Our stay was amazing! From the minute we walked in the door we were at peace, soft music playing, home baked goody on the table all the little touches made this trip amazing. We spent the days fishing, my wife was the lucky one and made all the catches, star gazing, played some games and rested. We took a drive into the community and visited all the shops, everyone was very friendly. If you get a chance purchase a fried pie... you'll want to take some home. So good! We enjoyed walking around the property and enjoying the beauty that surrounded us. We also had a visit from a cat while there, she loved sitting in our laps while we rocked on the porch... she even tried to help us fish. We couldn't have asked for more, this was the perfect getaway and we can't wait to return.

We spent seven wonderful days in this fantastic cabin. The description and photos in the listing do not do it justice. The view from the back porch of the pond and the hillsides is very relaxing. The nearest town is Crossville and it has many things to visit and explore, including wineries. We will be back and will recommend this place to our friends.
Owner response:You were wonderful guests too, and we hope to see you again! Thank you for your kind comments, Rosanna

We wanted to get out of town for just a couple of days to relax and rejuvenate.....and we found the perfect place! We were only able to go for a Friday and Saturday, and I can tell you that this was the perfect location to get away from it all. The cabin is just lovely, the setting so serene. Sitting out on the porch - even though it was very cold - was perfect. Being there with the love of your life for almost 40 years, watching the sun go down over the trees, the peace and quiet that one can only find when there are no TV’s, no internet and no phones…..with a sleeping, purring cat laying on your lap (there were 2 adorable “house cats”)….and knowing that God is control…this is what you will find in this peaceful place. To the Horst family….Thank You for creating this little slice of heaven, and know that we will return.

We enjoyed Two's Company this past week! What a wonderful experience! We absolutlely loved the cabin and the area. My husband was so proud of the fish he caught! The community has so many nice people and we loved meeting them. We are still enjoying the goodies we bought at the bakery, mill, and stores. We will definately return and will bring friends back to this unique, peaceful, relaxing place. Thanks Rosanna and Martin for sharing your piece of heaven with city folks like us!

Picture this...drive several miles back on gravel roads, pull through the gates leading to the "60 acres", drive back through the woods, over the dam that divides your private lake from the lake shared by two other cabins, pull in at the side of the cabin, walk up the steps to the porch all the while not being able to take your eyes of the BEAUTIFUL view, open the patio door....music plays softly from some unseen place, the aroma, also coming from some unknown place, like a garden of flowers, the only light...a lamp lit on the fireplace mantle and a lamp lit on the beside table, a fresh bouque of flowers stands in a large glass vase in the center of the kitchen table along side a bottle of grape juice and two wine glasses. Walking around you discover books on the mantle and movies beneath the tv that encourage couples to hold to their marriage vows. Candles sit in votives on the wall around the jaccuzi, and sit atop holders alongside the edge, as well as on a large candleabra resting in the floor next to the tub, and upon the chance you decide to fill the jaccuzi and slide in with your sweetheart...they wait to be lit. Bubble bath also sits waiting at the edge of the tub. Walking around the side of the bed you find a shelf on the wall filled with things signaling that THIS is the womans side of the bed...several kinds of "smell goods" rest atop this shelf, you also find three books that "read" you better than you read them, they encourage you to be the kind of wife god intended you to be. The little touches are numorous. I loved the little bird house figures that were used as tie backs for the curtains in the bathroom :) We never wanted to leave. You can catch fish in the lake sitting on the porch! It was so perfect. We got there and wanted to stay at the cabin the entire time: you don't need "things to do" at a place like this. We hope to come back very soon! Thank you so much Horsts' for sharing your little slice of heaven with us...and Rosanna, your smile was so welcoming!

We stayed for 5 nights and it was a little piece of heaven on earth - pure peace and tranquillity. We started to unwind the moment we arrived. We saw a lot of new wildlife here. It even came straight to us - a little skunk came swimming across the pond one morning! The rowing boat was great fun. The village is very different from any village we have seen before and the shops were quaint. We had a lovely lunch in the Country Porch one afternoon and loved watching the humming birds outside.

Cabin In the Woods was better than expected. "Two's Company" is the perfect place to kick back and relax. The personal touches made the seven days we spent in seclusion like 'Heaven'. Our long walks, feeding the fish, paddling the boat, swinging on the porch, visiting the bakery, and sampling ice cream at "The Back Porch" were only a few of the many fun activities we experienced this week. We have already talked about coming back again as soon as we can. Thank you for providing such a neat and beautifully decorated cabin for us to enjoy!!! Donna and Ron from Nashville, Tennessee

My Wife and I celebrated our 21st. annaversary at Muddy Pond in Monterey, and we could not have had a better time. Its impossible not to get lost in the admirable, slower paced life of this charming Mennonite/ Amish farm community. We loved the cabin, local stores, and peace and quiet. The bakery is a must; Best fresh sourdough bread I've ever eaten, fresh from the oven! We will go back. Only negative: Could not get the pilot lit on gas fireplace.

We stayed 2 nights in this wonderful place, so peaceful and serene. No tv, telephone, nor internet, just relaxing in one another's company, enjoying our beautiful surroundings in this wooden cabin on the lake. We are thankful to have times like this, in a place like this, to refresh ourselves in this busy, bustling world. Thank you for making this a reality.

My husband surprised me with a trip to Cabin at the Pond for our 19th wedding anniversary on Sept. 26, 2008. The cabin was absolutely wonderful! It was so quiet and peaceful. The cabin itself was very clean and well furnished. All of our cooking utensils/pots and pans/towels and washclothes were furnished along with a washer and dryer. All we had to take was our food and a desire to relax! The gazebo was awsome! It is right on the water. We fished off of the deck of the gazebo and relaxed in the swing. The back porch has a hammock chair swing and a hammock along with rocking chairs and a grill. The whole trip was perfect!! We will definitley be going back as soon as we can and would recommend it to anyone that wants to relax and reconnect. Thank you for sharing this little piece of Heaven with us!!

Absolutely beautiful!!! Please don't change a thing. We came here on our honeymoon with plans to go places and do things, but once we got to "Two's Company" we just couldn't bring ourselves to leave. Other than a trip to town for groceries and going out to dinner once we never left.. It's so serene and beautiful here we could easily stay longer. Thank you very much Martin and Rosanna. The cinnamon buns were excellent ! We'll be back if you'll have us :)

What a wonderful break from such a busy life. Thank you for all the extra special touches. This place is such a blessing, it is like a small piece of heaven. Sometimes life gets so busy and people often forget the things that truly matter. You can't have a family without a marriage first. Thank you for providing a place where marriage becomes stronger so that families can become stronger. This is our second visit to your cabin and we will return again soon.

Thanks so much for this wonderful cabin. This was our second stay here. We're already looking forward to coming back. This area has such personality, even the birds and catfish seem to know they are special. We had so much fun feeding the fish, watching the birds and listening to all the sounds of peace. The Lord has truly blessed this place.
