This tastefully-decorated and sparkling apartment is on the first floor of a landmark Victorian, with a grand wrap-around veranda. It is less than one block from Good Harbor Beach, a picture-perfect spot, with over one-half mile of white sandy beach and dunes for glorious walking, swimming and water sports. This is Gloucester's "pride and joy", and people come from far and wide to paint and photograph this very spot. A very short walk will bring you to the famous "Back Shore", a breath-taking walk along the ocean.
Your location is also walking distance to food markets, restaurants, laundry; not to mention, the best ice cream shop! You are one mile to Gloucester center and harbor, where whale-watching and harbor cruises are available. Fabulous restaurants and quaint shops line the main street and harbor of the center. Beyond the center is the "Fisherman at the Wheel" Statue and Memorial, made famous by the movie "The Perfect Storm", and the now famous "Fishermen s' Wives Statue". Just one mile away you will find the nation's oldest artist colony, Rocky Neck, with galleries, quaint shops and restaurants on the water. The Good Harbor House is also three miles to Rockport Center, another area famous for its coastal scenes, galleries, quaint shops and restaurants.
Good Harbor House 1 bedroom vacation rental unit has its own private entrance and large sitting area on the covered veranda, which overlooks the private landscaped grounds. Step out and enjoy the peace and quiet of the beautiful gardens, or just relax and listen to the birds singing. Families with children will appreciate the fenced in yard in this area as well.
This unit includes one bedroom with queen four-poster bed, full bathroom, and a fully-equipped walk through kitchen which opens to a very comfortable living room/den area with queen sleep sofa. Additional amenities include TV, DVD, AC in bedroom, fan in living room and wireless internet. This unit can sleep 4.
There is also a separate private entrance, garden-level suite, with queen bed, private bath, wet bar sink, coffee maker, toaster, micro, TV/DVD, seasonal AC. This unit is perfect for 2 and may be combined with the 1 bedroom unit to offer a second separate sleeping area. Please inquire about weekly and nightly (3 night minimum in season) rates for the suite. Discount given when the suite is rented with the 1 bedroom unit.

Year Purchased: 2000
In 1991, after a career of over 30 years in the health care field, we charted a new course, becoming owners of a bed and breakfast reservation agency for B&Bs, small Inns and vacation rentals in selected areas of greater Boston, Cape Cod and the Massachusetts North Shore.
Why the Owner Chose Gloucester
Gloucester on the Massachusetts North Shore was a part of our service area as owners of the reservation service, so we knew this area very well and often came up to the North Shore on business. On one of these trips we passed a house for sale that was a former guest house we represented. It was one block up from Good Harbor Beach, the most beautiful beach in the area, and the scenic "back shore" ocean walkway. Since charting a new course was in our blood, we bought the house and moved up from the Boston area to Gloucester in 2000. Good Harbor House was born and "the rest" as the saying goes, "is history".
