  We spent several days with family and grandson from Fort Benning and enjoyed the lake and especially the hiking trails. A great escape for downtime and relaxation and still only a few minutes to Columbus. Would recommend the cabins for a great place to stay or unwind.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

  I came with my parents, daughter, and son's girlfriend to visit my soldier son who is currently at Ft. Benning. It was a perfect place for him to relax and rejuvenate his spirit. We enjoyed the gorgeous lake and the tranquility of the surroundings. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. While it felt we were in the middle of nowhere (which my son loved), we actually were not far at all from great restaurants and shopping. Thanks for a wonderful getaway!

  My wife, my son and I enjoyed six wonderful days at Ellerslie lodge and the absolutely fish filled lake Catch a Fish! The cabin was great with ample room and very comfortable. We caught bass (1-3 lb range), giant crappie, bream and catfish all day long! On the next to last day there I hooked a monster bass (at least 8 lbs.) but couldn't land him before he popped my line. Almost everyday we had the entire lake to ourselves. My son and I hiked the many beautiful trails and walked the absolutely stunning creek. My son also enjoyed the kayaks. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys the outdoors and loves to fish. Many thanks to Benji and Dorothy as we could not have had better host. They even enjoyed our dogs. Thanks again Dr. Benji for a much needed wonderful vacation, we'll certainly come back!

  Our family left due to the poor conditions of cabin . Dirty floors, spider webs in every corner, needed complete rehab. Just Horrible after a 12 hour trip to arrive to this. Very unhappy.

  Owner response: We were not on property when guests arrived. Unfortunately, our caretaker sent them to the wrong cabin which had not yet been cleaned.

  I stayed here for the weekend to get away from the stress and strain and boy did it work! The property is beautiful - the lake is amazing. I am not a fisher, but loved swimming and paddling in the water. Talk about paradise - no one else around - was like my own private lake! Clean, safe - just the right size - you can easily paddle in a kayak from end to end. I enjoyed the makeshift beach and lounging on the floating dock in the middle of the lake. The cabin I stayed in had the convenience of home including AC, fully accessorized kitchen, bathroom, and DirecTV. This cabin had wi-fi - which was spotty at times, but given the location - understandable - you will also go in and out of cell phone connection. My verizon phone did better than AT&T. Easy 7 mile drive to Wal-Mart and shopping. But if you want to get away from it all - this is the place to be. I intend on coming back. Thanks to Dorothy and Benji for the hospitality!

  We have taken several vacations, but have never found a more beautiful, peaceful, and friendlier place to stay. My Granddaughter loved watching the variety of birds and butterflies in the well maintained yard. The owner educated her on the names of each bird. He took the time to show us the nature trails, which are full of surprises. We enjoyed walking the trails in the evening. There was something different to see on each trail. My Granddaughter enjoyed swimming to the floating dock, the trails, looking for butterflies, bugs, and most of all she enjoyed the learning experience thanks to uncle Benji. We really felt like we were at home. The cabins are cozy and have everything you need to be comfortable. The lake is not only beautiful, but full of fish. My husband caught 44 bass within a few hours. He thought he died and went to heaven. We are looking forward to returning there in the near future.

  This place was amazing, There is so much to do right there. Unfortunately it rained on and off during our stay we still manages to get in many hikes and fishing on the lake. They have everything there for you to enjoy yourself. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area for any reason. The rates were great, the owners are wonderful and there are only 3 cabins ( plus the owner) to share all this wonderful space. It is right next to Columbus Ga so there are restaurants and "city" around but I recommend that you forget that, bring some food and feel all the relaxation of being away from it all, even if you are a local. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
