  This is as close to Heaven as I will ever get! We had 3 couples staying in this fabulous home and were able to enjoy the views from the many lanai's. Everyone had their own bathroom and the kitchen was very well equipped. Magnificient views from each bedroom. Would definately stay again.

  Our stay in South Maui was a memorable time and the owner was helpful in giving us detailed instructions concerning the house which helped alot, The house was beautiful, even nicer than what we imagined it to be. The location was great for snorkling a short walk from the house and close to beautiful beaches. The views from the house were spectacular from looking at the stars at night to the sunrises and sunsets. Our grandaughter took surf lessons one day at a beach near us and loved the experience. Our favorite place to eat was Mama's Fishouse, expensive but the views of the beaches in front of the restraunt were stunning and the food was great. Another great place we discovered was the Coconut Cafe- best fish tacos ever! I would recommend this property to anyone looking for adventure and a home away from home while visiting Maui!

  The property was great and our stay was awesome. It was nice having all the kitchen dishes, beach and pool towels, and beach gear at our disposal. The house was beautiful and close to beaches and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this rental home to others traveling to Maui.

  Our family just returned from staying in this gorgeous home. The home is more stunning than the descriptions and pictures! The ocean and mountain views are spectacular. I loved opening the lanais in the morning and evening. We loved the quick walk to the beach. We appreciated the list of suggested restaurants that was sent by the owners. I would highly recommend this home and hope to someday return to it again. Two reasons that I had to give it a "good" overall experience was #1 when we arrived around 5:30 p.m. the house was just being cleaned and the cleaning service people did not know that we were arriving that day even though we had it booked several months in advance. It was not ready for us until after 8:00 p.m. #2 the hot tub controls stopped working on Sunday. I contacted the after hours number and got a quick response back stating that they would have someone come look at it on Monday. It was not until Wednesday morning that someone showed up. My husband called the property management company and left two messages on Tuesday that were never returned. These do not in any way reflect on the home or the home owners.

  This house was everything we could have asked for, and more...that is, except for more time. Everything about the description and the previous reviews is 100% accurate - from the proximity to Makena Landing/5 Caves to the "gorgeous home is the perfect getaway" (emphasis on the perfect). We too enjoyed evenings in the hot tub under the stars, dinner and drinks on the various lanai's (patios), sunsets at Polo - which looks JUST like the last photo. The gourmet kitchen is VERY well-stocked, and we found ourselves cooking dinner almost every night. I would definitely stay here again - and would highly recommend staying here to anyone looking for an ultra-luxurious, social (good for multiple couples or families) vacation. Thank you for opening your home to us!!

  An excellent location in the Makena area, especially if you enjoy snorkeling as it is only a two minute walk to a small sandy beach for access to the 5 Caves snorkeling/dive location, and a short drive to the Ahihi-Kinau Reserve. This very well-equipped house has spacious lanais on the second level from which you can enjoy dinner and view the evening Maui sunsets. In addition to a dip in the plunge pool at the end of a hot day of touring the island, we enjoyed many relaxing hot tubs under the starlit sky.

  Amazing location for this lovely home within easy walking distance of many beautiful beaches and snorkeling/dive sites. We loved bringing our coffee to the nearby lava point in the morning and swimming with turtles before the snorkeling boats arrived! The house is as pictured- has everything you might need, with a remarkably well-equipped kitchen and gas grill, and the owners are extremely accommodating. We loved the private outdoor shower and the ability to open up the house to cool breezes.(Be aware that if you sleep with the windows open you will be awakened early by the birds, and some road traffic - but in Makena it makes sense to get out early to play in the ocean before the afternoon winds kick up.). The lot next door appears to be used for string construction materials - there is no activity and it did not impact our stay. The neighborhood consists primarily of multimillion dollar properties that are beautifully maintained. We just loved it. On Maui we have stayed at the Four Seasons, Kea Lani, the Elua condos, the Ritz Carleton, and also in Kanapali and Kahana condos, If you don't need the fancy service or frantic pool scene, you will be happy here. Makena's natural beauty is unsurpassed and accesible.

  This past Thanksgiving, we stayed here and enjoyed all aspects of this property. At first, I was not so sure about staying at a house with a pool as after all it's Maui and you should be in the ocean... right ? Well the pool was a great place to relax after a great snorkel and made for a more social evening. All elements of this property were as described and you could not ask for a nicer, better maintained property. Kudos to the owners. With how the house is built, you are able to be as indoor as you want or if preferred, open rooms up with the sliding walls to enjoy a more outdoor feel. With only a very short walk to two different ocean venues, beach or snorkel, you do not need a car to enjoy the local Makena offerings. Big thanks to Kelly and Laura for sharing their amazing Makena beach house.

  Very recently Maui tragically lost one of its heroes in Afghanistan when the helicopter he was in was shot down by enemy fire. When looking for accommodations for the funeral attendees, Kelly and Laura graciously opened their beautiful home and took in the family of the victim. With out a doubt, a selfless, courageous, loving, act by two people who clearly get the meaning of Aloha.

Cancellation Policy: Full refund if you cancel more than 90 days before your arrival, we keep your deposit if you cancel 60-90 days before your arrival and we keep your full payment if you cancel within 60 days. However, if we can reserve our home for your dates we will provide a full refund. We recommend Traveler's Insurance available from VRBO.

Cancellation policy:

Rental Agreement ADDRESS: 5065 Makena Road, Kihei, HI 96753. Phone: 808-879-0801 CHECK-IN TIME is AFTER 3 P.M. HST AND CHECKOUT is 10 A.M. HST. NO Early Check-in or late checkout without prior approval. This is a NON SMOKING unit. PETS - PETS are not permitted in our home under any conditions. DAMAGE/RESERVATION DEPOSIT - A reservation deposit equal to two nights rental plus $49 for the Property Damage Protection Insurance is required upon booking. This must be received within five (5) days of booking the reservation. The deposit automatically converts toward rent. FINAL PAYMENT – The BALANCE OF RENT is due 60 days before your arrival date. CANCELLATIONS – A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur a $50 penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and reservation deposit. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent though we typically will refund your money. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY – The maximum number of guests is limited to eight (8) persons. MINIMUM STAY – This property requires a five night minimum stay. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. If a rental is taken for less than five days, the guest will be charged the five-night rate. INCLUSIVE FEES – Property Damage Protection Insurance is included in your fees. NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE – While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. RATE CHANGES – Rates subject to change without notice. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS – Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS – Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance. PARKING – Please park in the garage or within the gated area of our home. There is room for up to three cars to park. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
