I stayed at this Paris apartment with my husband and daughter (10 yrs) for just under a week. The weather was bright but cold. Paris wore an Autumn gown. The apartment was excellently situated near lively areas of Montmartre, very cosy, clean and bright and just right for our needs. Well described in the listing and the owner very helpful and welcoming. Recommended.

Spent a great nine days in this lovely part of Paris and the apartment was great. The location simply couldn't be better and the facilities were everything we needed. Montmartre now feels like our second home and this is in no small part due to the accommodation we enjoyed. We would return.

Consigliatissimo. Grazie Elaine!Claudia & Carlo

We've been back a week and already miss our home away from home!!! My mother and I truly enjoyed the apartment. The location was picture perfect and the flat was comfy and convenient. My mother (who is 82) especially appreciated the Montmartrebus at the end of each day. Montmartre has always been my favorite section of Paris and now I have a wonderful flat to stay at when I'm there. Thank you Elaine!

This was our first experience in renting an apartment over the internet and Elaine proved to be both kind, patient and professional with her contract and trustworthy. Her charming place does feel like a home away from home and we now feel we prefer renting an apartment than a hotel room. Liked the area,we chose to walk "the bute" but its strenuous after walking all day to visit...take the bus!The traffic is continouous in the street but it is away from more busy areas. Elaine graciously offers guides and helpful information and certain commodities which were appreciated. Accepts well positive suggestions. Merci de nous avoir fait confiance avec votre appartement. Nous gardons de beaux souvenirs de notre 31 ième anniversaire de mariage et la pluie n'a certes pas arrêté notre visite effrénée de Paris.

We all enjoyed our time at 102 bis, dodging the "sketcherazzi", savoring nutella crepes, and taking in all the charm and detail of Paris. We absolutely love the metro system! Thank you for a comfortable, memorable stay :)

What a fantastic apartment!!! Whilst our time in Paris was short, staying in this apartment made our trip to see Paris in the February sunshine perfect! Excellently kitted out (thank you, thank you for the hairdryer!!!) and with a wealth of tips and hints from previous residents to help you during your stay, Elaine has really thought of everything! The apartment is excellently located in the quieter end of Monmatre, you are able to see Sacre Couer from the balcony window, which drew a gasp of surprise as we arose on our first day! A beautiful gem in a beauiful city- thanks Elaine- we will be back!!

We have just spent 3 days in the appartment, and it was perfect. Quiet, cosy, warm, charming, and near to some wonderful restaurants (try the new one just down the road in rue Lepic "Des Si & des Mets" which is "sans gluten" and absolutely wonderful food). We will definitely try and come again. Elaine was friendly and incredibly helpful, so we felt that we always had someone to ask if we needed anything - which we didn't!

Four of us rented the apartment in early September, 2008. We really enjoyed the sense of being part of Paris, without feeling like 'ordinary tourists' - whom we watched filing up and down the Rue Lepic on walking tours! The apartment lived up to its description on the website, something I had been uncertain would happen. It was thoughtfully and thoroughly equipped, as well as being visually attractive. Everything worked as it should have. The recommendations for restaurants, shopping etc were well-informed and we really enjoyed the bustle of the Rue des Abbesses and the range of food shops there. The metro is convenient and the Rue Lepic quiet, but very close to the bustle of Montmartre. Only thing to remember - coming home is unavoidably uphill! Would we stay there again and recommend to others? Most certainly - it gave us freedom as visitors, a comfortable environment and a sense of belonging in Paris.

We had a lovely time at Elaine's apartment, right in the heart of Montmartre. Although it's only a stone's throw from Place de Tertre and a 2 minute walk from Sacre Coeur, there are no tourists and it's very quiet. The Metro station is only a five minute walk away and the sight from Sacre Coeur over Paris is breathtaking! The apartment itself is very comfortable and cosy. There's a PC and WiFi/WLAN, a DVD Player with a lot of movies and a very comprehensive "Guide to Paris" from Elaine herself, with lots of helpful informations. I can recommend this location with good conscience!

Dear Elaine, Spending 10 days in your apartment in Paris made us feel like Parisians! We loved it. From the bells of Sacré Coeur to the "secret" gardens in back, from happy people strolling up and down Rue Lepic to that beautiful Linden tree across the street - it all added to a wonderful experience.Merci beaucoup!Elke and David

Our holiday in Paris was made even more fantastic by our stay in Romantic Montmartre. Even before we arrived, Elaine's friendly and helpful advice was greatly appreciated. On arrival, the personal touches were lovely and the comprehensive information on local establishments etc were very useful. Thank you for making us feel so welcome in your lovely Parisian apartment -and what a FABULOUS location. (And we can highly recommend two lovely girls for babysitting so you can enjoy an evening(s) out, child-free. Elaine has their details). Thanks again Elaine. We look forward to returning.

We have had a wonderful stay here in 'Romantic Montmartre'. The apartment is very comfortable and great thought has been given to guests experience including the provision of a helpful guest book, recommendations for local restaurants, and provides useful facilities such as TV, DVD, and PC. The apartment has a lovely open outlook throughout. A peaceful setting in a characterful neighbourhood. Highly recommended.

My wife and I rented the apartment for five days. It's a really nice place, with pretty much everything you might need as a home from home. The street is nice and quite and the surrounding area is ...well quite simply very charming. A little walk downhill ( uphill coming home ) to the metro means that getting out and about around Paris is no problem. We went for our aniversary and my wife loved it. We'd recomend it.

We really enjoyed the visit and the apartment was the perfect place to kick back after a day walking around and sight-seeing. The apartment is conveniently located and quite. Great food suggestions, too! I am certainly looking forward to my next trip.

Despite being so late in submitting my comment, the memory of our Paris stay is fresh in my mind. My parents, my children, and I stayed there for 3 days, and it was perfect for us!! The kids, being 3 and 5, loved being able to roam around in a "real" Parisian place, and it eased the little ones' anxiety about traveling, to be in a home-like place. Elaine was so welcoming and responsive even before we arrived, and I loved being able to meet her in person. My dad loved having free wireless internet, and I even uploaded photos so my husband could see what we were up to each day. Overall, a GREAT experience, and if I get to go back to Paris with my husband, we'll definitely stay there.

It's now over three months(!), I'm writing as promised in your guestbook, but it seems only yesterday that we spent such a wonderful week in Paris. We walked to the galleries and cafes every morning, returning in the evening 'back home' up the hill to our flat in Montmartre. It was always so welcoming, so comfortable and perfectly placed away from the rush of Paris traffic. In the evenings, after a meal, we wandered out and enjoyed the view across Paris. The old streets nearby and their atmosphere will always be for me, the real Paris. We are both vegetarians and we survived(!), buying all we needed in the small shops down the hill, always fresh and always a fantastic quality. Once we get a chance to return to Paris, we wouldn't want be anywhere else, but Romantic Montmartre. Sue and Mick October 23-27 2007

A perfect spot for a short break without the confinement of hotel accomodation. Montmartre has the atmosphere of a small village whilst being within easy striking distance of Paris and beyond. Local nightlife is abundant - the restaurants are super leave aside the Moulin Rouge! The apartment can comfortably sleep a family of 4, and the WIFI internet access is a real bonus. Overall strongly recommended for a short break.

Bonjour Elaine, We loved our week in your cozy apartment. The information you shared during our trip planning and your guidebook was so helpful. Montmartre has come to feel like home, like a village we return to form your city travels. We've learned to pick up what we need as we return up the hill - and those local boulangeries always beckoned us in to enjoy another delectable dessert on the balcony! We knew we would love Paris - and we very much look forward to a return stay here at Romantic Montmartre.

Have had a wonderful time in Paris once again - it is still such a wonderful place. Have eaten far too much (but then again have walked miles - maybe walked it off?) The apartment is great - loved looking out the windows at the passing world - very quiet for its location. It had all we needed for our 8 day stay... Merci beaucoup.

Hi all, Location, location, location. We have just spent 12 days in Elaine's truly Parisian appartment. Where artists work away in their studios below, where you can walk two minutes up the hill to get your fresh baguettes, where your nearest mini-mart is the grocers from the film "Amelie". Only five minutes walk to "Amelie's" cafe. Probably a hundred cafe's and bars within easy walking distance. Broadband facility a great assett for planning trips, weather etc. And keeping teens amused when mum and dad are exhausted from touristing. A couple of good trips with teens. Paris Catacombs and an introduction to D-Day and the landing beaches up in Normandy. Try Segway tours for an easy day out on the train for the latter. Moulin Rouge also great for teens - also in walkin distance. Have fun.

The moment I walked inside, I felt like I walked into my new home. We enjoyed the area and it's accessibility to Paris central. Opening the window and looking down into the street scenes was entertaining. Great restaurants and shops nearby to make life easy. Of course we did not have enough time and will make every effort to return soon.

This place is fantastically home from home. If you are looking for a wonderfully relaxing time in a flat with a warm feel and windows that let you sit and watch the Parisian life pass by your open French windows, then this is defiantly the apartment for you. We had the warmest of welcomes from Elaine and the hand produced guidebook left in the apartment took all the stress out of finding the local amenities. This flat is a wonderful bolt hole from the city life and its location could not be better for exploring the city. It was the first time that we had stayed in Paris and truly felt like we belonged. We will defiantly be back and next time we’re bringing friends.

We just loved Paris; and Romantic Monmartre was a perfect base from which to explore. Set away from the hordes of tourists flocking to the Sacre Coeur, the apartment is on a quiet, cobbled street and provides a real slice of Paris life. The apartment was comfortably furnished and well equipped and we would definitely base ourselves here again and would also recommend the apartment to friends. Monmartre is completely self-contained, with great restaurants, delis and atmosphere. But still it is a brisk walk downhill or easy metro ride to the Seine and the Centre of Paris. We walked the length and breadth of Paris – which is a wonderful city - but returning to Monmartre at the end of the day was a real pleasure. Thanks Elaine for your wonderful hospitality

Our family of four were absolutely delighted with the charming, fresh and comfortable Romatic Montmartre apartment, with its treetop outlook front and rear. It is situated on top of a quiet, winding, cobbled street, right in the heart of Montmartre, close to the magnificent Sacre Coeur and convenient for restaurants, supermarkets and metro. It could not have been better. We will be back! Many thanks!

This really is what you imagine a romantic apartment in Paris to be, but so few actually are. The location couldn't be better - a few minutes stroll from Sacre Coeur, and half a minute to the nearest excellent restaurant. Lots of shopping, too, and the apartment itself is bright and airy and spacious ... the only sound to wake you in the morning is the birds in the courtyard behind, and the view is genuinely fab - highly recommended!
