This large cottage with oceanviews is family friendly. The size and location provide for multi-family and/or multi-generational gatherings and/or reunions. It has the charm of a cottage with wainscotting and hardwood floors and the amenities of a recently renovated and winterized home (fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, linens and towels provided).
Oceanviews, private cove/beach, rocky coast and nature trail are 200 feet away while backyard deck, lawn and woods provide a quiet retreat. Porch, balcony, bedroom and roof deck provide views of the ocean, Portland Headlight and the ships' channel with local fishermen often tending their traps. This cottage is off the beaten track on a private, quiet, dead-end road. Beachcombing along 2 miles of Crescent Beach is 2 miles away.
A lobster dealer/farm market, full grocery store with excellent wines and post office, drug store, video jam, local restaurant, ice cream stand, general store are all within 2 miles. All this and the vibrant waterfront city of Portland with boutiques, museums (Art and Children's), galleries, historic homes, restaurant, pubs, kayak/bike rentals, island and whale-watching tours only 15 minutes away. Aquaboggin and Funtown are 30 minutes to the south while shopping at LL Bean's and Freeport outlet stores is 30 minutes north.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house in Cape Elizabeth. The house was perfect for a large group of friends, as there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. There was also plenty of room for dining and relaxing between the kitchen, dining room and living room. The big deck in the back was great for hanging out on as well as cooking on the grill! It was also a fairly short commute to Portland, which is where we went for dinner on Saturday night! The one recommendation I have is that I would have liked to see some photos of the inside of the house as I browsed the posting on the website because it did make me a little concerned about what the inside might look like. However, the house turned out to be very nice! Not only would I would recommend this property, but I hope to stay there again in the future...
Recommended for:Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+.
