Santa Cruz has strict quiet hours for vacation rentals. The hours are 10 pm to 8 am. This is not a party house.

An elegant, peaceful retreat awaits you in this beautifully appointed beach house. The three-bedroom, two-bath vacation rental sits in an unusually quiet residential area with access to all of the area’s most popular attractions: It is located three blocks from Twin Lakes Beach (with lifeguards and fire pits and half a mile from the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. It’s just a ten-minute drive(without traffic) to the Boardwalk amusement park, Capitola Village, and lively downtown Santa Cruz; ten minutes from redwood forests with miles of hiking and biking trails; a 40-minute drive from Monterey Bay Aquarium; and a 45-minute drive from the San Jose Airport with no traffic.

The open floor plan, downstairs bedroom and bath and no steps to get into the house make this a wheelchair-friendly home should you have such a need.

This comfortable, beautifully decorated house includes a fully equipped kitchen with concrete counters and upscale appliances - everything you need to entertain at home. All three bedrooms have their own private decks and a flat-screen TV with YouTube TV. Downstairs floors offer radiant heat, and a cozy gas fireplace in the living room. 55" 4K flat screen smart TV above the fireplace which swivels so you can sit in the backyard and watch TV with the accordion doors open, i.e. sporting events.

If you have to bring your work with you, the home is equipped with high-speed WIFI, and even works well in the backyard!

The fenced-in backyard has a private hot tub, where you can relax under the stars, as well as a table for outdoor dining and a gas BBQ. There is even a wagon provided with sun chairs, beach umbrellas, boogie and skim boards, and toys to make your beach vacation complete. Linens and towels are provided. Just bring your swimsuits and enjoy! Sleeps one to eight people. This is a nonsmoking house.

Amazing stay!!

This property far exceeded our expectations!! It reflected the listing perfectly and included additional touches that made our stay delightful! The space was very clean and we appreciated the amount of towels, bedding, and activities included in the home. Our host was helpful, thoughtful, and communicative. I would recommend this spot to anyone and hope to stay here again in the future!

A mid-week holiday for family

Fabulous location and very clean! A comfortable home with a few recommendations for the owners. First, the beds need to be replaced in all rooms. Second, the couch and the LR chairs need to be replaced - it just may be time to replace the furniture in this lovely home. Finally, given that there is cleaning fee, we would not expect to strip the beds and to takeout all the trash. We understand the need to start laundry and to start dishwasher, but the other items seemed a bit much. With a check in time of 4 and a check out time of 11- it means that the last morning of your vacation ends up being breakfast followed by cleaning the home. The check-n and check-out times align with hotels ---- but with hotels, you just leave the room.

Family Trip to Santa Cruz

We loved this place! Very accommodating and a very nice location!! Quiet neighborhood and very close to the beach, stores and restaurants! We had my 2 and 1 year old grandsons with us and they had everything we needed for them too! Highly recommended!

Excellent Holiday Getaway

We rented Maureen and Nick’s property to have space for our family of 5 when visiting my in-laws who live locally. This is an annual tradition and this is the best rental we have found. It truly felt like home. More than enough space for our family and we even hosted a family birthday dinner here with a few additional adults and were quite comfortable. They have every beach amenity you could think of from wagons to sand toys and beach tolls and the kids loved the hot tub in the beautiful backyard. We will definitely look to rent again!!

Girls get away

The home was perfect very clean, decorated lovely with abundance of amenities . The yard was perfect size with a good size table and Nice hot tub in yard we didn’t get to use it , next time! The location was great we walked to the beach, harbor and restaurants we had beautiful weather and couldn’t of had a better time. Thank you Maureen

My husband and I work and live in Silicon Valley. We are Ohio transplants but have called San Jose our home for over 30 years so I guess we are locals now. We love to hike, bike, fish (my husband) and relax at the beach.

Why they chose this property

Even though we only live 25 minutes from the property we feel like we are on vacation whenever we go to Santa Cruz. The stress and traffic of Silicon Valley makes coming to Santa Cruz so relaxing. We had been looking for a vacation rental for over 3 years as we needed a downstairs bed and bath and an open floor plan for our son who uses a wheelchair. We also wanted to be close to a beach with no stairs so we could easily get him to the beach. 420 9th Ave. met and exceeded our needs.
