Relax and enjoy your stay at Sandy River Beach. Enjoy the ever changing sunrises and colorful sunsets in this laid-back non commercial real life fishing village. Enjoy birdwatching from your own deck or hike the beach or try the many trails that abound in the area.
Many daytrips include several lighthouses in the area as well as FDR's Campobello summer home. Local "catch of the day" seafood can be purchased at the co-op about three miles from the rent as well as lots of local produce at the local farmers markets. Acadia National Park is a great daytrip as well as Raye's Mustard Mill in Eastport... the last true working stone-ground mustard still in use.
Also very close by is Bartlett Maine Estate Winery... the first in Maine. All in all a very relaxing place to stay but not so far out of the way. A great way to end the day is with a glass of your favorite wine on the porch swing... looking at the stars overhead and wondering who is running the rest of the world...
