The newly constructed ($2 million) NOAA Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary and Education Center is also just across the street. . Kihei is centrally located to Maui's best attractions and just 20 minutes from Kahului airport. The complex is located within one mile of restaurants and stores including Longs Drug, Safeway, McDonald's, Taco Bell and many more.
