Why the Owner Chose Point Roberts
This vacation home is a great location, overlooking the Juan de Fuca Strait, with views of the San Juan Islands, as well as some of the Gulf Islands, in the Gulf of Georgia. There are many interesting sites of many species of birds flying by and landing on the trees down the bluff in front of this home-bald eagles, geese, blue herons etc.; cruise ships , both day and night, cruise by the home, giving a magical quality to the view; weekly sightings of sailboats from the nearby Marina, provide excitement as they race by in pursuit of winning the race.
The short walk to the expansive beach, is advantageous when one wishes to walk for miles on the sandbars; one can have a swim on a hot summer's day in the very clean, clear ocean water; a person can enjoy kayaking with family or friends in our 2 ocean going kayaks. There are many different walks around Point Roberts to keep one in shape, not far from the house. A great getaway location with nature and beauty all around you, in a peaceful setting.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Natural beauty with the expansive ocean, San Juan and Gulf Islands in full view from living room, dining area, and master bedroom. On clear evenings the moon with its silver path over the waters, is truly spectacular-you are at one with nature!

We spent 10 glorious days at Saltaire in August. We only live a half hour from Point Robets, but felt like we were miles away. The home worked perfectly for the 3 generation family vacation we planned. While my husband & I enjoyed the very spacious master bedroom & ensuite, our daughter, son-in-law, and 2 grandsons [age 2.5 & 11 months] had the other side of the house for their own use. This provided them with 2 bedrooms, the office, and a gorgeous full bathroom. Everyone had plenty of privacy and lots of space. The very large living room and kitchen, in addition to the beautiful deck, provides amazing 180 degree views. There is plenty of play space for the children, all of it safe & secure. The beach is just a short trip down some stairs & provides endless hours of beach walks & runs, sand castle building & shell collecting, kayaking & photography. The kayaks provided by the owners are new & very stable for the beginner kayaker. There is plenty of exposed sandy beach at low tides & as the tide comes in, the water warms up enough for the hardier souls to go swimming! We enjoyed most meals on the deck & were fortunate to have the company of many Orca swimming by on several occasions - an incredible privilege. We spent our evenings in the wonderful hot tub enjoying the peace & quiet of the area along with a show of shooting stars. In summary, this home is lovely, fully equipped, clean, well-maintained, & the perfect vacation spot. As well, the owners are friendly, welcoming, helpful and exceptionally easy to work with. I'd highly recommend Saltaire for your next vacation.

We spent a week in this idyllic spot and wish it never ended. The views from the back patio, living/dining/kitchen and master bedroom are unparalleled. This is the "sun coast" in WA, and we didn't have a drop of rain, or even overcast skies the whole week. We swam in the sea, collected sand dollars and sea stars (purple and pink) along the beach, kayaked with porpoises (really!), and hunted for orcas (saw seals, but sadly no orcas this trip). A great spot from which to day trip to Vancouver and Victoria, but get home in time to enjoy sunset from the patio or hot tub. The owners are lovely and were very helpful and welcoming. The house is clean, comfortable and well-appointed with great amenities. We highly recommend a vacation here! The only watch-out is that if you're coming from the US, there are 2 border crossings to get here, which can be very time consuming on a weekend!

We had a wonderful family vacation here- we did not want to leave! The view was amazing. We watched the Orca's swim by, and the bald eagles build a nest in a nearby tree. The home was very comfortable, and the hot tub and kayaks provided lots of fun times. The owners were great, making us feel very welcome. we would definetely love to stay here again.

We were interested in a Point Roberts house to rent for the U.S. Thanksgiving week and selected this property for our three generation party. We were extremely satisfied. The house is ideally situated near the beach with a great view. A short set of stairs allow very easy beach access. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed. The master bedroom is fantastic. The homeowners were very responsive to our needs, not that we had any special problems. Thank you for a great vacation. We certainly would consider coming back!!
