  It was my first trip to Myrtle Beach, actually my first vacation ever, so my expectations were kinda high. The owners were absolutlely great to work with; communication was excellent and they offered express check-in. We drove right to the house without having to wait in the LONG line at check-in! The house was perfect for the 3 of us (my son is 11). It was very clean and stocked with dishes, cleaning supplies, extra pillows, blankets, etc. The coffee maker was smaller than expected so we bought one (we drink a lot of coffee) but no big deal. We spent every morning with our cofffe cups on the swing on the deck. There are no big houses across from us so we were able to watch the fireworks every night from the deck. The golf cart was the best! Really a lifesaver. You NEED a golfcart to get around. We were on the golfcart more than we weren't! We used the grill daily. Had to make a couple of runs to Food Lion for more charcoal! The shed was stocked with beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie board, beach toys, etc. We brought our own but had to use the umbrella when the wind destroyed ours! Ocean Lakes is an excellent place for families. We know of many families who spend their vacations there. No one has ever had a bad thing to say about it. We are actually looking into getting our own place at Ocean Lakes but in the meantime, we will definitely stay at this house again. Thank you so much for a great vacation!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car.

  We just got back from a 2 week vacation staying here, and it was FANTASTIC!!! We too loved the deck, where we'd often sit and watch the squirrels play in the shade trees above. My daughters discovered that the cabinets over their beds were actually bunkbeds that easily folded down, and they thought this was "so cool". The decor was lovely, definitely NOT the mismatched hand-me-downs you'd expect for a home in this price range. Having the golf cart included was an incredible value, and the cart itself was MUCH nicer than what you pay a fortune to rent through the campground. By far this home is the best value in Ocean Lakes that we have seen on the web. We will definitely rent here again and would highly recommend!
