We just returned from 3 weeks in St. Kitts, staying at Half Moon Villa. This was our 3rd time at this house so we obviously like it! The views from both porches are breathtaking and one of our favorite things to do was sit on the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee. The property is convenient to the Frigate Bay area restaurants, beaches and the golf course. Our last week we were joined by friends and the house allowed both couples to have privacy when we wanted it. We did relocate the dining room table so that we could play numerous rounds of yahtzee in the evening. The bedrooms are air conditioned but we found we didn't need the unit unless the weather was bad and we couldn't open the windows. The owners were extremely helpful in regard to the house as well as offering tips on local restaurants and services. Many thanks to the Athertons!

Thank you for allowing us to use your home. Our stay was pleasant, comfortable and extremely enjoyable. Your home made it all the more memorable. The view is spectacular and we would love to return to St Kitts sometime in the future.

We loved the house and location. The people are very friendly and helpful. The driving and roads are the one part of St Kitts that were not very enjoyable-although we got used to it. The water was great and we saw lots of coral we had not seen in other tropical locations.

Thanks fso much for your generosity in sharing your wonderful vacation home with us. We'v had a blast to say the least! The island was very interesting, the people, buildings, shopping, historical sites, flowers, BEACHES, food. What an adventure. The friction between children over video games and turns on the internet was overcome by the shreiks of glee over a big wave, the "falling bush" game, and the peaceful music and movies and visits on the veranda. We all enjoyed trying new food, sharing your recipes (with an island flavor) and dinners out at Mr X's, Ballahoo and Monkey Bar. The rum punch, carib, ting (and occasional Scotch and water for consistency's sake)enhanced the experience. Jesse's birthday (10) and learning to eat with chopsticks and holes on the beach. Jordan and Mia having such a great "girls" time together. Colin, Jesse, and Mia's Pirates of the Caribbean game and movies- so many great memories! But overriding all were the views, oceans, breezes, CONSTANT perfect temperature and peaceful feeling. Thanks so much to Malcolm and Sunny's friendships, companionship and allowing us this vacation with your family. We owe Malcolm many things, but especially for the rental car magic! We will always remember our St Kitts experience Jeri, Clare, Jordan and Jesse

We go home tommorrow after a perfect months stay in your wonderful home. We have had a fantastic holiday, this was our 2nd visit to StKitts and hopefully not our last. The island is beautiful and the people so friendly and helpful. We hired a car for 3 weeks , so we could see everything, my favorite beach has to be Cockleshell bay, peaceful, beautiful and good for first time snorklers, like my son (13). Thank you once again, will send email w/pics whe we get home

Villa is fab, very plush and comfortable, and the view is stunning fron the balconies. We enjoyed walking down to the Marriot (about 20 minutes taking the path via the golf course), but it is a very hilly part of the island. Most guests would probably prefer a car hire (though we didn't bother). We used a guy called Troy- I left his card at the villa. He was so keen for our business that he used to phone us daily to see if we wanted to go anywhere! Recommend: go on the sail to Nevis (we used "Spirit of Saint Kitts'from Basseterre harbour)- we turned up at 9am, and were initially disappointed thta so many others seemed to piling onto the boat. It actually turned into the highlight of our trip- the staff were such good fun, drink was plentiful, and Nevis was gorgeous. We wished we could have taken the trip again! My sister loved the 3 scuba dives she took on the island-she went with a company in Turtle Beach Eats: My favourite was a cafe on Frigat Bay (Timothy Beach) called 'Cathy's' - it was distinctly amateur, with the slowest service ever, but if you have the patience, this is really great Caribbean food. Basseterre-'Fisherman's Wharf' was a great meal, and 'Ballyhoo's' was fun for a drink (food good too). We were disappointed by 'Rock Lobster' but we seem to be in a minority....Best nightlife was defintely Frigate Bay, with a strip of bars on the beach-our favourite was Ziggy's. One thing: we came to Saint Kitts via Angtigua. Antigua airport would try the patience of a saint, with queues for everything, forms to complete seemingly at random, and the worst departure 'lounge' I have ever experienced. Even worse, the flight announcement system is at best eccentric. Avoid if you can. Saint Kitts airport was better but not much facilities. Finally, don't even ge me started with 'Liat', the Caribbean airline. They managed to check in 70 people for our flight from Antigua to Saint Kitts - unfortunately the plane ony has 40 seats. Cue some very forlorn customers (with boarding cards!!) watching from the tarmac as their plane takes off without them. To be fair, we visited when the cricket world cup wa on, so we maybe saw Antigua/Liat airline when it was stretched beyond capacity....and also Antigua began to seem like a fond memory once we got back to London Gatwick - we had to stand with our cases for 6 hours to get to our connecting flight due to a power failure, so these things happen everywhere. Thanks again, especially for ar

Thank you for 4 fantastic weeks at your villa, you have thought of everything to make our stay home from home. This is our 2nd time on the island and we didn't want to come home. Our favorite beach was cockleshell bay, very quiet, calm sea and sandy beaches, although it was great fun on north friars beach with the crashing waves fantastic for body-boarding. We hired a car for 3 weeks so we could explore the whole island which I would recommend to anybody but the taxi drivers are great, nothing is to much trouble. Our holiday was perfect, thank you again.

Had a GREAT time. Saturday & Sunday were very windy with on and off showers, but it did not stop us from showing off the island to our friends. The St Kitts scenic railway could not get it's engine running on Monday so we had to go back on Thursday, but still and enjoyable ride as always.

We had a wonderful stay at your lovely villa. We especially enjoyed the fantastic views and the blowing Trade Winds. St Kitts is the most beautiful island that we have ever visited: we found the natives to be unusually friendly. I accidently left the address of your house at home in Virginia. We drove around for some time looking for your house until a kind couple took pity on us and helped. We showed them a picture of the house that I had printed from the internet and they had us follow their car until they led us to the correct address. We tried to take advantage of everything available while we were there. We visited Monkey Beach, Turtle Beach, and the beach at Shipwreck Bar and Grill, dined at Marshall's, Ottley's Plantation, the Marriott and Bobsey's and went deep sea fishing and horseback riding in the rainforest. The monkeys, mongooses, and goats enchanted us.

After an exhaustive few years of working, I needed a break. Your house, your amazing home, took the stress out with the tide. The never ending cool ocean breeze and sound of the crashing waves put me to sleep every night. The island itself is beautiful--I never realized how diverse and island could be from sandy beaches to the deep rainforests, just breath taking. We also did 10 dives with Auston Macleod of Pro Divers. St Kitts is now my favorite dive site. With everything to sit at 60 feet or less so the tanks last a long time. With 100 reeefs and just as many wrecks we never got bored. Don't make me go home! Dream of living here,

I just got back from my second stay at Half Moon Villa. It is such a wonderful location: up on the hill for sea breeze (no bugs), a quick drive to town ( we rented a Suzuki Carry Van), a walk from the golf course and Marriott (for when you want to be pampered) and right near the unspoiled beauty of the penisula. Things I'll do again next time: -Spratnet- $20 US for a HUGE!! fire roasted lobster -Volcano hike, nice challenge...get a guide though -Turtle Beach, quiet beach bar at the end of the peninsula. They let us feed monkeys and massive pig. -Blue Anchor, nice bar to hand out with the Ross students -CSR Coconut rum, my new favorite. (Mix it in the blender with ice, lime passion fruit or whatever you find at the market) -Bambu's, Best pina coladas I have ever had!!! ( I went back four times) -Beach on end of penisula, can't remember the name -Snorkeling off the White House Point-AWESOME!!! There are even cannons and a huge wreck within a stones throw from the shore -Food, I really like the "Guava Cheese" and local backed goods at the supermarket -Shopping, I'll go back to the Island Glass in Basseterre, and Caribelle Batik up at a cool plantation (first plantation, on the first island in the Western Hemisphere to free their slaves - 30 or so years before the US thanks again for the wonderful experience. I am looking forward to coming again some day.

Thank you for a wonderful week on St Kitts. I will absolutely be returning for another stay at your beautiful villa. St Kitts is such a pleasant island with friendly people, good restaurants and gorgeous views. I was surprise at how unspoiled it remains- for now at least! For future visitors, I recommend -Bring your own snorkel equipment and visit any beach on the Caribbean side of the island for gorgeous sea life. (The Atlantic side was too rough for us) -Visit the new Marriott for a day of decadence at their pool and casino -Visit the beautiful garden at the Caribelle Batik ship. -Rent a car and see the whole island-especially visit the outdoor bar at Turtle Beach at the peninsula and feed the monkeys
