Location: Seaside, Northern Coast, Oregon, USA (Great beach town 80 mi to Portland Airpt.; 15 mi to Astoria)
Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)
Newly remodelled fully equipped beach house (not a camp or cottage), fully energy efficient, 1/2 block to the dunes and the beach at the north end of the charming town of Seaside, reminiscent of Brighton Beach in England or a little old fashioned Coney Island of years gone by. Clamming, crabbing are steps away, and licenses easy to obtain at the Rite Aid drug store. Decorator in charge! I love to make a house cozy and clever.
Two queen sized bedrooms (one is a master suite with private bath) and a bunk room...bedrooms carpeted and private. Fold out sofa in the living room for the overflow crowd...max by city standards is 9. A small kitchen which has a cook in mind with new range, microwave, disposal and dishwasher. Back deck off kitchen, front porch with swing; ample parking. Garage (ping pong table for rainy days) Barbeque deck off the sunroom. Play house for small children
There is a small fenced yard accessible from the dining room and the garage which is dog friendly for responsible pet owners The beach is great for responsible dog owners, with lots of dog society, and also wonderful for bonfires at night. (Please clean up after your dog, at the house and on the beach.)
Bring your bikes or use our three, or rent a wide variety of pedal vehicles nearby, as one block away the north end of the two mile prom begins. Bike, walk to town, but return to this quiet and private neighborhood. Attractions in the area include a very dramatic part of the north coast of Oregon, with a fun and charming downtown, wonderful upscale shops, but with bumper cars, pedal boat rentals, cotton candy, craft shops, outlet mall and gift and tee shirt shops as well; 15 miles to the Lewis and Clark National Park and Fort Clatsop; 15 miles to the quaint arts-filled city of Astoria (called little San Francisco), where you can watch the sea lions from Pier 39 with no tourist hype and ride the riverfront trolley. There are musical events all summer long and a wonderful opera festival in the restored Liberty Theatre. Astoria has one of the best farmer and craft markets in Oregon on Sundays all summer and fall, with a winter craft market. Seven miles from Cannon Beach, two from Gearhardt, both are artist areas. In Gearhart you can even drive on the beach!

Had a very nice time, much better than a motel room. Was the perfect size for our family of 5 and the dog (she had a great time at the beach and says thanks for letting her share your garage). Nice location close to the beach and walking distance to lots of places. Everything we needed for a beach vacation was here (the pingpong table got lots of use (nice addition) Hopefully will be available for our next beach visit. Nice job on the remodel.
