Read Here and Relax! - Portland Rental Lovely Peaks Island home, fully furnished. Screened porch looking into woods, sunny deck on big side yard. Located on quiet road, 10-minute walk to village. Island is served by ferry boat takes cars, bikes, dogs and people,that leaves from Portland's Old Port. Walking, biking, fishing, kayaking, horseback riding. Low-key island with grocery, library, ice cream shop, kayak rentals, sandwich shop and two restaurants. Ocean access is easy and plentiful; great for picnicking, sunbathing, and swimming! It's a 20 minute ferry boat ride to Portland's "Old Port" which has lots of shops, restaurants,excursion trips and more for those that want to visit Portland for a couple of hours and get back to the island without driving. The trip across Casco Bay is beautful and interesting as this is a busy working harbor. Ships, lobster boats, sailboats and cruisers are everywhere and so much fun to watch for those of us with maritime interests!
