Murphy's Cottage, an oasis of tranquility, is located on the foothills of the majestic Mount Brandon, the highest peak on the Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry. Strategically placed on the Dingle Way walking trail, the two-storey cottage overlooks the picturesque panorama of Brandon Bay, with its long beaches, pretty villages and traditional-style puls. Open-fires, oil-fired central heating and comfortable, well-equipped living areas combine to make this an ideal all-year round holiday destination. The pleasantly furnished cottage sleeps 6, with 4 bedrooms (2 double & 2 single), 2 living rooms and a kitchen/ dining area containing all modern conveniences.

The panoramic views from the picturesque patio and garden show the sweep of Brandon and Fermoyle beaches, the summit of Beenoshee mountain and the Conor Pass in the distance. Brandon and Cloghane villages are two minutes by car, or 20-30 minutes scenic walk. The fine dining and musical traditions of Dingle Village are a 25 minute drive. Local walks and hikes suit all grades and walking itinerary is provided at the Cottage. Local, fresh produce and delicious breads are easily accessible. Nature lovers, swimmers, surfers, walkers of all-abilities, and people in search of peace and quiet will all be attracted to this peaceful country retreat.

Renting this cottage and staying in this part of Ireland could not have been any better. To begin, Sinead was friendly, helpful, and informative from the beginning of our communications. Upon arrival, the cottage did not disappoint at all. The photographs and descriptions do not do it justice as the cottage was cozy, roomy, and warm. Anything you need is there at the cottage. The location is stunning and the views could not be matched. The surrounding area is very lovely as well and the people are kind, friendly, helpful, and open. It truly made for the most wonderful vacation and I could not recommend this cottage more. It was a perfect experience and I look forward to staying again.

My wife and I spent 10 days at Murphy's Cottage during a two-week stay in Ireland to celebrate our five-year anniversary. We considered a number of cottages, all on the Dingle Peninsula. Though this one was much larger than we needed we instantly fell in love with the photos we saw, and knew this was our place. We weren't disappointed either! Absolutely as charming as it looks, Murphy's Cottage was truly a home away from home. With views of Dingle Bay, gorgeously dramatic weather, and the lushest and most magnificent shades of green you've ever seen, this is the perfect place for a quiet, romantic getaway. Everything was clean and tidy, the kitchen amply outfitted, the fireplaces cozy, and plenty of books, maps and guides of the area to help you organize your days. The village of Brandon is relatively remote, so this might not be the best place to stay if you plan on setting out for a series of day trips along the west or south coasts. But if you want to settle in and really explore beautiful Dingle Peninsula, you'll be hard-pressed to stay someplace lovelier.

A week of blissful weather capped a wonderful stay in this enchanting holiday home. The setting is so, so beautiful. The house is immaculate, quirky, a home from home and close to some amazing beaches. 4 of us (including 2 small children) enjoyed our week here enormously. The listing is accurate and honest. The joy of sipping wine outside after the kids have gone to bed was inspired by the photo of apperetifs on the patio! The owner is a dote - charming and knowledgeable about the area. Thank you.

If you love the mountains and the sea, then this is the place to be. We spent a week here but wished it had been a month. House is cosy when necessary and light and open when the sun is shining. Views are hard to beat and you're up high and part of this magnificent panorama. Great if you like walking, birding, wild flowers but the house is full of great books and music too. Really well equipped kitchen, lovely bedrooms and loads of comfy living-space including 3 open fires and a garden you don't want to leave. We've rented lots of houses but this is the best simply because it's a real 'home' away from home.
