I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Minnie's House in Rome. Very clean, convient, quiet , very safe (single female traveller) and close to the metro. 15 min walk or even faster using bus 246 or 247 , the bus stop is just outside the big green gate entrence in front of the bank. Everything was provided for a pleasent stay, a lovely kitchen to make some very nice meals. IF your lucky like me and sharing the place with some very sweet flatmates, you can save on expences and share. Had some wonderful conversations and a lot of laughs, even improved on my Italian. (Hi Elisa/Max, hope you did well with your exams) We cooked some meals together from food items bought at the local farmers market on the right side of the street, got some great pizza rustica (procutto and artichoke) and a half a roast chicken and potatoes, enough for two meals worth all for 5 euro. The deli/rotissirie is at the main road entrence, first store you'll see tables are outside under the shade if you want to sit and eat. Just a little up from there is the "Go" grocery store right on the corner across from the Mc Donalds for other staples, good size with prices to match. It was a very hot weeks stay, most days hit around 28+, I was greatful for the air conditioning to come back to at the end of a days adventures. What can I say about my hostess Carla. She has to be one of the sweetest, most kind and gracious of people. Generious and pacient she takes the time to make sure you are comfortable and was kind enough to open her home to me on my first day. After over 14 hrs of travel, I was pretty tired and needed to find an internet cafe to e-mail family back home that I arrived safe. Carla offered me use of her computer to e-mail my family that I arrived safe, as well she was very generious in leaving me a few slices of freshly baked cake for breakfast a lovely and very delicious suprise. It was very kind as breakfast was not included for me (my choice) as I was on a tight budget this trip. All in all I can say is anyone reading this review and thinking about staying, just do it. I promise you you'll have no regrets about your decision. A clean safe place to stay, a lovely hostess that cares about your comfort and safety...air conditioning (rare in Rome) and in a great location close to the metro with most sights no more than a 20 min ride away at most. Thanks again Carla for your wonderful and most generious hospitality while in Rome, hope to see you again soon.

Carla was very helpful with getting us set up in the flat. She was flexible and was willing to work with us when our plans had to change. The flat was very nice and comfortable. We had 5 small children and would walk to the metro station to do our touring in Rome. A helpful tip for someone coming to this flat: bring your own toilet paper. We were not aware of that requirement, but it was a minor inconvenience.

I had the pleasure of recently vacationing in Rome for 1 Week and I stayed at Minnie's Place - 3BR/2BA Flat near S. Pietro and the Underground! All I have to say about this stay and experience is: CARLA, CARLA, CARLA!!! Carla, who is the point-of-contact was absolutely AMAZING!!! Aside from being extremely helpful, courteous, professional, caring, and patient, Carla is just one of the most amazing and friendliest people you will just ever meet! Carla speaks perfect english and is always willing to go that extra step just to ensure that you are taken care of and that you get the most out of your Rome/Italy experience! Carla resides in the same building and is easily accessible at any time! She was very helpful with any and all information pertaining to Rome and the local area! She arranged for pick-up of me and my party from the airport and helped get us back as well as helped arrange metro/bus passes in addition to thorughly explaining the whole metro/bus system and routes. The flat is exactly as the website shows and describes! There is a small "mom & pop" type of grocery store near the flat and a large supermarket 1 short bus stop ride away! The metro (subway) system is less than half a mile away and is easy to reach via the 246 bus (can be caught right by the flat) or a simple walk! Near the metro stop are 2 internet cafes with cheap internet and phone fees and both shops are well managed and kept very clean! The 247 bus (can also be caught right by the flat) is another bus that will take you literally right by the Vatican Musuem (about a 5 minute walk from it!) This flat is the perfect place to stay as it is well withing 5 miles of almost all major sites within the city center of Rome! The flat is located in a private gated neighbor hood (suburb type area) and is extremely quiet and safe at night! I highly recommend this flat due to its location, coziness, clealiness, and hostess! Carla more than makes this one of the best places that you could possibly stay while in Rome!

My two friends and I had a great time at Minnie’s Place and would we definitely stay here again, and we would recommend Minnie’s Place to others. Everything was as advertised on the website. The bus stop was less than a couple of minutes from the apartment, and the bus was convenient to the Metro subway station and other locations. We felt safe and secure in our apartment, which was nicely furnished, and had the amenities of home. The apartment was spacious and well maintained (including two full modern bathrooms with an American-style shower, sink, and toilet), and located in a quiet neighborhood. There was a convenient little grocery store within a five-minute walk from the apartment.Carla was the other reason that we enjoyed our stay at Minnie’s Place. Carla was patient, knowledgeable, helpful, and generous with her time and attention regarding how to use the bus and Metro system to get around the city, the supermarkets and grocery stores near the apartment, the sites we were interested in seeing, and general information about Roma. She arranged for us to have Metro passes and museum passes, including passes for museums in Florence. And even before we arrived she always responded in a timely fashion to the questions we had about the apartment and the area. We of course have wonderful memories of Roma, but we also have fond memories of Carla and the conversations we had with her.

For five weeks in June/July 2007 we lived in MinniesHouse and our extended family with young children visited in shifts. We left with regret; wonderful memories of a comfortable and very well maintained flat and our delightful new friend Carla who assisted us in every aspect. She is fabulous! Don't miss the tiny pizzeria (takeout) across the Aurelia run by an Egyptian and the local small shops as well as the Mercato and Panorama and GS markets nearby. Be prepared to walk to the Metro on Sundays when bus 247 doesn't run and 246 is crowded! In contrast to many tenants, we cooked in the tiny kitchen for our groups of 7 and then looked forward to gelato at the gelateria near the Cornelia Metro stop beyond McDonald's (which we did not frequent!) FYI: an internet point near McDonalds offers cheap international phone rates and easy email access. We had lived in Rome previously and, with the hordes of tourists today, we were glad to escape to our flat! Enjoy!

I just returned from a 30 day visit to Italy, Greece, and Turkey (including a 12 day cruise.) It was a trip of once in a lifetime. There were 7 of us, my wife, son's and their wives. Of all the great places we visited and people we met, there is only one person that stands out above all the rest, and that is CARLA. She made our trip one we will never forget. As a CEO,hospital administrator, and city manager for 35 years, I would be honored to have such a great employee. She is family forever

We stayed at the flat over the Christmas holiday. The owner made our stay in Rome a very positive experience. The flat was cozy and had all the amenities that we needed. Carla (the owner) was very helpful.

We stayed in Minnie's House with our young children, and it was a clean, safe, comfortable apartment near public transportation that quickly reached the tourist sights. The owner was very helpful in arranging metro tickets in advance, and in anwering any questions that we had about sightseeing in Rome. The location of the apartment is convenient if one has a car, as there is plenty of safe offstreet parking by the apartment. A small grocery store is within walking distance and a large store 2 minutes by car. We would return to Minnie's House the next time we come to Rome.

The flat itself is quite small but perfectly suitable as a base for a stay in Rome. Carla and her family couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming . The flat is beautifully clean, the beds comfortable and very quiet at night. Access to the centre of Rome is very easy - we drove in and parked near St Peter's as recommended by Carla, though it's obviously esay to get in either by bus or Metro.

Absolutely perfect accommodation; very clean; very quiet area; lovely views from apartment at top of house; easy access by bus/metro into centre of Rome. Owner provided much more than we could ever have expected - 110%; so very helpful with information and extremely kind and friendly.

Very quiet and peaceful--it felt like an oasis in the hustle and bustle of the big city. The parking was good, and we felt the cars were safe. We were able to drive to the Vatican quite easily, and taking public transport to the center was equally easy." "Minnie's Place" was a bit crowded with 8 of us sharing the kitchen, but it worked out fine as a base from which to explore Rome. We even cooked a couple of meals there. And Carla was friendly and easy to work with. Overall, we had a very good experience.
