We had a fabulous time in this home for an extended weekend getaway. The community is wonderful, which offers TOW (Top of the World) amenities, including their own ski slope, sleigh riding hills, man-made snow (we were there in February but no natural snow), indoor pool. We also visited during their annual "Winterfest" during presidents weekend, which included ice sculpting competitions, ski competitions, outdoor fire pits with marshmellows and open bar with band. Fun time! The house itself was SO comfortable and inviting. We were 2 families, with a total of 3 adults and 3 children and plenty of room to spare. The kids loved the loft with the games, and the upstairs bedroom where they had their own full bath. The adults controlled downstairs with the 2 bedrooms and their own bath :) Enough TVs in the house so no one fought over control of the remote ;) - The fireplace was awesome and we lit a fire every night using the provided firewood on the side of the house. Everything you needed was in the house, we didn't feel like we were missing a thing. We even lit up the outside grill and bbq'd the first night we were there. From the wrap around porch we could hear the sounds of the running water, which was across the way and down a gully (Dont let the kids wander there alone). If you cut through the neighbors yard, you can easily scale down the hills and walk along the brook. We went to Fernwood for snowtubing (too close to pass up), and also wandered over to the Pocono Reptile zoo (place is great). The whole trip was Simply perfect - Thank you!! :)

I have rented a lot of properties, and I travel with a toddler and this house by far exceeded my expectations. It felt so comfortable and warm. From the cooking utensils to the elaborate dvd collection, I could not ask for anything more. My family had a great time and enjoyed all the amenities of the community. I would definitely recommend this property for an amazing relaxing family getaway

Steve, Our stay at your house was fantastic! You had everything there that you would need with specific locations and directions for everything. The house was clean and organized. The house had a very homey and comfortable feel to it and we had so much fun during or stay. The fireplace was great for the cold nights and I loved the wrap around deck. Also, I want to send you and extra special THANK YOU, for allowing me to bring my dog Moose at the last minute when the dog sitter backed out on me. He loved cuddling up in front of the fireplace and enjoyed his walks around the neighborhood. We all had such a wonderful time!

My husband and I enjoyed our week at your home. The location was great and easy to find. We stayed at another house in Saw Creek and after a week there we still needed our GPS to find the house! You really thought of just about everything we could need whether it was utensils, laundry detergent or books. It was there. I had brought a couple of books with me and was pleased to see that if I finished them I would have some to choose from. The pictures you have posted show things exactly as they are. The screened in porch was a favorite spot of ours even though the temperatures were in the mid to upper 90's all week. Steve was great with accomadating us, first when we originally booked for the summer of '09 and then when because of family circumstances cancelling and re-booking for summer of '10. When staying in the Poconos I absolutely MUST hike Bushkill Falls (a very short ride from Romer's Retreat), hit the outlets, and visit 2 of my favorite "factories" Callie's Candy Kitchen (the best sugar-free candy I have ever had!) and Callie's Pretzel factory. Again all of these activities are a short ride away. Another highlight of my week is seeing the deer come right up to the deck. It was amazing how close they came to me. I was also lucky enough to see a doe nursing her fawn and a young buck right by the deck. I would definitely recommend this house to family and friends. Will possibly consider bringing the grandchildren in the future.

Steve, I just want to thank you so much for the wonderful time I had at your house. You made my holiday great. You thought of everything to make my stay enjoyable. The house has such a warm feeling. With the fireplace going and the deer around the house it was great. I will never forget my stay at your house. Also, the area itself was wonderful. My friends and I did some shopping at the outlets that was fun. What a way to start a new year. I wish you and your wife Linda a Happy 2011. Thanks so much once again for a wonderful time.

We stayed at Romers Retreat Aug 1-Aug 8. There were 6 of us which included 2 adults and 4 teenagers. The house wasn't as big as some others, but we found it big enough. We found Steve to be very accomodating from the first contact. He answered all our questions promptly and fully. We thought the information booklet was especially thoughtful. When they say fully stocked kitchen, they mean it. The only thing I didn't find was some cinnamon which I forgot to bring along, but we made due without it. We brought 12 movies and video games which we didn't need at all! The boys enjoyed the video games. The girls enjoyed the card games and we all enjoyed a movie or two together every night. I even had a question or two while we were there and thanks to the high speed internet, I was able to email Steve and get an answer. The kids didn't bike as much as we thought they would due to the big hills. My husband would drive them up to the pool and/lake and they would bike back down. We all enjoyed the screened in porch, but the best part was that we actually had wild deer eating out of our hands in the driveway about a foot away from the steps to the deck! We enjoyed our week in the Poconos immensely thanks to Steve!

We rented Steve's property for the July 4th weekend. We planned this trip for an extended family get together( 7 adults & 3 kids). Initialy we were not sure if this place is enough to accomodate all us. Once we got in, it was clear that our apprehensions were misplaced. In addition to the beds in mbr & two other rooms, this place had a crib, a futon bed & plenty of comforters. This house was fully stocked whether it be the napkins, kitchen utensils, plates. It had all the basic things necessary to do full fledged cooking and we didn't had to get anything from the stores. In addition the property was conveniently located amongs woods, near attractionsnlike Bushkill falls & Delaware water gap. We enjoyed our stay very much & would definetly return. And we have no hesitation in recommending this property. Thanks Ravi & Vidya

My family had a terrific Thanksgiving at your cozy chalet! The weather was cold, but we were very warm sitting before the fireplace and watching movies from your extensive collection. You have anticipated every of your guests' needs - a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture in the living room and loft, and great beds. We are looking forward to a return trip next spring so we can take advantage of the screened-in porch and patio surrounding the chalet. Thank you very much, Steve. Your attentiveness and concern for your guests are, in my opinion, without equal!

Our family came to the Romer Retreat over our kids' Spring Break. It was after ski season but before the burst of spring - however it didn't matter. We hiked and just stayed together - it was great! The Romer's home was perfect - very comfortable & well equipped. Home away from home! Thanks for everything.

WOW!! I would most definitely recommend the Romer Retreat in Saw Creek Estates to ANYONE who is interested in a wonderful family vacation or romantic getaway. There are plenty of rentals to choose from in Saw Creek, and having personally stayed at a dozen or more places over the last couple of years, I can attest that the Romer Retreat is by far the most comfortable and guest-friendly place I have stayed at. The Romer's have created a space that leaves nothing for the guest to want or need, for they have thought of everything and added a personal touch of ambience to the home. Everything from the updated kitchen with new appliances, the cozy living room with the comfortable furniture and fireplace to the sleep number bed in the master bedroom - make for a wonderful and relaxing vacation any time of the year. They have provided every amenity right down to simple items like scented candles and dozens of DVD's. I know we will definitely be visiting this little piece of vacation paradise again!! Thanks Steve for being so thoughtful and flexible with our requests!! Angela and Scott

We recently stayed at Romer's Retreat between Christmas and New Years. We met there (one family from WI, the other from CT) for a family vacation. We had a great time! There's lots to do there (games, movies) so that you'd never have to leave the house if you didn't want to. The house had plenty of room, and is stocked with all the necessities. Steve was very responsive to my calls/emails, so I felt comfortable about the house prior to our arrival. We hope to stay there again! Thanks, Steve!

This is a great rental at a great price. Whether you want to go out and explore (my dad and me) or stay in and relax (my mom), there is something for everyone to do. The house and its ammenities provides the indoor accomodations, and the Delaware Water Gap/Poconos (plus the big screened porch and wraparound deck) provide the outdoor flavor. Thanks for providing a great vacation spot...

Mr.Romers a great person. Renting his home at Saw Creek was a beautiful experiance. The house is filled with everything you need to feel at home. It was immacualte. The vacation was relaxing as you watched the deer walk through the yards and feed on the vegitation while you eat breakfeast on the screened in porch. Saw Creek has 4 out door pools, two indoor , two indoor jacuzes, one outdoor. lots to do. we look forward to renting it in the winter and spring.

The house was great, there was lots of space, three very well-kept bedrooms, plus all the necessities one needs such as dishwasher, microwave, etc. There was even movies to watch! The area was also a lot of fun, Bushkill Falls is a great place to visit, and lots of flea markets to shop at. There are plenty of restaurants, and other activities such as go-carts. I would definitely rent with Steve again.

While relocating from England to the United States, our family of 5 needed a temporary home to live in for 6 months during the construction of our new home. Steve Romer was very accomodating and allowed us to stay in his home for an extended period of time. He was very easy to deal with; fair and honest. When our home was not ready at the time expected, Steve extended our stay without a question. The home is perfect for a vacation get-away and is filled with every amenity a family could want. We can highly recommend Romer's Retreat as Steve made our transition time much easier with his straight-forward, honest approach.
