With huge walk-out lanais (patios & balconies), the 2600-square-foot residence has an additional 1000 square feet of outdoor living space. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom and private lanai with spectacular ocean and mountain views. You can watch whales and listen to the ocean from any of our lanais.
We are directly across a small rural road from the ocean and just a couple minutes walking distance from the nearest sandy beach. Just a few hundred yards from the famous Makena Landing snorkeling, diving and kayaking spot, our house, with outdoor shower is the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts. This past Thanksgiving, we stayed here and enjoyed all aspects of this property. At first, I was not so sure about staying at a house with a pool as after all it's Maui and you should be in the ocean... right ? Well the pool was a great place to relax after a great snorkel and made for a more social evening. All elements of this property were as described and you could not ask for a nicer, better maintained property. Kudos to the owners. With how the house is built, you are able to be as indoor as you want or if preferred, open rooms up with the sliding walls to enjoy a more outdoor feel. With only a very short walk to two different ocean venues, beach or snorkel, you do not need a car to enjoy the local Makena offerings. Big thanks to Kelly and Laura for sharing their amazing Makena beach house.

Very recently Maui tragically lost one of its heroes in Afghanistan when the helicopter he was in was shot down by enemy fire. When looking for accommodations for the funeral attendees, Kelly and Laura graciously opened their beautiful home and took in the family of the victim. With out a doubt, a selfless, courageous, loving, act by two people who clearly get the meaning of Aloha.

This house is unbelievable! If you are looking for a house to rent in Maui don't look any further, We have been to Maui numerous times and this the first time we have stayed at this house and we haven't enjoyed our accomdation more then we have staying here. I would highly recommend this one. I have no negatives from the house to share. The house is large, beautiful and stocked well. The house is perfectly located: perched on a bit of a hill to allow breath taking oceanviews from each room, close to beaches, landmarks and Kihei but is secluded enough that at night sitting outside is peaceful and quiet. We loved having a pool/hot tub in the backyard and spent lots of time in them while the kids were napping in the afternoon. Dealing with the owners was a pleasure and made the transaction a pleasure. Replies were always quick and they were always accomadating with any request.

This is a beautiful home. Quiet, very nice area. Away from lots of noise. You can see the Molokini Crater and beautiful views wherever you look. I would recommend bringing some small binoculars, we wished we would have had some. The pool is not as big as the picture looks, but still nice. They have tried to take care of anything anyone would need. You can walk to small beaches from the house, we snorkeled with the turtles. On the instructions it says to turn on the dirt road, but it has been paved, so don't look for a dirt road. We did have a few problems when we got there but those were taken care of quickly. I would totally recommend this to anyone, except someone with a toddler, pool in yard and lots of stairs. We went to the Warren and Annabelle Magic Show in Lahaina and it was hilarious, and he is amazing. We loved Kimo''s Restuarant in Lahaina. Our favorite restaurant was up by the airport, Mama's Fish House in Pa'ia, very expensive but the best we had. We also liked The Fish House in the town south of Makawao, I can't remember the name of the town, but the restaurant was on a corner, and The Waterfront in Wailluku, over by the aquarium. We liked the aquarium also. Buy the coconut 'crack' as they call it, got it on the road to Hana, but you can get it most stores. Our only bad meal was at Maui Tacos in Kihei, and if you like fried fish go to Eskimo Candy in Kihei. It has fresh fish, mostly fried but it was a fun place to go. (got an eskimo candy t-shirt). Fred's in Kihei was okay, but not great. Just save your money, everything is so expensive, but so worth it, and so much fun. I would love to go back, and hopefully will. Also, when you leave, you don't have to clean up, we just straightened up a little, pulled the sheets and towels and put them on the washer, and off we went. Wish we could have stayed longer.

So nice to have the peace and quiet that comes with staying in a house vs a condo or hotel. This was a fabulous week for our family vacation. The house was impeccably clean, extremely comfortable and well-stocked with just about anything you might need. The ocean views and sunsets - spectacular! We liked the location and accommodations so much that we are going to stay at Kelly and Laura's home again next year.

We stay in Maui every summer for 3 weeks and we have rented houses all over the island. We finally found the one house that we can see staying at every year. The location is very convenient to all the beautiful south Maui beaches and has a beautiful view of the Pacific. The house is very open (all the doors slide completely open) and light. There are ample out door spaces to enjoy as well. The house is well stocked with quality items - especially in the kitchen. Best vacation rental!!
