COMFORTABLE, CLEAN and PRIVATE are the words most often used to describe our Smoky Mountain home in Franklin, North Carolina. Our mountain home is conveniently located between Franklin and Highlands, less than 5 miles from beautiful Cullasaja Falls. The scenic drive to the falls is a true delight. ONLY 12 MILES TO HIGHLANDS! PEACEFUL AND SERENE - PRIVATE 1 ACRE SETTING – LARGE ENTERTAINING DECK – PET FRIENDLY – SPACIOUS HOME WITH LARGE KITCHEN AND LOTS OF SPACE TO SPREAD OUT. A GREAT PLACE TO RELAX AND ENJOY THE QUIET! Are you looking for a cabin that offers a PRIVATE and TRANQUIL setting? A place where you can RELAX and enjoy the peace and quiet all around you? Then we have the PERFECT VACATION home in the Smoky Mountains just waiting for you. We have prepared the ultimate RELAXING and PEACEFUL retreat for our guests to enjoy. This spacious chalet is a great place for a FAMILY VACATION GETAWAY. You'll have everything you need in this 2000 sq.ft., pet friendly home - we’ve made sure of that. The comment we hear most about our Vacation Chalet in the mountains is how COMFORTABLE, SPACIOUS and CLEAN it is. The chalet is located in a small neighborhood about 6 miles east of Franklin off of US Hwy 64 on the way to Highlands. With 2 good PAVED DRIVEWAYS there is plenty of room for everyone to easily park and stay awhile, which is good, because once everyone arrives, they just won’t want to leave. The stairs to the upstairs entry door are straight and wide and offer easy access directly to the kitchen, main living area and a bedroom and bathroom. On this main (upper) level, you will find… A BRIGHT SPACIOUS KITCHEN fully stocked with everything you will need to prepare a great meal. The dining area has a dining table that easily seats 6 plus a spacious bar area for additional dinner seating. In the large open great room, you can comfortably seat everyone in your party with room to spare. The spacious living area boasts 3 FULL SIZE SOFA'S, one of which is a SLEEPER. A cozy TV viewing area with a DVD and Satellite TV is at one end of the large room. There is also a LARGE WOOD BURNING STONE FIREPLACE that is a perfect spot to sit and enjoy a fire and the view across the large deck to the DENSE TREE COVER. This tree cover is what makes the whole property seem so PRIVATE AND COZY. You feel like you are in the trees. Also on this floor is a large bedroom with a QUEEN size bed, large closet space and a TV with satellite. To round out the upstairs there is a full bath that has been RECENTLY UPDATED. On the lower level… There is an OUTSIDE ENTRANCE DIRECTLY TO THE DOWNSTAIRS AREA AS WELL, or it can be accessed from the inside by the SPIRAL STAIRS in the center of the house. On this level, you will find a separate TV viewing area with a DVD player, along with an AIR HOCKEY TABLE. This area provides a SEPARATE AREA FOR KIDS OR 2 COUPLES TO SPREAD OUT. Downstairs has 2 large bedrooms, one with a wonderful KING SIZE LOG CONSTRUCTION BED and the other with 2 twin beds. Both bedrooms have large sliding doors that look out onto the beautiful lush yard. There is also a second bath with a shower that has also been recently updated and a large laundry room so you can stay as long as you want with everything you need. The yard is large with just over an acre of land, but it feel s like so much more since there are NO DIRECT NEIGHBORS on any side of this great property. The yard also has a SMALL STREAM that flows from the back of the property down the hillside and through the side yard. You can open the windows or sit on the deck and enjoy the sound of the water flowing. The deck is on the front of the house, and is a huge outdoor space to just relax and enjoy more of the beautiful peace and quiet of this home. There is a nice GAS GRILL, and 2 SEATING AREAS FOR FULL OUTDOOR DINING on those beautiful mild summer nights. This Smoky Mountain vacation chalet is also close to many great areas. Less than 5 miles away on Highway 64 is the start of one of the most scenic sections of road in North Caroline. It starts with the Cullasaja falls and then winds its way along parallel to the Cullasaja River past many beautiful smaller falls and scenic areas until you reach the town of Highlands where you can find great shopping and local restaurants. Along the way there is Cliffside Lake Park which is fun for swimming and a little fishing or hiking.
