What a place to lower your blood pressure! Would you care to rest in the hammock or the swing? Maybe you would like to play in your own private waterfall, or hike down to the pond on one of the many trails that stretch from your private covered porch. Perhaps you would rather enjoy moonrise from the spa after spending your day shopping in Hendersonville, visiting Biltmore House in Asheville, or just taking in the awesome mountain view.
In the 1940s Grandma Barbara was periodically sent here (from up the mountain) to adjust her youthful attitude...and so this spot became known as "the Pout House." There isn't a better place to count your blessings. The Pout House is nestled into 70 acres of mixed hardwood forest, amid creeks, waterfalls, trails and a private spring-fed pond. Our family is the third generation fortunate enough to call this acreage home.
Easily accessed from North Carolina's Interstate I-26 or from historic US Highway 176, this cabin by Cottages of Dark Corner is newly remodeled inside and out. We are minutes from excellent biking, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, scenic drives, and kayaking, as well as fine live entertainment and area dining.

The girls had so much fun playing in the woods! Finding the ducklings on the pond were a treat. My husband and I appreciated the beauty, the quiet, the seclusion and the privacy, but we all enjoyed the birth of your new baby horse the best. Can't wait to come back.
