This particular Villa is one of the best values on the entire island for the offseason (I didn't look at Summer rates - too busy with work and prefer offseason). After doing a lot of research on the offseason, I couldn't find anything else on the island that could beat the value, considering an owner with a solid track record who takes a credit card. Owner was very responsive, helpful, pleasant to work with; owner has put a lot of thought, care, and amenities into the home. Everything is as described - what you see is what you get. I can't say enough great things about this cabin! The location is great, very close to Lake James and not far from a lot of other attractions as well. We had a great time building a fire in the fireplace and making smores and the kitchen is to-die-for. We did some hiking and kayaking at Lake James and it is more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. We also visited a nearby apple orchard called Apple Hill Orchard for some apple picking and a wagon ride and really enjoyed ourselves! The house is incredibly clean and it is clear that the owners put their own personal touches into the home to make you feel welcome, from the little shampoos in the shower to the extra towels and washcloths to the little jar of sugar/splenda on the counter in the kitchen. The neighborhood is very quiet and the views from the gorgeous wrap-around porch were amazing. It was everything we were hoping for and more. Thank you so much for an incredibly relaxing and fun-filled weekend away. Would definitely recommend this to friends, family, everyone!

Felt like our own, cheerful, partially stocked, ready for company, most everything your could need was provided. Adequate bikes, golf carts, and beach chairs. New appliances, clean.

Perfect Villa on the perfect island!

This was one of our favorite vacations ever! My husband and I have traveled extensively, but didn't want to get too ambitious with two young children. This vacation exceeded all my expectations. We loved being on the island. The beach was a very short walk away, but with kids we usually drove the golf cart which took literally 1 minute. We also frequented the pool at the Shoals Club which felt like a tropical resort. We could not have asked for a better house. It's even better than the description! We definitely overpacked because they have everything you need: bikes, chairs, towels, umbrella, etc. All you need is your swimsuit! It was super clean and comfortable, not that we spent much time indoors! We loved sitting on the deck and watching the ocean waves or relaxing in the hammock. The house was a great layout for our family of 4, but we could have included more people. In fact, we're thinking of bringing the grandparents as babysitters next time (and there will definitely be a next time!). We had several questions for the owners before booking, and they were so kind and their response time was very fast. I've already told all my friends what a great place this is and we can't wait to come back!

I have stayed several times at this villa and it has always been a wonderful experience! We have always found everything we have needed here and love the bright, beachy decor. With the central location, you are never far from all the island has to offer. Our favorite activity is sitting on the deck looking out over the water and feeling the ocean breeze, nothing beats it! We would highly recommend this villa and we can't wait to plan our next trip back!

Disappointed

While we were renting this villa the air conditioning system was replaced and the golf cart needed repair. Instructions for use of the TV/DVR were not provided. We were disappointed and would not rent this villa again.

Owner response:We sure are unhappy to hear that anyone does not enjoy their time on BHI. We were happy that we were able to respond to your requests. It was not our intention to have the AC service done while you were there, but we were happy to hear that all the work was done outside the home and while you were at the beach, so that you did not even know it was going on until you returned. The AC company mixed up their dates and offered you a very nice gift certificate. Again we were happy that the work was done outside and you were never without air. We also were very happy that the on island golf cart repair company was able to respond promptly to your problem with the golf cart. They arrived to find the golf cart working fine (and you were using the other cart, so it was working fine as well. ) TheTV remotes have labels to identify their purpose. Our handyman found everything to be in working order. I do appreciate your comments to me about the decor and furnishings....and were happy you liked that! Best Wishes!

My wife and I got engaged at this beautiful home in April of 2008, came back in May of 2009 where we got married at the Bald Head Island Club, her parents stayed here. Then most recently came back for our 2 year anniversary in May of 2011. Needless to say, we have developed many memories in this beautiful house. Since day one trip one, Sherri has been fantastic in working with us. The villa is located in an ideal location, right next to the club, on the golf course, and steps from the beach -- you can't ask for better! With all the amenities and information provided by her and the home, you could not ask for a better place to stay. Thank you, Sherri, for all you have done, and we look forward to many more years of making memories!!

A Great Spring Vacation

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay on BHI. This year we are able to visit two times and hope to do the same next year. We have become very attached to this home. The furnishings and decor are really nice. It is obvious that the owner cares very much for this home and we enjoy seeing new additions with each visit. The villa is always in tip top condition and we appreciate all the amenities included which saves us from bringing or renting these items. We love cooking in the well equipped kitchen as well as grilling out. And we also love our visits to the chapel. We highly recommend attending a service! Thanks again!

Our Little Piece of Heaven

We have had the oppurtunity to visit BHI and Villa 23 on several occassions! Like I said, we like to think of it as our "Little Piece of Heaven" because from the min. you step off the ferry and enter The Villa, all is right with us and our troubles turn to pure bliss! The owner has left nothing to be desired! The amenties are endless, the view is breathtaking, very clean upon arrival, plus the owner is superb at being at our beckon call for any questions, problems or just being there for advice on the island! She is AWESOME! One of our favorite things to do is ride around the island on the golf carts that are provided, (two to be exact) or we might just ride the bikes that are there for our enjoyment! Like I said the amenties are endless and you won't believe all this Villa has to offer! The owner has thought of everything to make your stay on BHI one that you will want to return to as frequent as you can, just like we have done! I promise you that you will agree with me and why we call this "Our Little Piece of Heaven"

We are repeat visitors and LOVE our time on BHI. The Lees offer a wonderful home and we appreciate the attention to detail. The kitchen is furnished in amazing detail and the linens are new and plentiful! The location is convenient to the beach and the club. Our favorite time is relaxing on the deck as we look out over the ocean. Thanks and we will be back soon!

Home Away From Home

We stayed here for a week in March 2009 for spring break. The villa was very comfortable and anything you could think of was provided. We ended up taking a long of items with us that we ended up not needing because of how well the villa was stocked for guests. Villa contains a lot of extras like multiple items to take to the beach, a canoe to use if desired and having the 2 golf carts was very convenient. The owners are great to deal with and were very responsive during the process. We would definitely recommend this place to stay and will be looking to staying there again.

Loved our time at Bald Head Island

Our family loved our time at Bald Head Island. The property was very comfortable, and we felt so at home there. We (family of 5) had plenty of space, lots of fun and cannot wait to find the time to visit again. We spent time walking the beach, touring the island in the provided golf carts, swimming in one of the Club pools, and searching for shells and other treasures on the beach. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and perfectly suited to our needs. The owners provided the best customer service. We spent time driving around the island, visiting shops and the local market, and truly enjoying our break from everyday life in Blue Springs. We whole-heartedly recommend this island and property for anyone looking for a fun place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
