Casa Tomas has 2 master bedrooms, each with it's own private bath and there is a living/dining area and complete kitchen. It is totally separate and private from the 2 bedroom vacation rental downstairs. Casa Tomas occupies the entire second floor of a beautiful two-story property less than 500 yards from the Mexican Caribbean. You are within walking distance of a public beach, shopping, restaurants and the main square downtown.
The grounds feature a garden with tropical plants, flowers and trees, a two-level swimming pool with a rock fountain, patio areas with cushioned lounge chairs and Adirondack chairs, a gas grill and sink, palapa covered patio with a table, chairs and 4 double size hammocks, outdoor shower, dive rinse tank, secure drying areas for scuba or snorkeling equipment and off-street secure parking inside the gates.
You are two streets from a very large grocery store complete with deli, bakery, pharmacy, liquor, and a handy ATM machine. Nearby is a modern new multi-screen movie theatre, there is a public beach within walking distance (south) plus restaurants, shops and the main square (north) are also within walking distance.
There's a small front terrace plus a private screened porch that overlooks the pools and garden. The kitchen is fully-equipped including stove/oven, refrigerator, blender, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cookware, spice rack, dishes and glasses including wine and margarita glasses.
The maids use the washer and dryer during the day for laundry of the sheets and towels, but after the maid leaves and all day Sunday guests have use of the washer and dryer on site for their personal laundry.
The air conditioning can be set thermostatically in each room via a hand held remote. Furnishings are Mexican Colonical upholstered in imported fabrics, there are fully lined custom made curtains and local decorations include Mexican talavera pottery, ceramics, original oil paintings and metal sculpture. There’s a small safe for valuables, color TV with cable, DVD player and DVD movies, CD player, music CDs and a reading library.
Internet access is free, (wireless only) so bring your laptop if you wish...the system is secure. If you bring your laptop, we can provide you with a magicJack unit that will connect to your computer, giving you free long distance calls to the U.S. and Canada. Special cushioning foam is on both of the king size beds for extra comfort, (one king can be changed to 2 twins if requested in advance) there's a pressurized water system, fold away drying rack, hair dryer in each bathroom plus an iron and ironing board.
Built to American standards, you'll find it's impeccably maintained, well equipped, and extremely comfortable plus the outdoor area with it's patios, garden and two-level swimming pool and fountain is a tropical delight. For larger groups, the entire property will accommodate up to 11 guests.

- Shared Pool: There are 2 separate areas to the swimming pool, and the pool is shared only with guests staying at the downstairs 2 bedroom. There is the main pool and a slightly raised area with a small rock fountain and a built in bench. The depth of the main pool goes from approximately 3 feet to 5 feet deep. The slightly raised pool area with the bench and fountain is 3 feet deep. Pool and beach toys are provided.

- Full Kitchen: The refrigerator has a top freezer, the stove/oven is large and there is a microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven and blender. There is a spice rack and all dishes, flatware and glassware are provided including wine glassed and margarita glasses. We also provide a cooler you can take to the beach
- Cooking Utensils Provided: The kitchen has a selection of pots and pans (including some T-Fal and stainless Calphalon cookware) and cooking utensils are provided including spatulas, large spoons, a corkscrew, etc.
- Refrigerator: The top freezer of the refrigerator has lots of ice trays!

- Catering Available: Private cook service is available. They can provide full service (breakfast and dinner 6 days a week) or you can schedule just one or two special dinners during your stay. Email for details

- Gas/Electric BBQ Grill: Outdoor gas grill with a sink and food preparation area.
- Deck/Patio (2) : There are 2 covered patios, each with a table and chairs. The large palapa covered patio has a wrought iron table and comfortable, cushioned chairs plus 4 double sized hammocks. There is a large paved area around the pool with cushioned lounge chairs and Adirondack chairs, an area of grass plus flowers and trees and a large tropical shade tree.
- Lanai: There is a lovely little screened in porch just off the living/dining room area and it overlooks the garden and pools.
- Communications
- Telephone: Phones are for local, 7 digit numbers but are programmed so you can call the international 800 numbers for Sprint, MCI or ATT if you have those long distance services. Numbers are posted by the phone.
- Free Long Distance: Bring a laptop with a USB port and we can provide you with a magicJack unit that connects to your computer. With it, you can make free long distance calls to the U.S. and Canada. Please request in advance.
- WiFi (Wireless Internet): Free internet access (wireless only and it is a secure system), so bring your laptop if you'd like.

Why the Owner Chose Cozumel Island
After years of vacationing on Cozumel and a number of other destinations, it became clear that Cozumel had the most to offer. Prices are reasonable, it’s easy to fly to Cozumel from both the U.S. and Canada, the weather is marvelous, there is world class scuba diving and it’s known as a safe, family destination.

After living most of my life in Texas (Houston, Austin, Dallas and Tyler) since May 2000 I have lived on Cozumel in a home only a few blocks from our vacation rental, Villas Topaz. How wonderful to live on this beautiful island with sandy beaches, scuba diving, snorkeling and all around the island are the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean. I have found my paradise. Cozumel offers an environment I feel is remarkably safe, the people are warm and friendly and the weather is fantastic.
