Enjoying the outdoors in year round cottages with lots of wildlife yet near many local attractions.
Lots of water sports - Fishing, canoeing, paddle boating, swimming. The area has lots of lakes and rivers to discover. Not one moment of boredom at Lakeside Melodies.

Kids have a blast! - They can play in the water, on our sandy beach, run around on our spacious grassy fields and have fun at the playground.
A nature lover? - Then you will like Little Pleasant Lake and all the lakes surrounding us. The area is great for biking and hiking. Bring your camera, sometimes deer come out on the property!

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
We are Bill and Carla, the couple behind Lakeside Melodies. The first time we saw this place, we fell in love with it. The rolling green hills, beautiful Little Pleasant Lake, the peaceful creek and the three happy ducks living in it. We bought the place and renovated it into a resort, where we would like to stay ourselves. Our goal is to make our guests feel at home. Call us and we can tell you all about Lakeside Melodies and its rich history.
Why 'Melodies'? Bill is a music fanatic. He's been active in music since he was twelve years old. He played drums since high school. Eleven years ago he discovered a peculiar instrument: the hammered dulcimer. He has played nothing else since and already recorded three cd's and performs frequently. In summer he often plays outdoors at Lakeside Melodies, so lots of free concerts!
Bill is an information technology consultant and Carla is a travel journalist, writer of books and magazines. She's Dutch by the way. So for anyone who wants to practice Dutch or is dying to know more about wooden shoes, tulips and windmills, she's the one. Both are sportive people, love canoeing and biking, so ask them for the best routes in the River Country.

This Feb I spent a weekend ice fishing with 2 of my friends. We were lucky, it was quite cold, but sunny all weekend. Caught a few good ones. We might come back to the lake for Summer to do some more fishing! Had a great time, nice cottage! Catch ya guys (and more fish) later ;-) Eli
Owner response:You are welcome back this summer where we promise much warmer weather and lots more fish!

Had a wonderful time, guys! Jeff (our 10 year old) caught a big large mouth bass, he still talks about it. And I finally found some time to read books. We'll be back this summer for at least a weekend, but we're trying to come a week. The boys want to go fishing again!! Sarah Bender

My husband and I are real nature lovers and love this place, we've been there twice now. It's secluded, really in the middle of nature, between the woods. We rented the Rock 'n Roll cottage (the houses have music themes) and one morning we woke up to deer walking right in front of our window. Owner Bill had told us to watch where the deer drink at the lake every morning, so we've seen deer at least three times that week, but only one time so close to the house. Was a great experience. We rented the boats for birds spotting, saw lots of cranes. Nice thing about Little Pleasant Lake is that it's almost a private lake, hardly any houses on it, other than the resort. And it's no wake, so no engine noise disturbing nature. We had a great time. Must say we visited in May, so quiet times, but it's a small resort so in Summer it's probably still nice without too many people.
Owner response:Yes, We have only four cottages and there is one other house on the lake, so the water is always quiet and open.

This is a good resort for people looking for peace and quiet. We rented two houses for my sister's family and ours. They have canoes and fishing boats, so we spent a lot of time on the water. The beach and the lake are not big, if you're looking for that, you should book a house on an all sports lake. But since we have young children, a small, safe lake is exactly what we need. The houses are at good distance from each other, so you have privacy. The kids liked the grassy fields, played volleyball and badminton. Cutest thing about the place were the pet white ducks, that waddle around. Nice owners, very relaxed people. We'll go back there for sure.
Owner response:Thank you so much for your kind words. If we recall correctly, your kids also spent a fair amount of time playing in the creek!

We just started our guest book in 2009. We get many wonderful comments from our guests and hope that they will also add them here for all to see. Keep watching as the year progresses and stories are added. We hope to see you soon at Lakeside Melodies!
