Kathy's Kabins was completely remodeled into a more up-to-date log cabin. Kathy kept you in mind, when it came to the decorating. Each bedroom has its own characteristics. You will see from a sample of the some of the pictures,you can have your choice of décor.
Kathy's Kabins has been remodeling again. We have since put in another full bath, off the master bedroom, making Kathy's Kabin a 2 1/2 bath Kabin and installed a dishwasher, for your convenience.
On the Main floor there are 3 bedrooms.The Log Room is decorated in John Wayne style, with his masculinity and tenderness (has a double bed). The Master Bedroom (has a queen bed) is very romantic, yet relaxing with the warm colors and the woodsy cabinetry, now with your own private bath. The 3rd guest room (has a double bed) is decorated with warm neutral, calming colors. The living room has a futon sofa which folds out to sleep 2 people, along with another sofa for additional family seating.
Upstairs, In the large loft, you will find two more rooms, each having two twin beds, decorated for leisure or sleeping. The entertainment room is also upstairs, along with a Daybed which sleeps 2 people, one on top and the other mattress pulls out from underneath. The teens and kids will enjoy this. The 26-inch widescreen TV is game friendly, has a DVD/VCR and CD player, along with the stereo surround sound system for their movie and game enjoyment.
Kathy’s Kabins is a great vacation spot for 4-14 people. Make your reservation for 2 nights or the whole week. Gather with friends or family for that ski trip, family reunion or weekend getaway and spend the rest of the evening in your own Private, Enclosed "Spa House", just outside the door of your warm cozy cabin.
The Zigzag River and Still Creek collides together, directly behind the cabin, about 200 yards from the back door. You can hear the rushing of the waters as you lay in bed at night. Just picture the peacefulness of the woods and water rushing.
Totaling 10 beds, Kathy's Kabins sleeps 14 people comfortably.
A Sixty-minute drive from Portland Airport, 9 miles from Government Camp. All the comforts of home. Take a secluded walk over a swinging bridge to grocery store, Dairy Queen and many fine restaurants. Go for a nature walk, hiking, fishing, golfing.
Kathy's Kabin living room has a River Rock fireplace with a wood stove, a 26" LCD, widescreen TV, with DVD player, for your viewing pleasure, full-size washer/dryer, fully-furnished kitchen, even a pizza cutter and coffee grinder, all the modern conveniences of home. Local telephone service and cable TV is provided. All flannel bed sheets, linens, down comforters, towels, etc, are provided. Top-of-the-line mattresses, no lumpy beds in Kathy's Kabins. I must say, our stay was absolutely fantastic. The six of us had a blast and truly got the most out of your accommodations. Although the nature of our visit left us feeling a tad bit hungover Thursday morning. We felt it was important to leave the place like we found it. Had so much fun, so many great memories, we are thinking of making it a tradition and returning next year. Thanks again, we will all be sure to tell our friends about Kathy's Kabins.

I really loved this place. Even though there were only two of us and our dog, it was still cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the creek behind the property and the use of the hot tub after a long mt. bike ride. There were plenty of towels, even firewood if you wanted it! The house is well decorated and very clean. My only suggestion to Kathy would be to have some cleaning supplies, a broom to sweep the porch, 409 for the counter, those types of things, I like to keep the place clean.There is a great BBQ restaurant down the street, but shop in Sandy as the grocery store is very expensive. I would reccommend this to anyone with kids, pets or someone who needs quiet. Kathy even met us there with treats for the dog. Close access to skiing, bike trails, fishing and fun! You won't be disappointed, this is a great price when you start looking around for accomodations.

Dear kathy, thank you so much for allowing is the use of Kathy's Kabin for our spring break adventure. The Kabin is quaint, cute and perfect for our party of 10 adults. We all enjoyed the amentities of staying here. All of us enjoyed the ideal snow conditions at the Ski Bowl, summit and Timberline. ?We had ski lessons at the summit and snowboard lessons at Timberline. Again, much aloha and mahalo from the Hamamura and Amano family. We will be back for sure! PS Thanks for the referral to Barlow Trail Roadhouse. The people there were great and the food was also.

We had a marvelous time! We had plenty of room! The cabin was cozy and e loved the warmth of the fireplace. The peace and quiet was much appreciated. We had such a good time and we definately will be back.The towel supply is awesome, we always had enough.

Thanks so much for letting is use your cabin-we had a great time! And the Big snowfall was just an added bonus :). This cabin is in perfect proximity to the ski hills and only a short drive to POrtland. Even after the snow, the roads stayed in godo shape for driving. This cabin has such attention to detail-even decorated for us for Christmas! We loved everything-thanks again!

Okay place, they have great amenities and the location is great...loved the hot tub. BUT Beware of your bill. They will add on for any age kids (even if under 2 years old) and if any bed is messed up other than the ONE that you get with the rental. The 2 person occupancy does not apply to 2 beds. I was charged an extra $50 from my deposit before any explanation. Battled back and forth with Kathy with no resolve. Other than the charges...it was okay. I would personally recommend choosing a different cabin. There are lots of options. Kathy showed up before our check out time and sat in her car waiting. We were a few minutes late leaving, as we were trying to clean thoroughly. I was asked to take the sheets off the bed...except for the pee protector sheet...GROSS! I even noticed some stains on the sheets...GROSS!
Owner response:This guest was quoted over the phone and on his signed rental agreement for all charges. Anyone who occupies a bed is charged. He was quoted for 1 couple (he stated husband and wife), and 3 children. There were 6 beds total used. He tried to tell me later his twin boys (over the age of 2 yrs old) slept with him and wife? How can 4 people sleep in a queen bed? I think someone is not being perfectly honest here, because he got caught trying to get his friend in at no extra charge. There were no other adults mentioned, just 1 couple and 3 children. The guests had called and asked for a later checkout time, I gave them another 2 hours, but when I arrived at the time they were suppose to be checked out by, they were still packing up. . I did not sit in my car, I went inside, that's when I noticed another person carrying out her duffle bag from one of the downstairs bedrooms, who was not paid for, who stayed. I mentioned to this guest, he had another friend stay, when I saw her coming out of the bedroom with her duffle bag, and his reply was yes. Need I reiterate this on an email?That's what he was charged for. They were not cleaning up, they were packing up. All my beds have mattress pad protectors on them, (they are not referred to as Pee Pads) to protect the mattresses and guests, that's what they are for. All women know, sometimes you can't get all the stains out of the protectors. They are washed periodically along with the bedspreads, etc. I am sorry this guest was not happy, only because he got caught for inviting another person to stay and expected to get away with it.

Dearest Kathy, Your cabin was perfect for our anniversary celebration. Upon walking in, we felt very at home. We were actually kind of sad, such a lovely cabin with extra beds, we were sorry we didn't have anyone over to enjoy it with us! But then we got over it :) We will be returning with friends in the near future, we can't keep this little treasure all to ourselves. Our time here has been joyously wonderful. Your cabin has been the ideal place to call home after long days of sigtseeing. Oh, and the hot tub, an added bonus!! Thank you also for the champagne and white chocolate truffles. White chocolate is my absolute favorite. Our best regards, Ben and Glo
