We were 5 minutes to the Mayo Clinic & Hospital and stayed at the property for one month with 2 people having surgeries and 9 people at the house which is laid out very well for the amount of people we had there. The area is very residential and quiet in a good neighborhood with a shopping center only 1 block away. The property was in need of some TLC, and had appliances replaced quickly as we called about them. The property also needed some cleaning which we did ourselves. The landscaping needs some TLC but is servicable and well laid out for people to relax outside. Overall, I have very high standards of cleanliness and once the house was cleaned by us, it was very servicable for the large gathering of people who we had staying there for the whole month. We were not people who went out so we were there for the entire month. I would recommend the property for anyone who wants a very comfortable, relaxing home-because that is what it is-a vacation home, with area rugs, pictures on the walls, it feels relaxing and comfortable, with a lovely back yard to spend your afternoons outside watching the hummingbirdsbuzz all over the trees.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Dirty, empty house with poor management

I was very disappointed overall with this rental and think that anyone interested in renting in the Scottsdale area could do much better. Before even arriving at the house it was difficult to get in contact with the management company to even find out how to get the keys or get an address for the house. After several calls, emails and faxes I was finally contacted by the management company to find out where to get the keys only 2 days before my arrival. I was not contacted at all by the owner to give me any information what-so-ever about the house. The house itself was beat up and is in need of some TLC. There were 2 1/2 rolls of toilet paper for 7 people and 5 nights, one roll of paper towels (and very cheap ones I might add) and not a single hand towel in the kitchen. There was no hand soap at any of the sinks (including kitchen and bathrooms). There was no laundry soap, no dish soap or scrub brush to wash dishes with. There were very minimal towels for showering. There were no curtains on several of the windows including the front bathroom which had a window that looked straight out into the front yard. If you're incredibly short this might not be a problem. There were absolutely no instructions given what-so-ever about the house; there were none left by email or left in the house. This included no instructions on how to use the hot tub which was cold. There wasn't a single pen or piece of paper in the house. I usually rent houses for extended vacations when I need the comfort and accomodations of a home. If I didn't need these things I would get a hotel. In this case I would have been MUCH better off in a hotel. For just a short, 5-night stay I was not really planning on paying for laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, t.p., paper towels, hand towels, cooking oil.... That obviously would've added a lot of money on to the stay and I would not have been able to take all of those things with me by plane when I left the house. And if I did buy these things and leave them I'm sure the bad management company would probably clean the house and keep the things for themselves. I find it hard to believe that previous visitors didn't leave things like this behind which makes it obvious that when the management company comes in to clean the place they rob it dry. I also did contact the management company to talk about this complaint and NEVER heard a word back from them. Even when I dropped the keys off to them they acted like I never left a message with them.
Owner response:We are saddened to hear that you did not have the experience which we strive for with every guest to this beautiful home. We love this house and stay here ourselves. I email a check-in package which provides my number, the phone number and address of the property management company and instructions to pick up the keys at the office prior to arrival. I apologize for any confusion. Inside the kitchen cabinet the phone numbers for the spa maintenance person, landscaper, etc. for your reference. The property manager is 10-minutes away and one of the best in Scottsdale. In addition, you always have the direct number to my cell phone if you cannot reach them. We have talked with our property management company about your stay. We hope that you can understand that for health and safety reasons, we do not leave consumable items from previous guests. Thank you for the comments on the laundry soap, dish soap, 8 towel sets, curtain (nobody mentioned the high smaller decorative window before), etc., all of which we are happy to help with if you had let us know during your stay. Please call me directly if the property management is unavailable. I am happy to make some exceptions to have them bring you some soap, towels, etc. for no extra charge. That is the way we do business. We have the highest standards in vacation rental management including a maintenance person that is on call essentially 24 hours a day; due for carpet cleaning and will be scheduled. He knows the house very well and can show you how to run the spa or anything else in the house for that matter. But only if you call and let us know you are dissatisfied. We truly want you to have fond memories of our home.

We stayed at this property in December 2006 and are making a return visit in February 2009 and we can't wait. Great location. Wonderful back yard and hot tub. Home was very clean and classy! great price for top notch property.
