The perfect romantic getaway for two, Blackberry Cottage at Reems Creek, is nestled in a small community midway up Snowball Mountain. As you make the drive, while the road follows Reems Creek and bridges cross it, notice a wonderful feeling of peace and tranquility. It is a truly magical setting in which to relax, unwind and breathe in all the beauty of nature.
Upon your arrival at the cottage you will delight in perennials, raspberries, apples, a small stream in back and the cascading headwaters of Reems Creek across the road. You are just upstream from trout stocked waters and surrounded by creeks, streams, waterfalls, mountains and lush trees. Some of the best hiking and nature strolls are right outside your door! Waterfalls await in either direction, yet you are only 10 to 20 minutes from dining, activities and shopping.
As you enter the cottage you will sense a cozy, joyful retreat from the hectic pace of life. From the warm tan walls, to the inviting hardwood floors and comfortable furnishings you will find lots of reasons to feel welcome here. All you need to bring is food, clothing and toiletries (although there is a small basket of shampoo, deodorant, etc. should you forget anything.)
An open living area features a 37' LCD TV with DISH Network, a VCR/DVD player with theater sound and a CD player. You will find a collection of movies and music for entertainment. A comfy reading chair awaits your favorite books. The quiet Hunter ceiling fan and gas log stove enhance your comfort and enjoyment.
A large bedroom, with a romantic atmosphere, features a spacious closet, a vanity table with lighted make-up mirror, a quiet Hunter ceiling fan and a chair for reading or relaxing. Slumber in the plush comfort of your Simmons Beautyrest KING size bed. Luxurious 100% cotton sheets, a selection of pillows (soft, firm and contour memory foam), as well as soft blankets and comforters, ensure a restful night’s sleep!
After a day of fun and exploration, you may want to unwind in the comfortable chairs on the covered porch or relax in the backyard by a small stream enjoying a fire in the firepit. Either way, you will enjoy the woodsy setting in a mountain atmosphere.

Blackberry Cottage was just what they said it would be and more. We loved the sound of the creek bubbling outside the bedroom window. The perfect location for a base if you want to sight see. We went to Mt Mitchell ( the highest elevation east of the Mississippi) The scenery was breathtaking everytime you turned around. Our trip to Biltmore was wonderful. Be sure when you go to Weaverville you check out Well Bred Bakery and Jack of Hearts. The owners showed in the pictures exactly what you get. It's too bad they cannot put sound of the running water with it! Hope to go back again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the cozy cottage together after a long day of exploring the surrounding area. All of the attractions were a short, country drive from the cottage. Thank you for sharing your place with us and for handling all of the formal details in a timely manner. We hope to return soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

The drive to the cottage was beautfiul. The temperature was always about 10 degrees cooler at the cottage than down in the valley (in May). We never needed the air conditioner or the heater. And, OH... believe all the reviews when it comes to the comfort of the king-sized bed! Why can't all vacation rentals invest a little more in the comfort of the beds like this one? The neighbors next door and across the road were very nice and quiet folks. I enjoyed watching the little toddler boy next door try to "help" his daddy in the family garden. The cottage was clean and smelled nice. The bathroom and bedroom looked and felt like accomodations you'd find in a nice hotel... very bright and cheery. I liked that this cottage was pet-free and smoke-free. (I LOVE pets and have several of my own, but I don't like living in their living area.) We enjoyed the library of jazz music CDs, and the flat-screen TV and sound system were perfect for veiwing the DVDs we rented from the Ingles a few miles away in the valley. Thanks to my husband, we didn't have to use the kitchen much. He fixed our breakfasts, and we ate our dinners out in Asheville which was a scenic 15-minute drive away. The kitchen seemed to have everything you might need to prepare meals. (No dishwasher machine, but hopefully you'll have someone in your party who will wash dishes for you, like I did!) We had a juvenille robin (bird) try to join us on the front porch one afternoon, but his mom (or dad?) came with his afternoon snack and lured him on down the hill away from us. A warning: if you wear a bright pink shirt while relaxing on the porch, the hummingbirds may try to visit with you also! :) It is always difficult to get a true picture of a rental situation from photos online. I think this rental was accurate in describing the cottage. The owner, Bill, was articulate and prompt with his email communications. His driving directions were easy to follow, and our GPS also worked in leading us to the remote location of this cottage. The owner was also prompt to return our deposit within just a few days after our departure. Thanks, Bill! I hope we'll be able to make another visit someday. My husband and I give this place an enthusiastic "two-thumbs-up."Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We so enjoyed our stay at Blackberry cottage!!! The drive to & from the cottage everyday was beautiful with all the fall foliage. We enjoyed seeing the turkeys & walking up & down the creek. The sound of the water rushing from across the road was so peaceful. All the little amenities & touches were wonderful, especially sitting with a cup of hot cocoa in front of the gas log heater after the long day was great!! Even though it was so cold, we still enjoyed the weather. Just missed the snow by a few days!!! Scenic drive on the parkway, Lake Lure, Black Mountain, Hendersonville, & Asheville was great shopping!!! Our week there was great & we now want a bed like the one at the cabin. I swear I slept about 8-12 hr every night!! The local eateries were great also. Look forward to being able to come back!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

A very big THANK YOU for sharing your lovely second home - we have loved everything, from the gorgeous views on the drive up here to your pretty cabin, to all the little touches, the tea, coffee, and water - we have appreciated the water especially as it has been so hot! The cabin is decorated so tastefully and you have thought of absolutely everything to make our stay special. We have enjoyed sitting on the deck with a glass of wine after a days sightseeing, looking at the birds and listening to the creek - what bliss! For any golfers, Reems Creek Golf Club is as beautiful as it is tough, but we enjoyed the golf. Thanks once again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you for allowing us to share your home. It was a nice retreat after long, exhausting days at Biltmore and Asheville. Had dinner at "Steak & Wine" on Patton Ave. in Asheville - AMAZING food and atmosphere. Grove Arcade is simply one gorgeous building! Smith-McDowell House was quite interesting - enjoyed the history. And of course - BILTMORE!! What can we say?? We waited years to see it! Thanks for helping our dream come true!! The Lord bless you both!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
