This professionally designed log cabin,"Trout Haven" is nestled atop a 700 foot bluff, on a private and secluded 2 1/2 acre, wooded lot. The multi-storied cabin offers unobstructed views of the surrounding hills, Sugarloaf Mountain, and river valley from every room on all three levels.
The main level consists of an expansive great room with soaring vaulted ceilings. This open plan contains the kitchen, dining room and a large sitting area, centered around a tremendous native stone fireplace and entertainment center. The entertainment center is complete with TV, VCR,DVD, stereo as well as a music and video library. Heavy wood timbers span overhead. The two storied floor to ceiling window wall, affords panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. There is a 1/2 bath conveniently located on this floor. There is a deck located off of the great room, that expands the full length of the cabin. It is furnished with very comfortable Adirondack seating, so that you can enjoy the view and sounds of nature.
Trout Haven has a comfortable sleeping capacity of 6, with plenty of space and privacy for all. The large master suite, with a king size bed, overlooks the main living area. The suite has a walk-in closet and private bath. The bedroom also offers a TV with satellite reception.
On the lower level, there are two bedrooms that share one bath. Each bedroom has access to a deck overlooking the bluff. Rocking chairs have been provided so that you can watch a sunrise or enjoy a restful afternoon. You may see deer, turkeys, raccoons, squirrels, chipmonks and an occasional bald eagle.
Trout Haven is fully equipped with a well-furbished kitchen, that any cook would appreciate. If you do not feel like cooking, the cabin is in close proximity to all area attractions. Historic downtown Heber Springs, shops and galleries, restaurants and unlimited outdoor activities. The Little Red River and Greers Ferry Lake are all only minutes away. For the adventurous, Blanchard Springs Caverns, the Ozark Folk Center and the White River are within a one and a half hours' drive.
A mecca for the serious angler, the area holds a multitude of fishing options. For the Little Red River, Trout Haven is only minutes away from Lobo Landing, where you can rent a boat and hire a guide to fish for rainbow and brown trout. The river holds the world record for German Brown Trout, 40 pounds, 4 ounces, caught by an angler.
Trout Haven is also minutes from Greers Ferry Lake, renowned for world records in respect to Walleye and Hybrid Striper. Watercraft can also be rented on this 40,000-acre lake of sparkling clear water for fishing, waterskiing, and various other water sports.
Because our cabin is on the edge of a 700 foot bluff we do not recommend small children staying here.

My husband and I stayed at the cabin for a weekend getaway for our one year anniversary. We pulled up to the cabin, immediately went to the balcony and was in awe of the view! Just beautiful! The amenities were impeccable! They had just about anything you could possibly need so if you managed to forget to pack something, they more than likely had it there for waiting for you. We spent most of our time on the balcony eating and enjoying the view. We are looking to schedule another trip to the cabin, but next time we're bringing family along to enjoy it with! I would absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway and a place where they can relax and unwind!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: thanks so much for the comments, please come back.

My husband and I stayed at Trout Haven for a few days to spend some time with our son who lives in Little Rock. We decided to rent a home so as to have more room and enjoy the scenery and do some fishing. What a beautiful place and so private! Everything we could want was available and top notch. The views from the back porch are stunning and the cabin is wonderfully private. Quiet, peaceful and yet close to dining, fishing, and whatever we needed - mostly relaxation and time for visiting and catching up on much needed down time. The owner was very accessible and wonderfully accommodating. If we had any questions, he was just a phone call away. He offered good old fashioned hospitality and made sure we had everything we could possibly need before and during our stay. Everything was spelled out simply and easily so we could just enjoy ourselves. Can't wait to go back! We were very pleased with the whole experience and wholeheartedly recommend this property.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks so much, hope you can return.

Rented this cabin for 2 nights in August for a family reunion in town. When you drive up to the cabin you are stunned by the view. It was amazing. The house is well appointed. Everything you might need is in the kitchen. Can't wait to go again next year. Thanks Howard for letting us stay there on such short notice.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The view says it all. My daughter and I sat out on the deck the whole time we were there. I love to cook so fixing super every night was part of the fun, glad I didn't have to run to the store because I forgot something. Any spices you could need are all there. I can't say enough good about this property and hope to return with my husband for a romantic getaway. The owner was very kind and helpful.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

My girlfriends and I have spent an early spring weekend, two years in a row, at this beautiful cabin. It feels like home as soon as you walk in the door. (Better than home) There isn't a single thing that you could need that isn't thought of. This house is so awesome that it's hard to decide what room or area outside to hang out in next! The owner is very nice and professional. If this house was mine, it would be hard for me to share this piece of paradise with everyone. Luckily for us... the owner isn't as selfish as me :) The cabin is only a few minutes drive to the town, lake and river but far enough (and high enough) to feel like you are the only people within miles. In my opinion...there isn't another cabin in the whole area that measures up to this one!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind remarks on Trout Haven. I am currently upgrading some of our features to be availible this fall, to make make sure my cabin is the top place to stay in the Heber Springs area.

We used the cabin for a mini family reunion and it was fantastic. The views were spectacular and it is a peaceful and quiet location. Three levels offer space to have "alone" time and also a large area for being together. Would love to go back again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
