This was our first trip to the Outer Banks. I emailed the owner several times about the house itself, places to eat and other questions about the area and Greg was such a pleasure to work with. The house was very comfortable. There were 6 people in our group and we had plenty of room to be together or have our own space. The living area is very cozy with lots of windows that provide really nice views of the ocean and surrounding neighborhood. The bedrooms are big and have plenty of space to unpack. The kitchen is very large with many pots and pans, plenty of dishes and gadgets to prepare any meal. We had a great time and have no complaints about this rental at all. The beach access is only steps away. The weather was pretty chilly during our stay but the hot tub warmed us up after our walks on the beach.

My friends and I just had a wonderful girls' getaway at the Dog House! Greg was so easy to work with, the house is very comfortable, has a great layout and an amazing location. The weather didn't cooperate, but we still had a great time! We loved being two doors down from beach access--the weather broke long enough on Saturday for us to get some exercise on the beach--and we were right around the corner from Harris Teeter so we didn't have to schlep coolers filled with food from home. The house had everything we needed, our only regret was not getting to enjoy the hot tub because of the rain! We also loved the wine and the chocolate that was waiting for us when we arrived--such a nice touch that was greatly appreciated by 4 tired moms! Thank you! We hope to get back again sometime soon!

The house was as expected -- excellent! We were welcomed with chocolates and wine! The condo is spacious! There were so many rooms and bathrooms. It would be perfect for a large group! But my husband and I were there just for a little getaway with our fur baby before our baby arrives! It was so relaxing and peaceful! The property was very clean, safe and had all the modern amenities one would desire! It had a very nice living room with a super comfy couch and flat screen tv, etc. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from the deck. It was just perfect for us. We absolutely loved taking our daily walks on the beach and even got to see dolphins, the sunset and sunrise. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a clean and modern place to stay that is so close to the beach, it's practically in the backyard! Thank you so much, Greg for letting us stay at your wonderful beach house! You were absolutely wonderful in keeping in contact with us when we needed it! We would definitely want to come back soon!

Excellent Weekend Getaway

We had a wonderful time at The Dog House! The house was beautifully furnished and suited our needs perfectly. The house had more amenities than I expected, it was clean and comfortable, and set in a private and quiet neighborhood especially during the off-season. The beach views from every deck can't be beat. Greg was a pleasure to work with. He answered all of my questions in a timely manner. We are looking forward to renting from him again in the future. I would definitely recommend The Dog House to family and friends.

Best Dog house in Corolla

This was our first stay at the Dog House and we all had a great time. The location was ideal, only three houses up to beach access and 3 minute drive to the grocery store. The kitchen was very large and well equipped for numerous cooks at once.The gas grill came in handy too. The large dinning room table let us all eat together. We enjoyed the ocean view from the deck, with both sun and shade spots. It is perfect for family get togethers with dogs.

TERRIBLE DON'T RENT THIS PROPERTY!!!!

The house was infested with ants!!! Mold in the master bedroom! Jacuzzi tub didn't work! Dryer broke went 3 days without a dryer!! No towels or wash clothes when we arrived had to use beach towels to take our showers! When the dryer broke we asked for more towels we were told no! The owner has yet to reimburse for the 3 days with no dryer like he promised!! Never again! We left early!!!

Owner response:I regret that the house wasnt up to thier expectations - although I tried very hard to meet their needs. When I was informed that there were not enough sheets I directed my manager to immediately provide an entire additional house set. As soon as I was aware of the towel issue I sent full house loads on day two and again on day six. An pest control company was brought in within a day to spray the kitchen for the ants. I deeply regret the dryer breaking and the delay in delivery from sears - but couldnt control either! We have full bookings every year and try very hard to make everyone hapy - I regret in this case I wasnt able to do so. I (the owner) stay in this house myself each summer - and strive to make it as described and ready for a great week of beach fun. I will continue to do so - and welcome the feedback I receive to make it better.

Great beach house just booked again for next year which will be my thrid time at this location. Large kitchen, dining and living area on the thrid level with a breathe taking veiw of the OCEAN! The house has a great lay out with bedrooms on the second floor (quite) decks on very level and a few short steps and your on one of the most beautiful endless beaches. Awesome!!!!!!!!!! Greg see you next year end of May counting the days.

Super Gals Getaway!

I love this beach house. My most recent stay was May 2011, but I've rented this property so many times, I've lost count! The proximity to the beach - just a few steps away; the huge kitchen, where multiple chefs can create to their hearts' delight (I love cooking in the kitchen, and so do my friends); the dining area/great big table; I've fallen asleep many times on the couch in the living room; decks galore to spread out on; the hot tub is awesome .... the place is great! There are no negatives as far as I'm concerned, and lots of positives. I plan to continue to rent for years to come!!

We had a great week at The Dog House! Easy to get to the beach...and with 2 young boys it was nice to be so close. Grocery store also very close...cooked every night and huge table was great not only for eating, but game playing in the evenings! The boys loved the game room upstairs. We loved the hot tub on the deck. All around great place! We can't wait to return!

Awesome Location Great House/Perfect for Families

We stayed in this great home back in April 2011. Nine of us ladies enjoyed a wonderful girls weekend away! The kitchen is large & well equipped, the great room was perfect for lounging or playing video games, the beach was a short 5 minute walk, and the location was perfect. I loved the fact all of the bedrooms on the second floor were jack n jill set up - perfect for everyone! Five minutes to grocery, 10 minutes to great restaurants and the solitude was amazing. Hot tub, decks and great parking made this a memorable event which we will repeat next year!

I have stayed at this beach house many times and every time is better than the last. I recently went there with a group of girlfriends and had a fabulous time! The house was immaculate, the hot tub was awesome and the location is incredible! The owner is incredibly responsive and has gone out of his way to make sure we always have a great time. Hope to visit this OBX home many more times!

This is the perfect getaway with a great beach location and plenty of room. The accommodations are as great as the views and the hot tub is a definite plus. I have rented the Doghouse multiple times and I have never been disappointed. Affordable, great location. I especially like Corolla because of the low key atmosphere. I will always come here first. We stay here every year and love the location, the space in the house, and the quick walk to the beach. The house is awesome, great use on the bedrooms, incredible deck space to spend your time relaxing on a sunny afternoon, hot tub, and the main living area upstairs is great. The Dog House is The Place To Stay!

The FJ Bruisers are regular guests at The Dog House and each time we stay we are more convinced to come back again. Greg has been a tremendous host and the house fulfills all our needs, especially in groups of 10-15. The amenities are top notch, the proximity to the ocean is fantastic, and the local fare is within 5 minutes of driving. We will continue to use the Dog House every year for our events as long as we are welcomed. Do not pass up an opportunity to stay!

I stayed here in October of 08'. Everything was beautiful and better than advertised. We we arrived the Microwave wasn't working and they got it fixed the same afternoon. Great views, easy walk to the beach, one of the best houses I have visiting in the OBX.

I LOVE this house! As a matter of fact I stayed there several times before having the most import day in my life there, my Wedding! The Owner has been nothing but attentive and gracious to any requests or needs, and if you're married, you KNOW how much fun it is dealing with a bride to be! My entire family & extended family and friends were all as happy with our accomodations as I was! All the kids loved the game room, keeping them entertained when needed. As a matter of fact, many of our guests asked me for the information on the rental because they too had fallen in love with the beach house just as I did. I can't wait for our next trip back! Relaxing on the deck or in the hot tub with a glass of wine can't be beat!

Greg - I stayed at your house here in OBX. My kids and I had a great time staying down there. We brought the dog with us and the house was perfect for her. Tons of room to spread out and only 75 feet from the beach! Woke up to a sunrise right outside my window every morning (I had the room with a view!). When we weren't grilling out on the deck, we found enough good restaurants in Duck and Corolla to keep us happy.

We spent a week in this house for spring break with our kids and parents. Such a great time! The kids particularly loved the upstairs room as their hangout! The weather didn't always cooperate, but the nearby shopping and go-kart racing were hits with everyone. Plus, a rainy day at the beach beats a sunny day at work... especially when you have a great house to relax in after playing in the sand anyway!
