  I've rented Corgi's Castle 4 times now, and every stay has been better than the last. The home is as described. The grounds are beautiful in every season. I live in San Diego, which is less than an hour away from Julian. I bring a small group of scrapbookers up to Corgi's Castle twice a year. It meets our needs perfectly! We have plenty of room to scrap and chat, and the bedrooms are far enough away from the middle of the house that we don't bother those who wish to sleep. I would highly recommend Corgi's Castle to anyone. The owners are charming, and if you are lucky, you will get a visit from Corgi himself!

  We were a group of 6 adults and 4 kids who rented this house for the weekend. The pros are the size of the house and rooms. Very spacious property perfect for a family reunion with lots of space to spread out. The area in general is beautiful. The kids loved going in the back and playing in the garden which was one of the best parts of the house. They loved going to check out the chickens as well as the cows next door. Drawback would be some of the things in the house did not work perfectly, as mentioned in other reviews, the house does need some TLC. Our cold water faucet in the bathroom we couldn't get to shut off all the way. The blender was not functional. Bed downstairs was not very comfortable, squeaky and caved in the middle- needs to be replaced. Also would recommend they get darker curtains/blinds for the bedrooms. Our room facing the street had just a lacy thin "curtain" which was very see through and let all the light in- so we placed a blanket on top of this to help keep the kids stay asleep. Same with the rooms upstairs.

  While the house is large and can sleep 8-10, it has been poorly maintained, if at all. Wallpaper is peeling in bathrooms, screen door on front entry is rusty and needs to be replaced; much of the wood trim on the outside of the house is rotting. If the owner wants to continue to use this as a rental, they need to do a lot of repair work. The house looks old and tired, which is a shame because it's in a great location with a wonderful view.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway.

  Another GREAT stay...had snow and the kids loved it! Julian is a a good get-a-way and Corgi's Castle is a wonderful place to stay to enjoy it! Hope to stay there again!

  This home has a lovely garden, the outside eating table needs to be replaced. The home has a family room and living room with a dining area large enough for 8 comfortably. The home was clean and inside furnishings were in good condition. Nice large kitchen for cooking with great view of garden and small lake in the distance. The master bathroom need a full door. This bathroom currently has salon style half doors only so there is not much privacy for the toilet area. The master bedroom is good size with walk in closet and two sinks. Very cute town to visit.

  The property was really wonderful overall. The gardens beautiful, with vegtables and chickens! The yard house, what we called the "sugar shack" was enchanting. The house is filled with charming decor. The view across the valley was stunning. What a peaceful spot. We really snuggled in and enjoyed ourselves. Some of the areas of the house are a bit 'dog eared' and we would recommend fixing up or upgrading. Nonetheless, or experience was wonderful.

  Our entire family including a handicapped grandparent, parents and 3 children under 7 years had a wonderful experience. The 3 king-sized beds with bathrooms were perfect for large people and afforded privacy. The kids loved the unexpected snow, we stayed cozy inside, and when the snow melted within a few days, everyone enjoyed the yard with the flowers and chickens. We were impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the place, it's great spaces to be together or apart, and the friendliness of the owners. The furnishings were nice, but comfortably worn enough for small children to play in without worry. I would recommend Corgi's Castle for anyone who wants a self-catering situation, especially extended families and large people. We'll visit again!

  The owners of this property are extremely easy to communicate with about anything you might need. The property manager, Bonnie went above and beyond to help me know all the in's and out's of the town and fun things to do! This property is spacious enough to accommodate a nice family getaway with other couples with children or a family reunion. The area is peaceful and while we were there we saw herds of deer running through the valley below. We had a great time and it was extremely restful for my husband and children which was why we went!

  This was our 6th annual Scrapbooking trip to Corgi's Castle. We look forward to it every year, and to see what changes have been made to the house. We were not disappointed! The office was redecorated with a lovely red sofa, and there was new furniture in the living room. The owners and Bonnie are so helpful and accommodating. We even had snow on our first day! The fall leaves were beautiful, and once again we shared laughs and made memories!

  A group of 6 tole painting women stayed at Corgi's Castle - what a hoot. The home is welcoming and spread out so, if you want quiet, it's possible. We sat on the back porch and enjoyed the outdoors seeing the lake below and deer frolicking in the fields. The home has a few quirks that added to the overall fun. We picked fresh vege's from the garden for one of our meals and enjoyed being within 3 miles of downtown Julian. We'll definitely look forward to next year when we plan to return.
