Pennyghael - Isle of Mull

The Pennyghael Estate covers approx. 8500 acres, stretching from the shores of Loch Scridain southwards to the sea cliffs at Carsaig, overlooking Jura, Islay and Colonsay, and westwards for 5 miles from Pennyghael village. There is abundant wildlife on this beautiful island and visitors may see otters, red deer, sea eagles and golden eagles. For hill-walking, Mull has endless opportunities and there are splendid coastal walks along rugged unspoilt shores. On the estate, loch fishing for brown trout is free and shooting in season can be arranged at an extra charge. Easy access to nearby lona for day visits on the ferry, or take a boat trip to see seals, whales and a wide variety of sea birds. Each of these three appealing properties is in a private location and has superb views - garden table and chairs are provided for relaxing outdoors and there is plenty of space for children to play in the fresh air. Originally built for the estate shepherd, this detached cottage has been totally renovated and modernised and features a wonderful panoramic view overlooking the small estuary of the River Beach (pronounced Bay-ach), across the sea loch to mountains. The cottage has its own private garden with lawned area and garden bench. The accommodation is comfortably furnished and homely, with a bright modern kitchen and a spacious lounge with open fire. 1 double, 1 twin and 1 single bedroom (cot and Z-bed available on request), lounge , dining/kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath. All electric plus open fire. Fridge, freezer, microwave, auto washing machine, payphone. No TV reception, but colour television provided for video playback, DVD player,CD player. Bed linen is provided.
