Set in a beautiful valley facing Mont St Cyr, the highest point in southern Burgundy, this characterful 18th century farmhouse provides the perfect place to relax and to explore the surrounding area. Only 15 minutes from historic Cluny the house offers accommodation for eleven people in five lovely bedrooms (three en-suite). Every room offers panoramic views across the surrounding countryside. Downstairs is a large fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, cooker and a long table which comfortably seats twelve. The relaxing and spacious living room, with its enormous stone fireplace, comfy sofas, rocking chair and book cases, presents the perfect setting to unwind. On cooler evenings, simply enjoy the glow of a real fire. The orchard makes a wonderful setting for dining al fresco. The swimming pool is floodlit giving an opportunity to take some exercise or simply drift on a hot afternoon. There is a large brick built BBQ for outdoor cooking close by the pool.

The home has five lovely bedrooms (three ensuite). Every room offers panoramic views across the surrounding countryside. The first, offers a wooden framed double bed, en suite bathroom and looks out across fields and woodland. The second is a cosy and south-facing twin room that catches the sunlight all day. From the windows you have spectacular views of Mont St Cyr. A further twin room looks out onto the farmland and woods to the back of the house. The simple furnishings and neutral tones offer a tranquil place to lay your head. Climb the wooden stairs to the second floor where both upper bedrooms have beautifully exposed beam work. Both have double beds whilst the larger room also has a divan bed, which can be converted to a double bed if required. Both top floor rooms have en suite facilities. The double first floor bedroom has an en suite bathroom with white fittings. There is a toilet, wash basin, bath with fitted shower unit. Mirrors, lighting and shaving socket are also present. Dompierre Les Ormes has a number of amenities: post office, supermarket, bank and restaurants. Close by the Arboretum de Pezanin is home to more than 400 species of trees in a peaceful lake side setting.
The medieval town of Cluny with its Benedictine Abbey is also home to the National Stud, shops, bars and restaurants. The area also possesses some excellent underground treasures with a number of prehistoric cave sites. The Castle road takes in 6 major castles in the area including Chateau de Cormatin and the beautiful Chateau de La Clayette where outdoor concerts are held during the summer. To the north lie the vineyards of the Cote d’Or (Nuits St Georges, Beaune) but closer to home is the Macon route. There are numerous long-distance footpaths and country trails in the area - La Voie Verte is dedicated to cyclists, rollerbladers, horse riders and walkers alike. To the West the canals offer boating and other water sport activities.
