From the very beginning and through our entire stay, this vacation home did not disappoint us one bit! A group of us from the Bay Area wanted to escape San Francisco's Halloween madness so we were in search of a beautiful place to call home for a few days.. and we found it with this wonderful vacation rental! To our amazement and absolute surprise, this place gave us everything we wanted: a spacious & lovely home that was clean, well-maintained and came with a gigantic hot tub (fits 8ppl!), comfy beds for everyone in our group, top-of-the line appliances so that we can prepare all of our meals, pool/poker/fooseball tables for our enjoyment, backyard access to beautiful hikes, one mile away from town (where you can find grocery stores, great cafes, restaurants, etc.), 3 decks with a gas barbeque and fire pit so that we can eat our meal under the stars, and 2 separate living room area that allowed us plenty of space to lounge and relax for the weekend. And, the icing on the cake for us was the warm and friendly welcome we got from Bob, the owner. He met us upon our arrival and gave us a detailed tour of the place. We were extremely touched when he offered for us to call him if we needed anything at all during our stay. He was genuine, sincere, and had a great sense of humor! We had such a wonderful time that we actually extended our stay an extra night.. and we are already daydreaming about renting the place for a weekend getaway this winter. My friends and I had a great mens trip in South Lake Tahoe at this house and loved it! The rooms were plentiful and enormous, the kitchen was well stocked, very clean and in very good condition. It was everything we could have hoped for for my first trip to Lake Tahoe. I would recommend this house to anyone thinking of taking a good sized group to Tahoe for a summer of outdoor adventure and comfortable recreating away from home.

Awesome Tahoe Retreat!!!

We are so glad we stumbled across this house! When our previous rental cancelled on us the morning of our arrival, we were scrambling to find a replacement. Boy, are we glad we came across this one! The house is so private and sits on a huge lot. The back yard has a huge grassy area, as well as a tire swing that all the kids in our group loved. The pool table, hot tub, and fuse ball table were a big hit, too. The kitchen is large and spacious. The scenery is beautiful and we were even able to take a hike on the trails that back up to the house. We weren't too far from the lake and it was so nice to be able to come back each day to this house and relax in peace and quiet. The bedrooms are great and the master bathrooms are fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back soon!

I just got back from a week at the house. Bob was amazing and this house is much more than promised! We had a great weekend. Location is phenomenal with unreal privacy. We have a lifetime of memories from the weekend. From the sprawling estate, the giant hot tub, astounding kitchen and overall beautiful amenities, this house is second to none! If you are going to Tahoe, there is not another house that can hold a candle to this one. The "man cave" apartment under the garage was a big hit and is a great set aside for the teenagers in the group to have their own getaway complete with refrigerator, media, and their own poker table!. I am awestruck and eternally grateful that this house was so amazing and exceeded our every desire. The house was well stocked, the kitchen is to die for! We even got to see some wildlife and the hiking just immediately outside the back door was some of the greatest I have been on with an incredible trout stream just a few hundered yards away. Everyone that attended our function was also in awe over the house wondering where to find it on line and how to book it themselves. Bob was incredibly easy to work with, he does everything possible to make sure your stay fulfills all your dreams of an incomparable family vacation. The kids played for hours upon hours in the back yard and on the tire swing. We rented during the summer and as stunning as it was in June, I can only imagine how great the house is also for ski season. The immediate access to Heavenly is great (minutes away) and you are close to the South Lake activites, but you feel as though you are seperated from the world in your own private mountain resort. The house accomodates the eighteen people with massive room to spare! LOOK NO FURTHER! You will miss out on the vacation of your lifetime if you go anywhere else! Thank you Bob for being a part of the uniting of two families with fond memories that will remain with us for our lifetime.

NYE From the down under Aussie!

I spent NYE 2010 in the most amazing estate that i have ever set foot in! We had a massive group of 15 peeps and the house ate us up with ease. Not once did u ever feel that with a group so large did any one invade your space!!! The estate provided the perfect amenities - especially the hot tub and king size pool table (my personal favorites). Bob is the owner and meet us there upon arrival to show us around. This was quite a nice touch and he insisted that he was available for any needs. Can i say that i really loved the place! the showers are out of this world... walk in with multiple heads... immaculate fittings... polished floor boards! I would defiantly go back to this estate. It is the perfect proximity to the mountains and casinos! U feel like you are isolated as the street that it is on is soo quite! I would recommend this place to all ages and types! Great place Bob and hope to see you again one day.... soon! Cheers Danny

New Yrs Group Trip

We stayed at this beautiful and spacious home for New Yrs and had a fantastic time. The house was clean and comfortable, and easily had more than enough room for our group of 15. We especially loved the kitchen, which had almost all the appliances you would want in your own home and we were able to make meals for 15 people without a problem. The views from the house are amazing and proximity to casinos, restaurants, skiing made for a very convenient stay. Definitely the best tahoe rental I've ever stayed in and I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants all the comforts of home up in the mountains!

Fabulous house for New Years Eve

Myself and 14 of my friends recently stayed in this fabulous mountain estate and had the time of our lives!!! We reserved the estate as it was close to Heavenly and was large enough for our big group to celebrate New Years Eve. We found the listing online and were please to find that the estate surpassed our expectations. The estate is beautiful, is in a great location, and offers something for everyone! The owner, Bob, met us at the property and was very nice. He gave us a full tour of the property and made sure we had everything we needed to have the best time possible. The house is HUGE and absolutely gorgeous! A perfect accommodation for large groups. We had had 5 couples in our group and 5 singles and we all had beds. The bed I slept in was SO comfy! The 2 master bathrooms were HUGE and each had a large jet bathtub (one with a tv) and a giant shower with multiple shower heads! The kitchen was very nice and equipped with everything you would need to prepare a meal for a large group. There is a large dining room table that most of us could sit at and enjoy our meals together. We all LOVED the hot tub which was had seats for 8 people to relax and enjoy the amazing views! The house was very close to the casinos and Heavenly Ski Resort. There was something for everyone in the group to do for fun. Many of us hit the slopes, and others hiked around near the property. There is a huge backyard and there are sleds and other fun toys to play with if you don't feel like leaving the property. There is a pool table and a large tv downstaris with a giant couch. We regretted that we had to leave and would have loved to have stayed longer! I would highly recommend this property to anyone and would love to stay at the mountain estate again in the future! An Amazing place to Stay !!!!!!!!!!!

Our group of 16 travelled to South Lake Tahoe from the UK for Christmas 2009, and for all of us this was to be our 'holiday of a lifetime'. What more can I say, other than this Mountain Estate is absolutely amazing, and completely made the holiday for us. The setting is perfect, and the location in relation Heavenly Village and the casino's etc is ideal. We were met by Bob, who told us all we needed to know about the house, and answered any questions we may have had. He was extremely friendly and helpful, and left us in no doubt that if we needed to contact him at any point, then he was only a phone call away. The house itself is awesome, and comfortably accommodated all 16 adults. We couldn't have asked for anything better, and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is dreaming of a perfect holiday / vacation in South Lake Tahoe. Thanks again Bob, and we hope to see you sometime in the very near future.

Family Vacation at South Lake Mountain Estate

We are from the UK and were traveling to the US for a family wedding. After the wedding ourselves and some family from Napa were travelling up to Tahoe for a week. I booked and paid for the above and clearly read all details in the contract. When we arrived the owner met us and gave us a very very indepth and detailed tour of his home. We were told the do's and dont's and it was made very clear the house had to be left in perfect condition. We left after a week and would point out the below. 1. The bedroom 'outside' next to the garage where a couple were sleeping has no toilet facilty, is infested with spiders and bugs and at noght it is pitch black from the house to this 'room'. Eventually the couple moved into the house and slept in the lounge. 2. There are no curtains or blinds in any of the rooms. Being woken up every day before 6am is not ideal on a 'relaxing' holiday. 3. Fly screens are missing or broken so you cannot let air in of an evening due to mosquitos. 4. Basic kitchen esentials, for example a kettle!, are not included. We bought one. 5. There is only off road parking for '2' vehicles. But, hey we made the best of it........ Until we came home. You see you have to leave a substantial deposit. So a few days AFTER i return to the UK i receive an email with detials on why i am losing part of my deposit. Reason 1: Payment for cleaning and refilling the hot-tub. Uhm, ehy i asked. Well you used it and didnt shower prior to entering. It doesnt state this in the contract, there are no signs, and on his extremely long winded tour he didn't mention it. Reason 2: A coffee stain in the master bedroom. Contractor had to be called to clean it. We informed the owner of this stain, that was already there, but ended up paying for it anyway. Reason 3: All transfer charges between the banks for deposit and final payment, yes we had to pay for those, without being told. So, yes we are coming back to Tahoe, but never to this place. All i say is beware, but not of the bears.................................

Hi Bob, On behalf of the BUMS, our annual ski group, I wanted to thank you for an outstanding time in Tahoe. The house was absolutely perfect. Great amenities, location and you were a perfect host. We especially enjoyed hanging out in the hot tub after skiing and enjoying the great view in the backyard. We had plenty of room to spread out including great bed rooms to sleep in. The kitchen was outstanding especially the top of the line appliances. Thank you for going out of your way to make our stay a great one. We felt immediately like we were visiting an old friend. Hello Bob. We rushed out on Thursday without getting the chance to write in your guest book. So many great things to say and not enough time. What a beautiful house in such a great natural setting. 20 years I've organized this ski trip and your place was by far the best we've ever stayed. So hard to find rentals in Tahoe with all the modern conveniences and comfort your home offers. We also loved the location (ski resorts, restaurants, casinos, ski rental shops and grocery shopping). Favorite among the group was the kitchen and dining/living area. We only went out to eat once...why go anywhere else? So thanks a ton and we really appreciate your personal service. Most renters just send you a map, a key code and then good luck if anything goes wrong. Cheers, David

An amazing house with tons to offer. The views are fantastic and the hot tub is just what you need after a day of skiing. The house is very clean inside with a fantastic modern kitchen. I would highly recommend this house for those looking for a beautiful Lake Tahoe get away.

The house is even nicer than the pics. The setting was private and the grounds were exceptional. There is plenty of room for everybody to get comfortable without feeling crammed into the house. The kitchen is first rate and evrything you could ever need is supplied. Access to the National Forest does not get any closer, it's right out the back door. Looking forward to a Winter visit!
