Our island theme beach cottage is located in Oceanside Village... a gated community in Surfside Beach, SC.
Quiet and private screen porch, overlooks one of several lakes. We call it "swan lake" because of the many swans that call it home.
Large kitchen features bright colors combined with metallic accents.
It has all the comforts of home for those who enjoy cooking in. Kitchen linens are included. Wraparound counter seats 6 and opens up to the den area, which features a colorful beachy decor. There is also a table and chairs which can be used for dining or games.
Tropical master bedroom with bay window overlooks "swan lake" and has a queen bed and full bath. Second and third bedrooms are joined by a full bath. {Queen bed in second room} Third bedroom is the perfect retreat for the kids with it's full bed with twin bunk above. This will be there favorite play place.
House is located a few minutes from the beach. Free private beachfront parking is always available. You can walk [about 7 minutes}, drive or take the golf cart (about 3-4 minute ride}. We offer our golf cart as an option so that those who do not want one do not pay for one. It is a fun mode of transportation and the kids will love it.
Oceanside Village offers many amenities such as 24 hour security, indoor heated pool and kiddie pool, outdoor pool, park and playground, fishing ponds, private beachfront parking and dining, and weekly events at the community center.
We purchased this house in April '06 and have updated it with bamboo flooring, new furniture, fresh paints and anything else we thought might be fun along the way.
We believe that our home belongs to our rentors for much of the year and to us for whatever time remains. We have it furnished the way we like it and we LOVE it. We think you will, too.
Surfside Beach has the widest beach on the east coast. It is family oriented and there is much for the kids to do.
If you are not familiar with the area, we will gladly send you a packet of our "favorite" things to do and places to eat and shop when you make your reservation.
Please email with any questions. You can reserve your vacation with a $300 deposit and pay the balance 2 weeks prior to arrival date.
We offer linens for $25.00. These are 100% cotton high thread count sheets....You are responsible for your towels and wash cloths.

We had a wonderful stay at at oceanside Village. The house was very nice and cozy. We really enjoyed the amenities such as the indoor heated pool, the library and the computers, and the events at the clubhouse. We definietely recommend this house. We will be returning next year.
Owner response:Thanks, Bob and Rita. We appreciate you being such great rentors. Glad you can be with us this winter... Allison

My family and I stayed here from Aug. 1-6th, 2011. The property is not what it says it is. Where to start?!?! The house was NOT cleaned prior to arrival. There are big, permanent stains on the carpet in the house, covered by rugs which then cover up the vents. There were no helpful notes about using facilities or the need for a pass to get into the beach parking lot, etc. One reason we chose this house was for the bunkbed for my kids, ages 8 and 6. When we arrived, there was no ladder to be found and also a HUGE crack in the ceiling of that bedroom drooping down (water damage? not fixed?) which scared my daugther. Needless to say, nobody used the top bunk. Also, there were pieces of the ceiling on the floor which my husband vacuumed immediately when we got there. The dishes were left in the dishwasher upon arrival. NO bedding was left out or put on the bed. There were lights which didn't work in the house. I contacted the owner several times and she did offer to send the cleaning person out the second day. I have used VRBO 4 times prior to this and never had any problems. In my opinion, this property should not be rented to customers until repairs are made. I feel it was a waste of my money that I stayed at this house.
Owner response:Absolutely unable to please this family. Dishes were put in dishawaasher and washed by previous rentor. They were clean. Sheets were washed and left drying by previous rentor and were clean and dry. Renter was upset because they were wrinkled. We offered our linens at no charge from the beginning. We offered to have cleaning service come and clean and they refused. We refunded a large portion of the rental fee because the wife was so distraught. Rentor received a packet with keys and a notice that they could get a $20 refundable pass to get into oceanfront parking with their car. We would NOT rent to this family again either.
