using only the internet pictures and the website guest comments as the basis for our booking, but we were not disappointed. The apartment was spotless, looked exactly as it does in the website photos, and is in an incredible location just steps away from Piazza Pasquino and Piazza Navona. We would walk to all the major sights in the mornings, return after lunch and then usually spend the evening close to the apartment going to many of the restaurants and gelaterias nearby. Everything you need is right there...grocery store, wine store, café, gelato, a variety of clothing and jewellery shops, restaurants, pizzerias, enotecas (wine bars), and more. We loved the apartment and were especially thrilled with its location. Thank you Alessandro, for providing this little gem.

This apartment is even better than we had hoped it would be! The apartment is very quiet, comfortable and welcoming; Alessandro is the perfect host. Via del Governo Vecchio is a curved steet right in the heart of the city, pulsing with life and lined with great little cafes, shoppes, and even an Irish Pub. Check out Da Buffetto right down the street for best pizza in the city; go early because the line is 15 parties deep by 7pm! Ciccia Bomba, just a few doors away in the opposite direction is another great little dinner spot. We walked to all the sights from the apartment; the location couldn't be better. You will LOVE this place!

We just stayed in this great apartment. It is a beautiful little jewel right in the middle of one of the most interesting areas of Rome. The perfect size for 2 people, it is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. All of the comforts of home and more are included. It is within walking distance of the Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and many great restaurants and wine bars. Good shopping is also nearby. Alessandro was very helpful and easy to deal with. Weve rented many apartments in Rome, but this is by far the best. A luxury rental at a good price! We'll definitely be back.

Had a wonderful in this gorgeous little apartment. The location is perfect for beautiful evening walks and in an ideal spot for getting around the city. We ate out every night - never having to go too far away from home. The ice cream shop a couple of doors away is well worth a visit (or ten) too! I'd highly recommend it.

We stayed 1 week in this most wonderful apartment. You could not find a better location. The apartment itself was spotless and incredibly comfortable, ideal for 2. The decor is brilliant. We loved being there so much we ate at home several times. It is very true to the web site and worth every euro!(which was very reasonable considering it is Rome and the most perfect location)We could not fault it. It was our final destination after 8 weeks in southern Italy and a most wonderful way to end our journey. There is a great gelati shop a couple of doors away and a great bar for coffee on the opposite side and a few doors down. There is an excellent supermarket 6 minutes away going towards the Pantheon. What a GREAT location! You couldn't be in a better neighborhood to enjoy touring Roma. We could walk to EVERYTHING and when we came home exhausted from walking, restaurants, cafes, shops, everything was all right outside our front door. We had a great stay at the Roman Holiday Suite. It's just like the photos - small but nicely furnished. The location is fantastic. There's a little cafe (serving great cappucinos)right across the street. It's an easy walk to all the sights including Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori, Castle Sant'Angelo and more.
