My wife and I stayed in Phil's guest house during February 2012. It is a wonderfully bright and charming small house that gives the feeling of living in the desert. You don't hear the neighbors and the property is so large that you seem to be alone. The owner, Phil, is a marvelous host: a very friendly, helpful and unintrusive gentleman (in the true sense of the word) who spends a lot of time with is art. His ceramic art and uplifting paintings decorate the guest house. When we arrived, he had the fridge stocked with orange juice, cheeses, bread etc to get us through the next day and then some. There was coffee ready for brewing and he invited us to dinner at his house so that we would not have to cook on the first day there. Phil became a friend over that month and we would stay there without hesitation again. Whether we do or not, I know that the next time we are in Tucson we will at the very least drop by for a visit. I recommed this property without any hesitation whatsoever.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The best way to get a sense of this fabulous rental is to read the owner's descriptions of the property. What he describes is exactly as we found it to be. We have been there for 2 weeks, returned for 1 week, and plan to return for 4 weeks in 2011. We enjoyed the remoteness, quietness and privacy. The guest house itself is located across the patio from the owner's home. We found very adequate and ample supplies. We found everything to be in good working order although we used the kitchen infrequently. The comfortable "home" is unique in that it is decorated with the talented owner's art. The owner is more than a landlord. If you want more services he is willing to act as a host and provide information to enhance your experience. He is extremely knowledgeable regarding the area and is willing to share his perspective. The facility is ideal for two people who desire a unique guest home for a retreat. We highly recommend it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.
