  Folks, I'd like to tell you about our stay at the cabin. At first I was let down by the view. We usually stay higher up. After the first sunset and sunrise I was in love with the view. The cabin is very easy to find. I did not like one of the hills, but got over it. We had plenty of room for all of us. The price cannot be beaten. We had plenty of towels and bedding.   My family and I just returned from a four night stay at Halfway to Heaven. This cabin is a delightful retreat not far from downtown Gatlinburg which was very nice for the younger family members who craved the hustle and bustle of the resort area. It is also near the entrance to the Park which thrilled us "old timers"! The cabin is very clean and has everything you could possibly need to be comfortable. A big plus for us was the fact that our dog was a welcomed guest, too. We had a wonderful time...no bears, but lots of squirrels plus a beautiful snowfall. Thank you so much for sharing your Gatlinburg retreat with us!

  Property was very family friendly. It had a large comfortable living room for everyone to visit. We never left and spent lots of time in the kitchen cooking. House was clean, owners vry helpful.

  The first thing you expect when walking in is an old cabin smell. Not True!!! It smelt very clean and not old at all. It was a great location. Loved the view. Any question I had before or during the trip was answered promptly by the owners. I would definitely recommend this place. Try flapjacks for breakfast. It was great.

  This was our family's second stay at Halfway to Heaven. It is a great location and a very nice view of Mt. LeConte. Val is very easy to work with and responds quickly both before our stay and while there. We had a plumbing problem but he responded quickly and it was taken care of. The cabin is spacious and has most all of the items needed. Our family again enjoyed staying there and hope to return again in the near future.

  Had a great time on our visit. We had 4 couples and all had plenty of room. Did not get too see any bears, but enjoyed Gatlinburg and the park. The property was clean and had great views, we were very close to the Park and Gatlinburg was just down the street. Very quiet neighborhood. Would recommend this Chalet as a repeat, We had our 2 little dog with us .

  If you want to see bears this is the place. The first morning a bear was on the deck. The 2nd morning momma bear brought her cubs. This chalet is located minutes from the Gatlinburg strip & the entrance to the national park so if that is where you want to spend your time the location is good. There is a nice little place to have an evening campfire. The kitchen is well stocked. If you want excellent mountain views and a deck to just relax on this is not the place. The photo of the "view" was obviously taken from the small deck off the MBR and when there were no leaves on the trees so the view looks larger than it is. There is a better view of the chalet across the yard than the mountain. I have stayed in mountain cabins many times and this does not have a great view, it is closer to "wooded view". If it did have a great view, and being a 5br I would suggest investing in a little more deck furniture other than a small round plastic table and 5 plastic chairs. The pool is nice, has a nice little payground for younger kids and is just minutes away. If you are taller than a fifth grader I would not recommend the master bath. The chalet was musty smelling but well covered up on the top 2 floors by lots of air fresheners by the vents. Honestly this is the 1st time I've stayed in a chalet in the woods so I cannot compare, maybe all chalets in the woods are like this. All in all not a bad place, the biggest disappointment is the lack of views and no deck furniture.

  Owner response: We had the trimmed a few years ago to open up the view. Over that time the trees have started growing back, obscuring the view. We will have tree trimmers back to the cabin this winter to open the view back up. We believe the musty smell is coming from the upstairs carpet. Although we had the carpet cleaned before the summer, the musty smell persists. We have already contracted to have the carpet removed and install wood flooring in September. We plan to replace the patio furniture with high quality furniture when we are at the cabin in September. We really do try our best to address issues as they are brought to our attention. We truly want to offer a quality cabin at a fair price!

  Our family had a wonderful experience at Halfway to Heaven Chalet. We had six adults, four teenagers and a one year old and it was great space for us all. The kitchen and den area were great for congregating. The kitchen is nicely equipped kitchen and having a grill was great. Conveniently located close to Gatlinburg. Would definitely stay here again when in the area. The owners were amazing to deal with. We had an issue with the security system and they were very responsive and helped to resolve the issue.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

  we had a great time. I had my girl scout troop there were 11 kids and 6 adults. the kids really loved it, especially the hot tub . we didn't get to see any bears but they did see a owl. the cabin was clean and nice, there was plenty of towels. the only thing i would sugest is to have softer beds.but we loved our stay and didn't want to go home. we spent time in Gatlinburg, went to the aquremium. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your cabin. we would recommend it to others. The owners were great to work with. very helpful and nice.

  We had a very relaxing weekend. I was impressed with all the room. We had a large family of 14 and had plenty of room. Cabin was well stocked and we enjoyed cooking homemade meals and enjoyed saving the cost of eating out. Photos were very accurate and the place was very clean. Val and Renee were very nice to deal with and answered me were promptly. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and relatives. We took the recommendation of eating at Calhouns and really enjoyed it.
