Why the Owner Chose Sisters
In January 2006, my wife and I bought the Aspen Meadow B&B with the sole intent of returning it back to a single family home and converting it to a vacation rental property. For 3 months, I commuted from Portland to Sisters on a weekly basis and transformed a very dated 8 bedroom 6 bathroom house/B&B to a comfortable, tastefully updated 4 bedroom 3.5 bathroom home.
The Unique Benefits at this House
With proximity to downtown Sisters, the privacy that 8.5 acres offers, located on the banks fo Whychus Creek and views of the Three Sisters, Aspen Meadow Lodge is not to be missed the next time you come to Sisters.
Owner's Map of Sisters
Built in 1987, Aspen Meadow Lodge has a rich history over the course of its 25 years. It's use was a single family residence until 1990 where it changed ownership and became the Australian Outback Bed & Breakfast. For 7 years it thrived as a vacation destination where people from all over the globe came to fish Whychus Creek (formerly Squaw Creek) for steelhead, watch bald eagles soar over the aspen grove & nest in the ponderosa pines and enjoy the charismatic nature of the hosts, Clyde & Francis Meego. Allegations of money laundering and insider trading forced them to sell and by 1997, ownership changed hands where it became the Aspen Meadow B&B. The goal for the new owners was to add a series of bunkhouses throughout the property to accomodate more people. Local resistance, cost & health issues forced the proprietors, Kathy & Les Fairburn to abandon their vision.
By 2006, Kathy became too ill to run the day to day operations & Les felt they were better suited for a warmer year round climate.

A Little Piece of Heaven in Sisters, Or

Working long weeks in Portland, my husband and I were desperate for a weekend get-away. Aspen Lodge was a short drive from Portland and seemed the perfect escape. After simple directions and a gorgeous drive we arrived at the most beautiful home. Nestled in the heart of Sister's it was conveniently located near shops, restaurants and galleries. The interior decor matched the serenity of the outside and so incredibly tasteful. My husband and I were able to relax, hike around the property, cook ourselves dinner in the kitchen and watch the sunset in the Jacuzzi. The morning's were the most spectacular with 8 or 9 deer feeding in the neighbor’s yard so close we could touch them. We would recommend Aspen Lodge to anyone and already have. When our need for a vacation weekend calls again...we will be heading back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This is a fabulous house. Not only does it fit our needs perfectly but it is a quality home. The house is always spotless when arrive. The huge lot and the stream that goes behind the house make it a great place to explore. It is so close to Sisters that we end up with more time to play since we spend less time going between the house and town. The kitchen is huge and fully equipped with everything you need. That means that we spend less money when staying here because we can fix our meals here. You will not go wrong staying in this well kept, large beautiful home. Our family just loves staying here.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at this property. The house is well appointed and the floor plan allows for privacy and quiet spaces even with 4 young children along. The furniture is comfortable and accomodating, the decor current and in excellent repair, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms clean and beautiful and the kitchen generous in size, great appliances and well stocked with eating & cooking implements. The private setting of the home is perfect. There are many trees and a beautiful green space with a large fire pit and seating area. The nearby creek provided fun for the girls as did the swing. The area was quiet and peaceful. For entertainment we enjoyed shopping in Sisters, a 5 minute trip, a day trip to Crater Lake, many trips into Bend including the High Desert Museum. The girls enjoyed horseback riding at Diane's, a 10 minute trip from the house. We will consider Diane's week long horse camp in the future as we intend to visit this property again. The owners were very easy to work with, all transactions were smooth and the owners were readily available for questions. I would highly recommend this property to family and friends, especially for a group that would like a floor plan that allows for privacy and retreat.

From the moment we walked into the home it was exactly what we had hoped for. A clean, fresh, rustic look. Our family of 8 spent the nights circled around the coffee table playing board games. The dining table was large enough for all to sit at. I have rented other property's that had very few dishes/appliances/silverware etc, but this home offered everything we needed plus some. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoors so much while there. The first night we roasted marshmallows over the fire in the firepit in the yard. We spent part of another evening sitting in the chairs by the creek that runs through the property. We awakened one morning to snow and 1 dozen deer in the backyard. The very next day it was 60 degrees and we ate on the deck, enjoying the music while my grandkids danced and played leap frog across the deck. We had a wonderful time and hope to return.

"My family loved our stay here. We had a wonderful time swimming in the creek, playing volleyball on the huge back lawn and sharing stories around the fire pit at night. We really liked having the two levels with kids downstairs with their own TV. Everything was very clean and new. It feels secluded but the town is just minutes away. We will definately be coming back here again."

"One of the best Central Oregon experiences our family has had in years! The house was very well laid out with plenty of room for our family & guests. The property was amazing with all the Aspen trees & spectacular mountain views North & Middle Sister. The dozen or so deer each morning walking through the yard was an unexpected treat & we definately plan on a return trip. Thanks for a wonderful stay! Dan"
