We've rented a number of homes via the VRBO website over the past ten years, and I'm happy to report that the owner of this home was the easiest to deal with of all and the most helpful too. Connie is very punctual with answering your questions and she gave us loads of excellent information and recommendations (local restaurants, beaches, groceries, gift shops, things to do, etc...) all of which proved to be spot-on! House itself is located in a well secured and very nice gated residence, and the community pool and recreation center was very well-maintained - pool is huge by the way! The house is really laid out wonderfully, with all the bedrooms upstairs, and the kitchen and lounge area on the first floor. Plenty of room for the six of us! Patio on first floor is simply incredible and oh so relaxing - look one way and see the ocean. Turn your head a bit and view the peaks of the rain forest. All in all, a great and roomy house which made for a fabulous family get-together - we all loved our stay and would highly recommend this house and the owner.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Hacienda Margarita is a wonderful place for a family to just kick back and experience the easy life of Puerto Rico. The house is beautiful, well maintained, very clean, with just about everything you will need. Even beach towels are provided. In short, it is everything described in the listing and more. There is nearby shopping at Walmart and a large grocery store. Luquillo is located on the northeast coast and is close to various family-oriented public beaches which are kept very clean. Connie, the owner, was very prompt in responding to our inquiries, and most enthusiastic in sending information about the property and the things to do. We found her suggestions for acitivities and favorite restaurants very helpful. We booked a private snorkeling trip from Serenity Sea Tours which is operated by a resident of the neighborhood, and experienced the unique Laguna Grande Biolumeniscence Bay at Fajardo in an electric boat. El Yunque rain forest is minutes away, and was a fantastic way to spend a day hiking and picnicing. Old San Juan is about 50 minutes away and should not be missed for the history and culture. In between we just spent time on the beach! For the experience of real Puerto-Rican cuisine, there is a strip of Kiosks along the public beach which range from carry out to fine dining. All in all, we found friendly, helpful people wherever we went. We would recommend this property to any family that wants to have a reunion, or just get away. We had a fantastic time!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

My family and I vacationed in Puerto Rico this past summer and stayed in the residence at Hacienda Margarita and we had a wonderful time! The house was more than accommodating for my wife and 3 adult children. The owner was very gracious and helpful when it came to the rental, answering my questions and planning of the trip. You could not ask for a better setting! The sweeping views from the house are incredible from El Yunque (Rain Forrest) to the beach, you can see it all! You are literally minutes away from one of the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico and no more than 35 minutes away from San Juan. As a person who has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 yrs, I understand and appreciate everything that goes into ensuring that your guest have a wonderful stay and this includes taking care of the unexpected issues that might arise. During our stay the water went out due to a main water break in the area. I called owners and in no time she had a gentleman come over and start up the cistern system at the house. The most impressive thing about this was that it was after 8pm and he still came over, he was very pleasant and got it working for us! You cannot find a better value for your money anywhere in Puerto Rico, especially if you’re traveling with your family. The house has a full kitchen, fridge and everything you need thus we saved a fortune on eating out.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

This house was beautiful, spacious, and easily accommodated our 9 occupants. The location is GREAT! An easy drive to El Yunque, Luquillo Beach, the kioskos, and Fajardo (if you want to make the early morning trip to the ferry terminal to either Culebra).Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

My family (6 adults) just got back from a wonderful, six-night vacation at this place. We especially enjoyed the back patio, a wonderful place for an evening drink or breakfast in the morning. We packed our days full of activities--Culebra, Vieques, Luquillo beaches and food stalls, El Yunke, Guavate's lechoneras, and Old San Juan--but we all agreed that we would have been content just staying at the house! The house is extremely spacious and has AC in every room. A car is a must, as you are a drive from stores and beaches, but it's worth it to come home to a peaceful house. The only downside was there was no internet, which us 20 to 30-year-olds depend on for all research--good thing we had a guidebook! All in all, it was a great stay and I'd highly recommend this house.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

We rented Connie's house for a wedding weekend and it was fabulous! Everything we could have possibly needed was there, even for a large group. Plenty of cute dish and glassware for fun meals together. So, it was a giant weight of my shoulders to have less to worry about, as the hostess. The house was so carefully decorated with cute beach house signs, trendy furniture, soft new bedding, great out door patio furniture. The house was warm and inviting, but with the immaculate presentation of a villa in a resort! The view was breathtaking, whether you are taking in a sunrise over the ocean, a sunset behind El Yunque Rainforest or a evening of shooting stars. The best part was that this 180 plus degree view was accessible from the balcony off of everyones bedroom! How luxurious! We had such a spectacular week, we have decided to make it an annual event!! One week a year with great friends in our new home away from home in paradise!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We have now stayed in this house for two years in a row -- 2 weeks each time. We have two toddlers -- great house for a family. Backyard is fenced in so the kids can run around while you enjoy the views.. and cooking on the outside grill. This is a beautiful and secure neighborhood. The house is huge and filled with all the toys, linens and kitchen stuff you will ever need. The owners are great and the managers they have in PR are quick to respond to any issues. I recommend this house to anyone who wishes to stay on the eastern side of the island. We plan to return every year. Thanks Connie.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

This place fit our needs perfectly. We came with 3 family units & 4 small children. 3 Bedrooms for the grown ups and the 4 bunk beds for the kids were perfect. They also have 3 more beds on the first floor if needed, so easily the house can comfortably accommodate 13 or more people. The house was in very nice shape; clean and had everything you need to enjoy a nice vacation. Connie has kids videos, family board games, beach gear a plenty, laundry facilities. So you just need to bring a bathing suit and clothes and you're set for a great relaxing vacation. The setting of the house is great. It's a gated community, so it feels very safe and secure. Connie's house has the best position in the community with the most spectacular views. The outdoor space is as nice as the inside space, and I just loved relaxing on the hammock watching the sun set behind El Yunke. The view alone makes this house worth it: views of both the rainforest and the ocean. The kids enjoyed the the community pool, a short drive down the road. The playground was also nice, but without much shade, it was a bit hot in June. Connie's "private beach" is really nice, but without bathroom facilities, it didn't work for us with small kids and ederly. However the very nice and popular Loquillo Beach was only a 5 minute drive away. You will definitely need a car out here, it's not walkable. My mother-in-law, who is quite critical, repeatedly commented that the house was lovely; in fact the ONLY negative thing she could say about it was that it's a bit far from San Juan. Since we came for a wedding, we took several trips into San Juan. Drive should have taken about 45 minutes, but with horrendous traffic (at 2pm, or 12am, it didn't seem to matter), it took about 2 hours each way. So if your plans are to spend most of the time in San Juan, this house may be a bit too far out for you. However, it has great access to gorgeous beaches (Loquillo) and 10 minutes from the ferry docks to the island's best secrets: Culebra and Vieques islands. The only other trouble we had was in getting the wifi to work; we never managed to get it working. Our cell service (Verizon and several others) didn't work there either, and without a land-line phone in the house, we were a bit isolated. I would stay at this house again in a heartbeat. The price was extremely reasonable, the house was comfortable and exceeded our expectations, Connie was very easy to work with, and we had a lovely time.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: We have AT&T for cell phone and its 100% reliable. Not sure why Verizon wasn't working....huge cell coverage on PR. Thanks so much Kristina!!

I love this place, I currently live in Florida, but my parents own a house on this community, and I used to live with them for almost a year when I was pregnant and the neighborhood is so quiet, clean and nice.... I really recommend this place for vacations.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We just returned from a week stay and this house is great. I can't exactly put my finger on it but this is the first time we have stayed somewhere and felt like we were staying at a friends house versus a rental property. The house is LARGE, very good location and most important very secure. Everything was simple and smooth with Connie, lots to do in the area. This is not a small neighborhood at all, it resembles more of an estate type neighborhood than anything. I would consider it very upper class for this region. Thanks for everything.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Denny, thanks so much! We are thrilled that you enjoyed our home! Connie
