Recent Guest Review:
"We've been renting houses at the Connecticut shore for six years, and your house is by far the nicest! There was plenty of room for the family and all of our friends and extended family who came to visit. Even with three messy teenagers, there's so much room the house always felt clean and comfortable. Thanks for being available to answer all of our questions and for running over with extra gas for the grill! This has been such a relaxing vacation with all (and more) of the comforts of home."
The London Family, Columbia, MD 8/8/09
THE HOUSE:
We are located just four houses in from the water- a two minute walk, with a partial water view from the front yard. On the first floor, there is a large eat-in kitchen, a dining room that easily seats eight, living room, sunroom with table and chairs, and a full bathroom. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms (all with queen beds) and a full bathroom. Additionally, upstairs, there is a large den with TV that converts to a sleeping area for three (futon and single sofa bed). The den has sliding doors that open to an outside deck.
Also, an upstairs sitting area with TV can sleep one on a rollaway bed. In the back yard the house has a large deck with picnic table and gas grill. There is also an outside shower. We have converted the one-car garage to a game room with a ping-pong table, games, toys, books and a VCR with a wide selection of videos to keep the kids (and adults!) occupied on those rainy days.
The house is fully equipped with linens, towels, paper supplies and even some sodas in the fridge to welcome you to the beach. The spacious kitchen has new appliances including dishwasher, refrigerator with in-the-door icemaker and gas range/oven. It is equipped with pots, pans, utensils and dishes. There is a microwave, blender, toaster and coffee maker. You can eat at the kitchen table or serve a larger group in the dining room, have an intimate meal in the sunroom or have a family picnic out on the back porch/deck. Smoking outdoors only, please.
During the summer season, the house is available by the week only. Your stay begins Sunday at 4 pm and extends until the following Sunday at 11 am. During the rest of the year, it is available for rent by the weekend, week, month, or longer. We do not charge a separate cleaning fee; the home is thoroughly cleaned between guests and the fee is included in our rates.

THE BEACH:

It has restrooms and is attended in season for your comfort and security but there is no lifeguard on duty. There is a roped swimming area and sunning/diving platform. Bring your picnic lunch and enjoy the picnic tables. We provide beach chairs, umbrella and coolers. The house has plenty of beach towels and beach toys for the family!
THE AREA:
Bring along your bike and take a ride or walk along the seawall about a half mile to Ocean Beach Park with its boardwalk, kids waterpark, rides, food and activities.
Drive five minutes and hop on a Ferry to Block Island or Orient Point, Long Island. Mystic is only a ten to fifteen minute drive away and features Mystic Seaport and Mystic Aquarium. A 20-30 minute car ride gets you to the three largest casinos in the world, Mohegan Sun, MGM Grand and Foxwoods, with entertainment and dining options too numerous to count. The family will LOVE the new Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville at the Mohegan! And all of this is only two hours from Boston and 2 1/2 hours from New York City.
Summer at the Connecticut shore is beautiful! One of the high points of summer in New London is Sailfest - a celebration of ships and the sea in early July, with its huge fireworks display over a harbor absolutely alive with colorful boats and visitors. Walk a few blocks, pick out your viewing spot and let others deal with the traffic.

Carolyn and Randy, Thanks so much for loaning us this wonderful home. We had 4 "Coasties" - our daughter and 3 of her cadet friends. The girls ate like pigs, slept a lot, and were totally relaxed ... just what they needed !! They all loved the house and their time here. We all want to know: Is it too soon to reserve the house for the week of May 21, 2014? That's when the girls graduate and we'd all love to come back.

We celebrated our family reunion and this house was warm, inviting and a perfect vacation for all! "On the waterfront" was amazing - what a view and the food was yummy! Guthrie Beach was fun, easy and the raft was enjoyed by the girls. Ocean Beach Park was perfect for all. The waterslide was a bonus, thanks to Auntie Sue. Thank you for the memories! Thanks, Carolyn, for all the email info.

Randy and Carolyn, We had an amazing time and lots of fun staying at this fabulous home of yours! It is wonderfully stocked with everything one could possibly need. Didn't see why my wife made me bring all this stuff! Anyway, thank you for letting us stay at your home and we'll be looking forward to our next trip to Connecticut. Thanks!

We had a great week here at Lower Boulevard! Guthrie Beach was fantastic! Very clean, beautiful, and fun. Michael's Dairy was delicious. We went three times - yikes! We went to On The Waterfront and Fred's Shanty. Great food and atmosphere. Went to Mystic Aquarium - a little pricey but nice. The Beluga whales were great. Really liked Mystic Village - 60 shops in an "old village". I could have spent a day going to all the neat little shops. Ate lunch at 10 Clams in Mystic Village. Good food, good prices, kid friendly. Thank you for everything! The week went by too fast!

Dear Carolyn and Randy, We had a wonderful time on Lower Boulevard. Guthrie Beach is a great place to watch the boats. We saw a submarine being escorted. We took a lighthouse tour through Project Oceanology at Avery Point. We got to go in the Ledge Light lighthouse. WOW is all I have to say about that. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. We even walked to Michael's Dairy on Montauk. We love their ice cream! We would love to return again. Thanks for everything!
