"Great weather for our honeymoon this week! We didn't hear many loons, but we did spot one while kayaking on Jordon Pond. The pond was quiet and has beautiful views. The carriage roads were better than we expected. We took the Jordon Pond Loop and loved every minute of it. This island is beautiful. We look forard to bringing our future kids here for some adventures."

"It was an amazing week. All of the hiking showed us what we are made of. Mt. Acadia had the best views and the Beehive was the most rewarding. The lake was just warm enough for a late afternoon dip. Mike continued his streak of not catching any fish! Dinner at the Tan Turtle as good as was the steak at the Fiddler on the Green. Biking was an adventure at ups and downs, who thought the carriage roads would be so hilly, poor horses. It was an amazing week, what a great place to get away."

"What a wonderful place to retreat to after a busy day of exploring! It was really nice to stay on the 'quiet side' for a change. Thank you for your hospitality! We had a wonderful time exploring the carriage roads, bicycling, watching the waves, and just drinking in the beauty of this island. Truly a wonderful place to relax!"

"We returned for a wonderful third stay at Echo Lake View Cottage...each return trip seems better than the last! We were lucky to have beautiful weather. Activities included hikes-Great Head, Gorham Mtn. & Bowl, Beech Mtn, Connor's Nubble, Shipwreck; Biking-Eagle Lake & Hadlock Brook loops; Swimming-Echo Lake & Sand Beach. Matt (9) made it half way across Echo Lake-his goal is all the way across for next visit! Fishing-Ted & Michelle caught many brook trout on Echo Lake and mackerel from pier at Beal's in SW Harbor (over 70 fish combined!) Eating-lobster at Beal's Gallery Restaurant, 2 trips to Tan Turtle, pizza in Bar Harbor, fish on grill at cottage....All in all, we crammed seemingly every waking hour into enjoying this beautiful area!! We also were able to relax & enjoy tranquil ocean waves and awesome mountaintop views!! Family bonding & "active rest" combined for a wonderful vacation. Thank you Wilma & George! Hope to be back in 2 years!"

"George & Wilma, the cottage was really comfortable, we loved the deck for our morning coffee. We had a great week, more like autumn than summer but that's what you expect in Maine. Your advice on the Tan Turtle was right on the mark. Our vegetarian daughter said it was her favorite restaurant on the island. We all got a lot of exercise hiking trails and kayaking on Echo Lake. Every time we visit MDI we are taken by the beauty of the place and still think it has the most spectacular views in the East."

"We had a lot of fun staying in this house. It was the perfect size for a big family of five like ourselves. Having a spot on the lake all to us was also very enjoyable. As a whole, we loved staying here and hope to be back next summer. P.S. If you plan on going to 'The Tan Turtle', we recommend getting there early because if you don't the wait can be very long!"

"Probably the rainiest vacation EVER! But of course that doesn't hamper the hearty MDI vacationer!! We are now at the age of 'family appreciation' and have had great family time, with our children joining us from New Hampshire for part of the 2 weeks we have spent here. You can't beat that! We must echo the previous tenants enjoyment of the 'Tan Turtle' and recommend you study the menu prior to going. As always, the cottage comfortably accommodated us, and we hold you, George & Wilma, dear, as our extended family and friends. Thank you, Alison, for not allowing us to remain wallflowers, although your mom & I surely did a great 'chair dance' at the SW Harbor Block Party. We look forward to you visiting our neighborhood in March. As always, with love, Tom & Dale"

"Wilma & George, Thank you for your hospitality. We took your advice on the Tan Turtle and had a great lunch there. We particularly loved the deck; just right to drink our morning coffee or relax after a long hike. For all you hikers out there, we would recommend Acadia Mt. just down the road. The views are amazing. Thanks again for everything, we would love to stay here again."

"Wilma & George, We had a wonderful week in Acadia-biking the carriage trails, hiking, tide pooling, and swimming. Our favorite places included Jordan Pond restaurant for popovers and the Tan Turtle Tavern for dinner. We also really enjoyed the Cabaret show at the Deck House and would recommend it highly to any family with children. Our kids had a fantastic vacations and we look forward to coming back. Being able to have Kody, our dog, with us on hikes was a treat!"
