Randy and Carolyn, Thanks you so much for the use of your home! We brought a 13 month old, a 15 month old and a 2 and a half year old and felt right at home. We appreciated greatly the cars and trucks here for the kids and the tricycle! Although it was only a weekend, we would definitely consider coming back when it is warmer! We went to Mystic Pizza and found Captain Scott's Lobster Dock. We can't wait to come back "in season" to visit all those wonderful places again and see the changes in plant life as we were here before much was blooming this time. We will certainly contact you again if we are able to stay longer than a weekend in the future. We were able to enjoy the beach on one warm day, and even got a little bit of color to start the summer! Thanks for everything!

Randy and Carolyn, We loved staying here this week! My son and many of his friends were thankful for a home away from USCGA (United States Coast Guard Academy)and we were able to give them a home-cooked meal - so much nicer than a pizza and a couple of chairs in a hotel room! We were able to explore the area at our leisure as well and did lots of walking/hiking at Harkness Memorial State Park, Connecticut College Arboretum, Fort Griswold, Ocean Beach Park and estuary area, and the USCGA.

Carolyn and Randy, Thanks so much for loaning us this wonderful home. We had 4 "Coasties" - our daughter and 3 of her cadet friends. The girls ate like pigs, slept a lot, and were totally relaxed ... just what they needed !! They all loved the house and their time here. We all want to know: Is it too soon to reserve the house for the week of May 21, 2014? That's when the girls graduate and we'd all love to come back.

We celebrated our family reunion and this house was warm, inviting and a perfect vacation for all! "On the waterfront" was amazing - what a view and the food was yummy! Guthrie Beach was fun, easy and the raft was enjoyed by the girls. Ocean Beach Park was perfect for all. The waterslide was a bonus, thanks to Auntie Sue. Thank you for the memories! We had a great week here at Lower Boulevard! Guthrie Beach was fantastic! Very clean, beautiful, and fun. Michael's Dairy was delicious. We went three times - yikes! We went to On The Waterfront and Fred's Shanty. Great food and atmosphere. Went to Mystic Aquarium - a little pricey but nice. The Beluga whales were great. Really liked Mystic Village - 60 shops in an "old village". I could have spent a day going to all the neat little shops. Ate lunch at 10 Clams in Mystic Village. Good food, good prices, kid friendly. Thank you for everything! The week went by too fast!

Dear Carolyn and Randy, We had a wonderful time on Lower Boulevard. Guthrie Beach is a great place to watch the boats. We saw a submarine being escorted. We took a lighthouse tour through Project Oceanology at Avery Point. We got to go in the Ledge Light lighthouse. WOW is all I have to say about that. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. We even walked to Michael's Dairy on Montauk. We love their ice cream! We would love to return again. Thanks for everything!

Carolyn and Randy, Perfect! We really enjoyed our stay. The garage was a great game room for the kids and the kids at heart. We were not missing anything because you had everything covered. Carolyn and Randy, We've been renting houses at the Connecticut shore for six years, and your house is by far the nicest! There was plenty of room for the family and all of our friends and extended family who came to visit. Even with three messy teenagers, there's so much room the house always felt clean and comfortable. Thanks for being available to answer all of our questions and for running over with extra gas for the grill! This has been such a relaxing vacation with all (and more) of the comforts of home.

Dear Carolyn and Randy, Your home was just what we had hoped for! It was spacious, generously appointed with towels, games, etc., and SO close to a great family beach. We had a wonderful week. Colin, age 9, loved the arcade at Ocean Beach Park, enjoyed panning for gold and dusting for dinosaur bones at Dinosaur Crossing. Aidan, age 2 1/2, became a whiz at spotting starfish at Guthrie Beach. We all recommend Mystic Aquarium; the beluga whales and the 3-D deep sea ride made especially big impressions.

Dear Randy and Carolyn, This being our first visit to America for our daughter's wedding was made much more enjoyable by having the privilege of your house as a base, not only for ourselves but to be able to entertain our new son-in-law and his family from Missouri, and other friends. Dear Randy and Carolyn, We had another wonderful week on Lower Boulevard. The boys (3,6,and 8) enjoyed the beach - building forts in the sand and swimming out to the raft. We had a fun afternoon at the Mystic Aquarium, watching Beluga whales, sea lions, and penguins, and holding pretty birds from Australia. The beach house is a perfect spot for our group of grandparents, parents and grandsons - with plenty of games and toys for all to enjoy. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us for year #2!

Dear Randy and Carolyn! We had a fantastic "mini-vacation" here at Lower Boulevard. The beach is great, with helpful college students there offering to set up our beach chairs and umbrellas. Great time of year to visit this area weather-wise! We enjoyed "Little Havana" restaurant on Bank Street - excellent Mojitos - choice of Cuban or lobster fare. We also thoroughly enjoyed Illiano's Pizza. Being up here brought back childhood memories of beach days. Also, a very good value for the dollar was our stay here on Lower Boulevard. Will visit again! Thank you! P.S. Family Bowl was very close and a lot of fun!!

The kids' toys were a hit with Sam, age 6. But the best part for him was ping-pong! Dear Carolyn and Randy, We are in agreement with many of the previous comments - you have a lovely home and we appreciated all of the amenities that were included. Our entire family enjoyed our vacation in New London. We loved having Guthrie Beach just down the street. This was RJ's first trip to the beach and he loved the water and the waves! Thankfully the weather cooperated and we only had one day of rain. The little ones loved the sprinklers and the rides at Ocean Beach Park. We all loved Michael's ice cream on Montauk Avenue, and the sock hop on Friday night. We also saw a submarine go out to sea one day while we were on the beach - very cool! Finally, we really had a good Italian/Greek dinner at Ocean Pizza Palace (and brought home a menu for future guests). (Note: no credit cards, but an ATM). Three of us are from land-locked Colorado. We had some good family friends visit one day. We had a great time reminiscing on the beach (which we always used to do together) and had a great lunch on your big back deck. One night we all took a walk on the beach after dinner. Madison (2 1/2) said, "Grandma, I'm really having fun!" We think that sums up the week for all of us! We hope to see you again next year!

Carolyn and Randy, We have had a lovely week in your great house! The five members of the Summers family joined us for 2 nights from Glastonbury, CT and the Brown's from Mystic have joined us most days. We also had a great time in Mystic Pizza when Janet and Tony came from Westport for the evening - there were 15 of us! We have done Guthrie, Ocean, and Misquamicut beaches, the aquarium and Seaport Village in Mystic and Old Mystic Village, as well as Subfest yesterday and enjoyed the fireworks. The children have all enjoyed pingpong and the garage games. Rachel loved the barbies! Many thanks for a great time!

Randy and Carolyn, We came to attend a graduation in Bristol and loved staying here at the beach. Your home is such a great location! The children loved the beach, the playroom, the game room and having the chance to be in their own space! We also loved the ability to have family in Bristol over for dinner and having enough dishes and dining areas to do so! One of our favorite discoveries was the Hel-Cat II fishing party boat. We took three children and seven adults on this boat to "fish for our supper." The guides/captains were great and our group caught ten huge fish! We served fish for two meals and still had fish! This was a great adventure for people from a land-locked state! We highly recommend this adventure. Thank you again! We hope to see you next year.

June 26, 2007Carolyn,As you know, this is the first time my family; daughters & son-in-laws, grandchildren and mother, have ever vacationed together, and we could not have chosen a better house to do it in, or a more gracious person to work out the details with. It seems that you thought of everything when equipping this house for your guests, and added many things you would find in your own home. My daughters remarked on several occasions about the way the house was decorated, very warm and cozy with all those little touches that I know you had a hand in! And it was so spacious we could all find a place to relax, whether on the beautiful backyard deck, the sun porch for morning coffee, or the spacious 2nd floor den with big screen TV. The private beach was great for the grandchildren (and Papa) to make sandcastles and for me to fly kites, and by providing the beach chairs, coolers and umbrella; you gave us more room to pack things we needed for our trip. My daughter went to Mitchell College, and this was a great opportunity for her to see her old dormitory (Fairhaven), visit Ocean Beach, and fall in love with the New London area all over again. What a great place to vacation, and what great people to do business with – I almost feel like we are already friends. Randy and Carolyn , We loved everything about the house and New London. All seven of the Vercillos had a wonderful time! I enjoyed a walk on the beach every day and seeing the two beautiful white swans, huge sailboats and all the ferries. My two sisters-in-law and I went to the art museum via the city bus. A short ride to Ocean Beach Park on a full bus, only to pick up 40 kindergarten students! The bus driver would not move until all adults (who were able) stood while we rode the rest of the way to town. Fortunately, the children were well-behaved and adorable! We transferred to another bus downtown, a quick trip to the museum on Williams Street. The ride back was another story - entirely too long, about one and a half hours. A few of us were luck at the casinos, so we had a nice dinner out at "On the Waterfront." Thanks for all the nice touches and supplies you have provided! You two really know how to outfit a house. It is beautiful!

We absolutely loved the house! It worked out wonderfully for us. We've rented houses before but none had such a well equipped kitchen. It's great how you have little things that people usually don't think about like salt and pepper and cooking oil, etc. Those are things that you need to cook a meal but don't want to have to go out and buy. The basket of snacks and drinks in the fridge was such a nice touch too. Thanks for making our trip extra special. We hope to stay there again the next time we come up to visit our sons.

After moving away from New London to Sand Point, Idaho, we have been visiting for summer vacation. We miss the ocean, family and friends and of course, the local restaurants and entertainment. Your new vacation rental provided us with all the needed amenities of home. Nice touches, kids' toys, and of course, location! We enjoyed doing the things we had done when we lived here. Ocean Beach Park, the train station, the wharf, Mohegan Sun, Papa Gino's pizza, Bangkok cuisine thai food, and walks around the neighborhood with stops at the Lighthouse Inn. We loved your home! It was so easy to settle in since you filled it with all the amenities of home. Having the beach so close was wonderful and we found the Thames River a great place for boating and tubing. Harkness Memorial Park was beautiful and we enjoyed Abbott's in Noank and the Schooner Restaurnat down Pequot Avenue. We would love to come again.
