Our tastefully decorated - very "beachy" to the last detail, - open concept beach house with original art work is smoke-free and one-of-a-kind. Ours is the only beach house in Surfside or anywhere on the Texas coast to offer a private pool with optional heating. And, this is one of the very few beachfront houses in the area to offer a large screen wall plasma television, new stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, all linens included (this saves you $140 over other rentals), and televisions in every room! Rain shower head in the nautically detailed bathroom for that luxurious five star feeling. This is an ultra-luxe house!

But wait - there's more. We call our house "Island Time," because that is where time slows down to increments of pleasure and relaxation. You sense that the moment you walk through the door into another world of sheer comfort. All the cares and worries of your every day busy life are left behind.
And wait until you walk into the romantic master bedroom. The pizzaz of the red accents are tempered by the king bed's nautical quilt, tons of pillows and dreamy mosquito net canopy. This bedroom is away from the others and looks out over the rolling surf. When you're not renewing your relationship or listening to the soothing sounds of the gentle surf, there's a 27 inch television in the room for your viewing pleasure.
When morning arrives and the rest of your party sleeps comfortably in the back bedrooms, there's no need to miss your morning Starbucks. An expresso machine awaits in the kitchen. This will be a morning coffee like no other enjoyed either at the glass topped cafe table on the deck overlooking the pool or strolling along the beach.
There is a charcoal BBQ and half bath and outdoor shower to rinse off that beach sand downstairs. From this area you may view sunsets over the IntraCoastal and sport fishing boats headed out to some of the best fishing on the Texas coast. The fishing charter boats nearest Houston are located here where deep water fishing is a short distance away along with the best dive spot of the Texas coast.
The Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary is located only about 35 miles offshore. The Flower Garden Banks harbor the northernmost coral reefs in the United States. The rare/endangered species best known to the sanctuary are the loggerhead sea turtles, the leatherback sea turtles, and the hawksbill sea turtles.
Surfside Beach is the place to go to get away from it all. This small, quaint beach community has convenience stores, a surf shop, and local non-chain restaurants with great home cooked food and small town prices. The Red Snapper Inn features home cooked entrees and some of the best gumbo this side of New Orleans (featured in Texas Monthly Magazine for its great gumbo!).
Attractions/nightlife like the Strand and Moody Gardens are close on nearby Galveston Island.

Why the Owner Chose Surfside Beach
Compared to Galveston, Surfside Beach is a quiet, small town with a sense of community more suitable for families. It is closer to Houston; the beach is cleaner; it is much better for fishing and boating; and museums, shopping malls, movie theaters and great restaurants are of closer proximity to the town than most of Galveston Island.
The Unique Benefits at this House
This beach house has the only know in-deck pool from the Mexican border to Dauphin Island, Alabama. Pool heating, although optional, is available. It is located in a small subdivision on one of the nicer stretches of middle beach.

We purchased this delightful house as our retirement home. My husband and I are boaters and love the water. We worked hard to make this beach house perfect for guests, and are very particular (as past guests can tell you) about keeping the house clean, comfortable, and in perfect repair. We want people to leave happy memories to fill the house when we finally get to live there full time. Thanks to all past guests who have done just that!

We stayed at this awesome beach house for a week and enjoyed every minute of it!!! The kids loved the pool!! The view was great!! The house was very nice and fully stocked with everything you need...towels, linens, dishes, etc! This is a GREAT place to go enjoy with family and friends! We will definitely go back!!!

This property was just as described. We did have maintenance problems during our stay and that is the only reason why I marked it as average. However, the owner did send over help during each maintenance issue. And after the fact, she eventually offered a refund on part of our stay. If everything was in working order, I am sure this property would have been an absolute delight. The only thing to mention is that the pool is small and shallow. It was perfect for our boys (minus the heat going out in March) who are 4 and 6 years old. The property was also clean.

Truly loved this home, had a personal feel unlike others we have rented before. The kids loved the pool, had enough space for our group to have alone time with their families and the view was awesome. Everything was in working condition and loved that there were towels and linens already there. Blessings to the Barnekow's, what a pleasure to rent from you!!

This is a great beach house. We all had a wonderful time. The kids loved the pool. The house was very clean and we had plenty of space. The only thing you might do is upgrade you pots and pans they are in poor condition, also a large salad bowl would be great. Hope to stay there again.

Dear Merilou, our time in your lovely Surfside home was a true joy. You have been more than kind and accomodating. We've had a trying time the last few months, and all that stress just left us and went out with the tide! Our friends were equally impressed. A unique special retreat right on the beach for grandma, grandpa, son, daughter-in-law and 3 grandchildren. Have been enjoying Surfside Beach since the 60's and it has never been any better than this. Wonderful home set up perfectly with everything we needed to make it a trip full of grand memories and just steps to the beach which is kept extremely clean by the Village of Surfside. Fishing, crabbing surfing, kite flying, it's all right there and within a mile of top-notch restaurants, surf shops, fresh seafood markets and local grocery stores. We all soaked daily in the homes lighted pool just outside the front door and sipped our ice cold drinks while hoping this vacation would never end. Who needs Galveston, Surfside and this home has it all and the locals are the best. Thanks guys, hope to be back soon.

Wow! My family and I stayed for a week and it was the best... The pool is an amazing thing to have for the kids as well as adults we spent 3 to 4 hours a day in the pool alone! It's incredible how many ammenities this beach house has! The only thing I would suggest is to add a recliner in the TV room for guys that have a bad back such as myself.. Blessings

This is a great beach house. We had a wonderful time here. The kids loved it too. I really enjoyed the feel of Surfside. Unlike Galveston it didn't feel so "touristy". The house is perfect and has everything you need to have a relaxing time on the beach. Just bring your clothes and food - everything else is provided.

This was the BEST beach house we have ever rented.You walk in and you fall in love with this house!! It's well worth the money to splurge and stay here .
