Luca is a charming host and the apartment is well maintained and as described in the listing. It is in a fabulous location and one feels as if one can almost touch the Duomo. Because it is a pedestrian area, it is quiet at night. The apartment has all the amenities that one needs. We were there for 5 nights. Luca was also helpful in orienting us to Firenze. I would have no hesitation recommending this property and would definitely return.

Wow! What a great place to stay in Florence! We loved this apartment, the views and the proximity to anything we needed to do in Florence. We walked to all of the sights we wanted to see, and were picked up downstairs for our day in Tuscany. We definitely recommend it, and will return when we get back to Italy.

I really enjoyed staying at this apartment. It was comfortable, and Luca was so helpful and kind. The only drawback was that one person couldn't sleep well with the noise in the street below. When the windows are closed it's very quiet but it was warm while we were there and we wanted the windows open. Two of us had no problem sleeping and enjoyed the revelry at night. The location is great...truly right behind the duomo. There are fantastic shops nearby, and restaurants too, yet it's just blocks away from the piazzas republica and signorina. The price was good, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was nice. We didn't use the kitchen as I refuse to cook on vacation. Having a washing machine was nice. Again, Luca was available whenever we needed him and he answers his e-mails very quickly. You do have to walk up four flights of stairs to get to the apartment but we didn't mind as the building is old and beautiful. We just thought of it as working off all the pasta, wine, and gelato that we were consuming.

The Florian is just lovely. My husband and I have returned from staying for one magnificent week in the Florian Apartment. Our daughter lives in Florence and helped scope out places for us to stay. For those of you trying to compare places and make a choice, I would recommend that you look no further. This is the place. Not only is it beautiful, tastefully furnished and decorated, with all the conveniences you could want, but it is the most perfect location you could imagine for tired feet that have been seeing the beautiful sights and sounds of Florence all day. You will love the bed...the comforter...the original beams and 500 year old brick arches from inside your bedroom. The view from the front windows are of the Duomo itself in all its ageless beauty. Luca is the most considerate, kind and congenial host you could ever hope to meet. This is the place we will stay when we return in the future. The Florian and Luca made our trip the best vacation we have ever had. And this place makes history come alive and lets you feel at times that you are going back in time (while still having a nice shower lovely new kitchen.) We can’t say enough about the advantages of staying here. Worried about the stairs? Don’t be. The art work is lovely on the way up. You can stop and enjoy it on every landing! This is the complete experience we yearn for on vacation...hospitality, beauty, comfort, views, location, location, location and a host with a wonderful sense of humor that will make you very pleased that you chose to come here.

We rented this lovely flat for a week in October 2011 and are happy to say it far exceeded our expectations! The flat itself is very clean with all the amenities listed and a view like no other! You feel as if you can reach out and touch the Duomo, simply incredible. The location is perfect in the middle of the historic center with everthing within easy walking distance including the train station. In addition to the lovely apartment which we hope to rent again in the future, Luca makes the transition so easy by providing a packet of information prior to your arrival which includes local shops, restaruants etc. so all you have to do is enjoy your stay. There are steps to the apartment but we knew that prior to booking and looked at it as enabling us to eat more gelato!!! Luca is a wonderful owner and takes very good care of his guests. Thank you once again Luca! The Florian Flat is one to enjoy and share with others. Jim & Glenda McGee Florida, USA

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful apartment for 3 nights in December, we definately made the right choice by staying here. The flat is easy to find and Luca offers great, detailed directions to assist with finding the very large door to the flat. There are a lot of stairs, but it is Italy and so that is to be expected- the stairs are definately worth the climb!! Tha flat is close by to everything, and you have no fear of getting lost as you simply need to look for the Duomo and you'll be able to navigate yourself back home. Not only is Luca friendly and funny he is also very helpful and offers some great tips on things to do and where to eat in his own personally written information guide. We agree with Luca and strongly recommend eating at Antique Noa, a beautiful restaurant filled with delicious food and wine- a wonderful night out! I would recommend this to absolutely everyone. It is a beautiful, very authentic Italian flat and in my opinion, the only place to stay in Flornece!!

We recently stayed at Luca's Duomo Flat in Florence and had the best experience from start to finish! The flat was nicely decorated and welcoming; there were numerous guidebooks for travelers and a helpful book put together by Luca that had grocery store & restaurant information and other useful information for visitors to Florence. The location could not be beat! Right outside the Duomo with the pedestrian walkway below. Luca met us the day we checked in and showed us all we would need to live in the flat for 5 days. He also met us on the day of departure. I would highly recommend this rental property to anyone contemplating a stay in Florence! Thank you very much Luca!!!

My husband and son and I stayed at this wonderful apartment right next to the Duomo for 5 nights in July. We looked at a lot of places and definitely made the right choice, the location was perfect and Luca went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable in the apartment. Yes the stairs are a climb but it helped us work off all that gelato!

As many other reviewers have noted, this apartment is extremely well-located, super clean, tastefully appointed, and practical (with dishwasher, clothes washer, A/C, and wi-fi). After walking around the charming city of Florence all day, enjoying its many wonders, it was a real pleasure to return to this apartment (well worth the climb up the stairs...helps justify eating more pasta and pizza!). Luca was wonderful to work with...friendly, helpful, very organized about the reservation, thorough in his explanation of the apartment, and he had some good recommendations for dining nearby (try Antico Noe, for example). Thanks, Luca, for a great experience!! I will definitely recommend your apartment to anyone needing a place to rent in Florence! Noi ci vediamo dopo!!

My wife and I stayed in this wonderful apartment for a week in May-June 2011. It is right next to the Duomo! The windows look right across the piazza at the North wall and transept. The apartment is on the top floor and is a walk-up, so take that into account. You control air conditioning, there is a very nice kitchen area, and a modern bathroom with shower. We were totally enchanted by this lovely apartment which is tastefully modernized, but which has exposed beams and brickwork of the 500 year old building. The owner, Luca, is extremely gracious and helpful and provides the renter with useful information about how to get around the city, where to buy groceries, etc. The location is fabulous ... you can walk to all the museums, churches, and shopping. We would definitely stay there again and it gets our highest recommendation. Thank you so much, Luca, for making our stay in Firenze so comfortable. We wish you all the best.

We stayed at Luca's apartment for 5 nights during our stay in Florence. The apartment is located right next to the Duomo and within walking distance to almost everywhere. If you are arriving from SMN station, it takes about 15 mins walk to the place. The apartment is on the top floor of the building, and if you have big luggages please be prepared to walk up 5 floor to reach the lovely suite. The unit was clean and tidy and everything was as described in the picutres. Upon arrival Luca greeted us there and showed us everything in the apartment, the unit has everything you need and Luca was so nice to showed us one by one from door lock to gas stove ,from shower box to washing machine. He was really a nice guy !! There are few restuarants down stairs and they open until late, noise is for sure an issue but if you turn on the A/C and there should be no problem even for a light sleeper like me. I will for sure recommend the unit to others and will definitely come back to stay if I revisit Florence next time. I miss the beef bun at the Central Market and the T-bone steak at Mario, the wine shops around the street and all the nice food everywhere. Luca, once again thanks for everything and look forward to see you again, and will refer our friends to stay in your flat next time.

Stayed here with my mom in the last week of our three-week vacation in Europe. This flat was our favorite of all the places we stayed! It is beautiful - even better than it looks in the pictures, and it is in a perfect location! You can walk anywhere! Luca was there to meet us and took the time to show us the apartment and explain how everything worked. He was very welcoming, and gave us many helpful recommendations for where to shop and buy food. It was also really nice to know that Luca was available if we had any questions or concerns. You can tell he really cares about his guests and takes pride in providing an enjoyable experience. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this property to friends!!

My wife and I stayed in Luca's apartment for 5 nights (April 16-20). The apartment was very comfortable, well decorated and well equipped. Luca is a great host and will meet you when you arrive to show you how things work. He told us where to buy groceries, made recommendations on where to eat and shop. He even called the taxi company and made an appointment for us to be picked up and brought to the airport. The apartment is in a great location and is near most everything Florence has to offer. It is a short five minute walk from the train station and we had no trouble maneuvering through the streets getting to the apartment. This is a great place for a couple and a small child or two as the couch doubles as a day bed. I highly recommend this apartment and would stay here again.

This was by far the best vacation my wife and I have ever had. Luca the property manager was great to work with. The property was everything described. The airlines lost my luggage and Luca helped me find the best places to buy some and helped when the airline needed to deliver it 3 days later. You will get your exercise in on this trip. There is a lot to see all within walking distance. There are two markets with in walking distance. Going to them and getting the was a unique experience and saved money. We bought what we needed to get for food each day and was able to cook at the property. The train is easy too. We took a day trip to Sienna another nice city to visit. Great Time, Great Place and Great Host.

The description which Luca gives of the apt. is totally accurate - it is a small but extremely well-designed top floor apt. in a beautiful old building from which you can almost touch the Duomo. What a location! The owner, Luca, is very friendly and helpful and will arrange a cleaner for you if you want (as I did). I stayed in the apartment for a month while at a nearby language school and enjoyed it's proximity to everything. I especially enjoyed being able to shop for food at the covered market and make my way home from everywhere. I am prone to getting lost but not here - you can see the Duomo from all over Florence. There are many steps to climb but I loved this - could eat all the pasta I wanted. I had friends come to stay for two weekends and found the fold-out bed in the living room easy and comfortable. STAY HERE! Luca will give you some eating recommendations. I also enjoyed Il Santo Bevitore on the Via Santo Spirito across the river - for a more upscale dinner. It has a small winebar/deli beside it which is fantastic for a glass and a snack...an easy walk from the apt.

I stayed at Luca's FLORIAN APARTMENT in August of this year (2010) with my wife. I have to say that from beginning to end it was a phenomenal experience. Luca is a great guy and an amazing host, and he was very accommodating. He told us some great places to go (we were sorry that his friend's place, ANTICO NOE, was closed at the time because the reviews of the food are exceptional) and some great advice for travelling within the city. As for the apartment itself, we coudn't have been happier. It is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. It had everything we needed to cook some great meals with some locally-bought ingredients. The place was truly perfect and the location could not be beat! After walking all over the city, we quickly realized that we were in the best location. The entire view from the many windows is filled with "Il Duomo", easily one of the most impressive structures in Florence, and the entrance to the apartment is right in the square... It is BEAUTIFUL!!! Everything else is within a very short walking distance. The Ufizi is less than a 5 minute walk. You'd be crazy not to stay here! You really get to feel like a local. Thank you Luca for an unforgettable visit to Florence. I give this apartment the highest rating possible.

Luca~What a beautiful place. The apartment itself is done very modern with fit and finish one would have in their own home. It is comfortable and feels like home. Close to every thing you want to see, and just to walk the neighborhood is a joy in it of itself. Although there is A LOT of foot traffic below, the apartment is high enough you get only a nice twitter of the crowd and the lovely smells of the eateries nearby. Okay the one daunting thing is the steps...BUT...once you get to the top it is well worth it. The view and just the whole feeling you get when you look out over Il Doumo...your breath is taken by the view and no longer the stairs. Luca is wonderful, helpful and gracious...we WILL be back my friend!

Clean, well-maintained, accurately represented, with all the conveniences (microwave, washing machine, etc.) Being absolutely next to the Duomo has pros and cons: noisy, lots of tourists around, lots of stairs as the building is historic. On the good side: you can walk to almost all of the attractions easily and you can enjoy the amazing view of the Duomo from the window and really feel like you you are part of the action. We enjoyed the restaurants slightly off the tourist area a bit more, and we enjoyed taking the bus to Fiosole as well as the usual museums and churches.

Amber and I had one of our best New Years experiences in Firenze thanks in part to Luca and his flat. The Duomo is right across the street! Mercato Centrale is a few block away! in fact, it is central to everything! Luca has done a nice job on the flat itself, mixing a nice modern touch into old world charm. If you are hesitant about VRBO, rest assured, Luca and his Florian Flat are the real deal. I would not hesitate to recommend. When we go back to Firenze ourselves, we are hoping to stay here again. My friend and I stayed in this chic little apartment for one week. We booked through vrbo, and the emails I received from Luca were so friendly that I felt comfortable booking this apartment. Luca met us at the apartment, and was a charming and hospitable as his emails. The apartment is all brand new, clean and creatively and fashionably decorated. I liked the faux-suede couch - very Italian! Even though it was small, it had the feeling of spaciousness as it is spread out, and there are four steps up to the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen and bathroom fully equipped. The posted photos are exactly what the apartment looks like, athough the proximity of the Duomo church is even more unbelievable when you are there. The apartment is in an ancient Palazzo, and we enjoyed going through the huge door directly off the famous Duomo square. It was noisy, but the double glazed windows helped. Note: there are mosquitos. Others have mentioned the 87 steps (we counted them too!), so of course this apartment is not good for people with mobility problems, but great for burning off all the pasta we ate! My niece and I spent a full week in this apartment and had a wonderful time. Luca, the owner, was gracious, friendly and available if/when we needed him. The place is spotlessly clean, bright, airy and beautifully located. You'll need to haul your luggage up 87 steps but it's great exercise and completely worth the effort. The Piazza del Duomo can stay noisy with partying young people and celebrating soccer fans into the early morning hours but I would stay there again without a second thought. This is money well-spent.

Wonderful location with in walking distance to all classic Florentine venues. Quiet building with easy access to buses to anywhere. Many breakfast outlets and restaurants closeby. The Duomo bells are silent at night. Nightlife at outdoor cafe on next block goes until late, ear plugs a good option if light sleeper. Remember that ground is floor 1! So a 4th floor walk up is really the fifth floor. Stairs are easy, well lit. Worth the climb! Friendly and helpful owner who speaks English. We will stay here again.
